The Henka, Loram, Brhel years were awesome. Last heat decider every week. I can remember Petersen at Lynn in 1988, I think he dropped a couple of points off his average and didnt last the season. Had a falling out with Bill Barker over money and popped up at Wolves IIRC. Then of course finished his career over here very successfully with Arena Essex 1991-93.

Not sure why you would write all that and not mention Tate Z getting paid 10 in place of Paco.

I think the fact that not one Edinburgh fan has stood up for Cluff speaks volumes. Also the two guests have had a massive impact on the result.

Too much clay unfortunately, its good for stock cars though and that's what makes most of the money. I also think Lynn's track would benefit from the white line being taken in a bit. Shorter straights, wider bends. It can be good, we see the odd very good race but generally riders get too strung out too quickly and its very difficult to make up ground once behind because of all the heavy roost.

That's the issue though, as other clubs have found out previously. Very, very difficult to get riders over here during the season, and there appear to be few new ones who want to sign in the winters.

Fair play Thomsen, brilliant ride. BZ too concerned about Lambert, luckily for him m it wasn't Kurtz round the outside. Lambert will be disappointed but he looked properly world class this evening and is starting to develop some consistency. And he picked Zmarzlik off twice.

Hi Graham, what has happened to the excellent Talk Speedway podcast? Have missed it this year.

We said on the pod in Wednesday that Lynn taking advantage of a vulnerable Sheffield and Leicester doing the same to a vulnerable Ipswich would give our chances a massive shot in the arm and so it proved. From a Lynn point of view isolating Ipswich as the team who we can realistically overhaul is probably our best chance, another home defeat for them would be handy. But Lynn need to win at Northampton twice and be unblemished at home as a minimum to get 4th IMO.

Get in lads, great result. We needed to take advantage of a weaker Sheffield team and we did.

Would agree with that, don't think there was a huge amount between all three, could have been any combination really. Niels was obviously the right choice and had won heat 14 but either of the other two would have checked out had they gated.

Also televised/streamed meetings tend to run for a couple of hours do they not? A three hour broadcast with half an hour each end for build up/analysis? Last night finished just after half 9. Most meetings this year have been done by 9:15, any quicker than that and personally I'd feel short changed.

Only exists for bonus points I believe.

I think Jenkins hit the deck in part because Zagar straightened up and slowed, trouble is Jordan was already out of shape and not really anywhere near Zagar so excluding him was correct. Don't understand why Zagar wasn't disqualified too though, he clearly wasn't under power when the red lights went on. One if a number of bizarre calls by a pretty poor ref. Lynn were back to their awful gating ways and got away with a draw really, Northampton could and perhaps should have won that. I'm fearing what's to come on Thursday at Sheffield.

Five heat wins at home is dreadful but fair play to Northampton, they thoroughly deserved that if not more. Back to the drawing board for Lynn!

This referee is horrendous.

Expecting this to be tighter than last Thursday with all the ex Lynn men in the Foxes side, Batch could be a proper nuisance at reserve.

You certainly looked like the weakest team on paper to most people but some of the rhetoric was massively OTT.
