  1. Really hope this is an early ugly rumour - apart from losing another team/track, on a personal note I've really enjoyed my Tuesday trips from South London this season.
  2. Your World Cup analogy is fundamentally flawed - a team could win their qualifying group without conceding a goal, scoring double figures in every game - they then reach the finals. They play through a group and continue to score freely and score maximum points to make the last 16. They win this game and the quarter and semi finals all without conceding a goal - yet in the one off final game they meet a team who have been lucky to get there and lose the World Cup on penalties - does anyone apart from the sore losers look back and say 'Yes but.....?'
  3. Another track ticked off for me - that's 9 new ones this year - and once again I was really impressed. Good atmosphere, friendly people and some great racing. Sat in the Royal Box and benefitted from being able to see the pits clearly as well as the track. I also thought the track staff did a great job, making the outside so attractive for the riders really brought the racing alive. Thanks Redcar - let's spread some positive vibes for once !
  4. Thats brilliant - should have a choice then! Thanks again
  5. Thanks for that R&R - looks as though I might be out of luck unless I bring out the rain-dance!
  6. I'm intending to go over to the Torun GPs and to spend the following week in Poland. Does anyone know if there would be any Speedway likely to take place in that first week of October? Is it possible that the play off finals will stretch into October? Any info would be appreciated
  7. I was on a bit of a speedway tour taking in 5 meetings this week at 4 tracks I hadn't visited before - this meeting was by far and away the best of the week. Looking at the track when I arrived I knew this would produce good racing - nice thick dirt instead of the flat sandy surfaces that seem usual nowadays. The riders then threw themselves into the racing and just about every point was fought over. Particularly impressive was Jordan Palin, who really produced some excitement that didn't always lead to maximum points, but surely underlined his potential. Well done Scunthorpe - I loved it!
  8. My first visit to Kent Kings and I'll certainly be going again - friendly enthusiastic support, great main stand which will be even better after the Covid restrictions are dropped and some enjoyable racing. The track was heavy at the start and some riders seemed nervous on the bends in particular, which contributed to the nasty crash in Heat 2. The class of Glasgow told in the end, but if Scott Nicholls had some back-up from Heeps as planned I think the result could have been closer. I gather the 'Munchkings' are well looked after in normal times which can only bode well for the future. Promotions on the up like this should get all the encouragement they need and deserve, when there are so many stories of doom in British speedway at the moment!
  9. Hopefully that's worked out nicely - got a ticket for Gorzow as a follow-up to the GP - just got to hope that the Poles don't put on any quarantine!
  10. I'm on the look-out for Saturday tickets too if anyone has them spare? Now that I've got flights/hotels sorted looking for 2 in anything except the red zone Tickets sorted now - thanks for the offers
  11. Any news on Dudek? I thought the racing was like much of the Extraleague - a lot of races were clear cut but with some real excitement and racing at other times, depending on how good the last grading had been.
  12. Zagar is always my each way bet - you never know
  13. Feel for Logachev - to be in the meeting all the way through and lose it in the last heat - tough break I guess he will qualify if Zagar is in Top 6 of GPs?
  14. Makes you wonder how riders like KK keep getting a chance - Speedway is a small community and you would think that a poor reputation would spread like wildfire
  15. It's a different KK than the one who has been turning up for Gorzow
  16. Is this just a straight twenty heats or is there a semi final/final
  17. Seems to me the Extraleague is becoming more entertaining as the riders are settling to the current conditions and precautions - having been no-hopers I could see Gorzow having a late run to the play-offs and Leszno are looking beatable at last - loving the coverage, well done to Dave Goddard for filling the considerable gaps and thanks to racers and royals for keeping us updated with the excellent programmes.
  18. Is there a racecard for tonights meeting? Its far more enjoyable completing the programme as well!
  19. Noticed that most of the hotels were unavailable already - making sure they have the prices right before releasing rooms! And it could be Cardiff v Swansea as it will be a whole new season in September 2019, who knows what divisions they could be in? It would however be highly unlikely the police would allow an clash of resources
  20. Do you still get access to cheaper accommodation when you buy a ticket? Going to make a very late decision!
  21. The Novotel in Cardiff had notices at every desk saying Speedway GP 2016 is on July 9th. Hotels already able to increase their prices!
