King’s Lynn Stars vs Sheffield Tigers - Mon May 19th

Looks like this will be a close one. I'd rather  use R/R around the AFA, than the riders mentioned. Sheffield are up there, but all their meetings have been at home, apart from 1. Picko could be the difference for me. He's been nearly unbeatable in the Tigers 5 home meetings, averaging just under 11 inc bonus points. I think he scored 8 from 5 in his only away meeting, so hopefully we get the away Picko..

Klindt should comfortably out score Kerr at 6. But Leon Flint could well outscore Ashton at 7. Sedgmen will have a tough night I think. It's a tough one, but i'll go The Stars to lead early on, and the Tigers to tighten things up in the later stages, but Lynn to get over the line. 47-43

Rob Lyon said on the POE podcast that it would be r/r as lynn riders would be better option than the oxford riders available (Riss was mentioned)

Another must win for the Stars, gonna be a close one but hopefully a Stars win - you'd think most of the Lynn riders should have the beating of Kerr, Flint, Sedgeman and hopefully Anders - and are well capable of taking good points of Chris Holder and Picko....Jack Holder might be almost unbeatable....

If that’s what Rob Lyon said, I don’t buy it. Using R/R relies on Klindt taking seven rides, which is a massive risk. No team manager would go for R/R with Lynn’s options for more than one meeting……other than to save money.

Listen to it yourself:

It'd be Riss or Cook and the idea is that three rides for Klindt and one for Kvech will be much more reliable at home and it's almost possible to disagree.

If they just wanted to do things on the cheap then they wouldn't have booked a guest for Monday week at Brum.

Surely the cheapest option would be to book someone like Riss,he would probably score a couple of points at the most as opposed to Klindt/Kvech maybe scoring 6/7/8 between them.

With Anders, Kerr and Picko ex Lynn riders I fancy our chances to pick up a win here but my gut feeling says a home win by 6 points. Think the KL strength in depth will come good in this meeting with Sheffield picking up too many last places to get in front.

Chris is also an ex Star too. I can't see us getting close to Sheffield to be honest.

I'm sticking with 40-50 Sheffield. For me, it'll be an outstanding result if King's Lynn win.

Yes but they probably think that they have more chance of winning at Brum than overcoming Sheffield at home, so maybe money well spent.

Paying for Riss or Cook almost certainly wouldn't be. If there were other teams not riding I'm sure they would have booked a guest. They really can't afford to lose at home if they have any designs on 4th.

As you rightly say , Stars can not afford to lose at home tomorrow, but I really fear that Sheffield will win.

Will be interesting to see what the Stars 1-7 is tomorrow… I assume R/R will be at 2 but I’m not so sure where exactly Kvech, Lawson and Iversen will be (3,4&5) 🤷🏻‍♂️ if have Kvech & Niels 3&4, Kvech to try and deal with Picko in heat 3 and Lawson 5 👍🏻 if Rob puts Niels at 5 again it’s crazy!

Would disagree, the two Danes were paired together early in the season as they tend to ride well together, at least two heats would feature them both with Niels at 5. Also thought Kvech and Lawson have been decent as a pairing.

Will be a tough fought meeting, but I just see Lynn having enough to get it over the line. 47-43

Surprised to see Picko not at number 5 but I think Steady has more confidence in the reserves than he does Sedgmen atm so it protects him the most. Chris Holder has taken a dip in form last couple of weeks but BV and Ipswich were a step up in opposition for the team so for me he is the key man for Sheffield tomorrow if we are to pick up a win

Sheffield as usual reliant on the top 3, Jack usually goes great around King’s Lynn, Chris was paid for at least double digits on his three visits last season, but Pickering majorly inconsistent in his three visits scoring as low as 2 from 4.  Sheffield will need a performance from the ex Lynn riders in Rowe and Kerr (hopefully finding that plastic tab in his tank will cut out the engine issues) to back up the heat leaders as can’t see many points from Sedgmen or Flint.

Harris will need to perform as a number 1 and be backed up by Lawson, Kvech and NKI and you’d expect Klindt to be in double digits with the 7 rides he’s more than likely to take.

This should be really close and can see a home win just 47-43
