What an advert for speedway Ashfield is. 

A great evening of racing and an excellent result to go with it.

I’ve been critical of Flint in the past, but take a bow son. We know what to expect with Harris, but Flint sensational.

I thought Edinburgh were remarkably fortunate with the decisions in heats two and thirteen.

For heat two, I can understand the decision because Perry goes down untouched, but let’s call a spade a spade, he hit the deck because Marson had little control over his bike. Perry would have passed him three bends earlier had he, again, had control of his bike.

For heat thirteen, Polis - who I rate and was surprised by tonight - was all over the place; completely erratic. Had Harris not taken evasive action entering bend two, he’d have been on the deck and Polis would have been excluded. He didn’t though; he chopped it and came under the Pole while Howarth raced around him - or was about to - until he was obstructed. If you obstruct a rider going quicker than you, you’re both crashing. Regardless of whether your handlebars are in front or not; common sense should prevail.

So a 4-2 still would have meant a 4 point lead going in to heat 15, don't see what difference it would have made considering a 5-1 was nailed on in heat 15.

While it was very unlikely Monarchs were going to win going into the heat 13 re-run, there was still an outside chance. Think the promotion owe it to their fans to give them the best possible chance of that happening. Marson racing in heat 14, meant there was no chance of that happening.

I also think an 8 points defeat is better than a 10 point defeat etc

Does not matter whether is was 8 or 10 they still would lose the meeting and aggregate point plus you are asking a rider to be dishonest and get disqualified on purpose.

Thought we were pretty crap tonight and still managed to get to heat 14 with a chance of winning. Sedgy and Victor apart, Oskar just cousin get any speed in the bike, paco wasn’t great neither was Grahn. 
 

Kye needs replaced before his average falls through the floor as he’s getting more embarrassing by the week.

I’m delighted it happened, but for your captain to lose to a reserve, subsequently securing your rival’s victory, isn’t on.

Thomson was, and has been, absolutely woeful this season. No doubt about it. Zero from three rides from “Sweden’s sixth best rider” too. Nowhere near good enough.

I’m a good guy, so I’m resisting the urge to sarcastically respond to your ”he scored paid 6” comment regarding your captain who was on the tail end of two 5-1s, only finished ahead of two opponents (17 year-old Boughen and 19 year-old Hodder) and was then beaten by one of those young boys in a heat which secured victory for Glasgow.

Thomson and Grahn; shocking, but that captain’s armband is looking a little too heavy for Castagna.

With Dan having a rare off night it would have been over sooner if we had his usual performance.

I think what he’s trying to say is there’s two other people who scored 1 point between them who the finger should be pointed at first.

Everyone knows what Paco is by now and as an outsider looking in I’d not have expected him to score much more, yes a poor heat 14 but when you look at his performances compared to Thomsens it’s night and day, he’d be the first on to go if they could find a decent replacement imo.

I like that the resist to sarcasm lasted about a paragraph but it is good to see you championing Leon Flint for a change.

I'm no expert, but it looked liked bike problems, all night. He didn't seem to make the gates in any of the heats. He's posted on his social media update about bike problems: engine went in heat 9 and was using a 2nd bike with the wrong set up. I'm sure he'll be back to norm at his old stomping ground tonight.
