  1. I'm struggling to find the evidence @IainB but I'm sure Boughen had a purple patch in 2024 just before he had a nasty crash at the British U21 final at Redcar after which his scores returned to the norm. EDIT here's a 13+1 at Glasgow: https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/22903/oxford-championship-08-09-2024
  2. I don't think stocks have a great deal of impact nowadays if you have access the the right equipment ie a blade, I'd say it's more to do with introducing more dirt as there was clearly more of that last night compared to last week. Will take a week or two to bed in, but nevertheless the experienced riders need to deal with it better than they did last night.
  3. Was it naughty or the usual Holder bleating?
  4. So in theory Northampton and/or Lynn could use Jake Mulford or Joe Thompson as guests?
  5. Cooper quite clearly got that move badly wrong and was incredibly lucky to not be disqualified, as were the other two lads to not break bones. But let's not go OTT, he is young and still learning and I'm sure somebody will have had a word, and he himself will have realised his error. I actually think watching it from behind that he veered further left than he intended, looking over his shoulder doesn’t mean he was trying to nail anybody. It was an error of judgement. Let's not use this as a stick to beat one of our young prospects too hard. Out of interest what are the rules regarding guests for Rising Stars?
  6. The extra dirt this week has clearly caught out the Northampton riders, Thomson apart.
  7. The GB trio might pick themselves after heat 2 at Northampton this evening!
  8. For balance he also won the Remembering Rico meeting with six wins out of six in 2012, then in 2013 he scored 17 from 6 for Poole, and then paid 19 for Swindon in 2015 so I think we can say he cracked it eventually.
  9. Latest Pride the East podcast which dissects the Stars' defeat in Suffolk amongst other stuff 🙂
  10. I don't think Scunthorpe could ever be accused of a lack of loyalty towards Sumon Lambert, too much if anything. FWIW I don't think Poole have done anything wrong here, you can't drop a rider scoring as well as Newman has been.
  11. Pretty sure he was under consideration at Lynn couldn't be fitted in. Also on the point of Rising Stars beating other riders, if we are going to criticise Castagna then just taking the meetings involving Lynn we also need to point the finger at Kvech, Cook, Thomsen, Pickering and Ethridge too. RS's are going to beat people, especially Jason Edwards.
  12. He's partaking in his usual immature points scoring unfortunately. All harping back to the Play Off final where their track was gash and your was mint. He thinks that crap racing and trophies fills stadiums whereas great racing and no trophies doesn't.
  13. Who do you have in mind? Paco has been pretty good at home and obviously isn't a fan of the Foxhole (our only away track ridden so far) so I'd not be wanting rid just yet. Just six last places today but only three heat winners and the associated poor gating (again) is a long way short of good enough. Reserves more than did their jobs but Max & Jan haven't reached the levels they are capable of so far and need to get that sorted ASAP. Cook and Harris decent as an engine room today but for those heat wins. Overall disappointing.
  14. I'd go back to the original system from 1995 onwards....A,B,C, & D finals with points awarded accordingly.
  15. Perhaps somebody pointed out the utter absurdity of guesting for a team in your own club's three team group.
  16. Perhaps he is, I dont know too much about him but after last night I could have seen him finishing 16th with a big fat zero. As it turned out he didn't look out of place in a pretty strong field.
  17. I thought Parnitzski did pretty well on his debut, could have scored more points and crept into an LCQ but acquitted himself fairly well especially after looking very ordinary last night.
  18. Some really good racing once they let the track dry out and stopped flooding it! Well done Woryna, fantastic debut.
  19. Lambert did well to get a point off gate three straight after a watering there.
