Sheffield v King's Lynn 19/6/25

Recommended Posts

Sheffield R/R for Pickering,Lynn R/R for Cook.Harrison is the rising star.

Unfortunately I can see another defeat for the Stars on the road.Sheffield are weaker without Pickering but are so strong at home that I can only see a home win.Would have been nice if Lynn could have got a guest for Cook, this would have put a lot less pressure on the reserves.Harrison will have to take 4 rides now.

I’m sure we’ll be down by 6 or more at some point and will use a tactical instead of Harrison. Kvech will definitely be taking 7 though. Unfortunately, I think we will lose, but will be a lot closer than last time with R/R for Pickering and a less than 100% Rowe. 50-40

Sheffield

1. J Holder - 13 (5)

2. A Rowe - 7 (5)

3. R/R

4. L Kerr - 5 (5)

5. C Holder - 14 (6)

6. J Sedgmen - 4 (3)

7. L Flint - 7 (6)

Total - 50

King’s Lynn

1. R Lawson - 8 (5)

2. N Klindt - 7 (5)

3. C Harris - 9 (5)

4. R/R

5. N K Iversen - 5 (4)

6. J Kvech - 10 (7)

7. L Harrison - 1 (3)

Total - 40

Looks like you have missed someone off having the tactical🫢

Picko's averaging 10.62 at home, so with C. Holder, Row, Kerr and Sedgy taking his rides is a big loss.  But with the Holders probably getting 11 rides between them, i think a lack of race wins will be the Stars downfall. I know they will  ride together in 2/3 races, but in those they could well get a few 5-1's.

If Niels can find some speed, and Kerr does't have a stonker, i'd go with 50-40

Think KL may surprise everyone here if Kvech fills his boots at reserve again.

Picko is an out and out No.1 around Sheffield so the drop off to R/R is quite significant.

Can't see Kvech getting near what he got Monday, his gating isn't the best and Sheffield are so strong at home.

Kvech has visited Owlerton 3 times (twice in 2024 and once in 2025) having 16 rides in total scoring 19 points (8 from 5, 9+1 from 7 and 2 from 4), so will need a big upturn in form to keep King’s Lynn in the hunt.
R/R for Pickering should be a drop in points for Sheffield, can see possibly 6-7 from his rides which is easily 4 points less than you’d expect him to score.

Home win but closer than the earlier match in the season, 51-39

Seems an age since the last home match v Ipswich, might have to programme the sat nav in to get me there! 😁

Hopefully some good racing and a home win to come away with the 3 points on offer

This is the quirk of how the Stars are built this year, they could spring a surprise, especially with morale high after monday night... that said, it will take a monumental effort to beat the Tigers on their own patch, even without Pickering.

No Pickering & this heatwave will absolutely hamper track prep, could swing this King's Lynn's way I'm feeling.

Like your positive attitude, but we rarely do anything half decent at Owlerton.

Should be able to keep it closer than normal, but I still fear a 10+ point defeat.

Prove me wrong Stars.... PLEASE!

Some F bombs being dropped by Woffinden tonight according to updates. Is there really any need for it...🙄

No,not really imo.Done the same at the fanzone in Manchester Friday.Thing is he actually means to do it.You don't see any other sportsmen go out of their way to swear when being interviewed, not intentionally anyway.

Think the Lynn manager should have planned the rides out better.

Not using a tac sub when 6 points down, meant no extra ride for Harris, then giving Klindt the first r/r outing left Harrison taking 4 rides.

From the updates Harrison was competitive, but if they want to challenge for the play-offs, need to be more ruthless / tactically wise!

I was surprised Rob didn't do that - he is normally more on the ball and one of the best team managers in the league

I said that to a friend about 15 minutes ago.It is unusual for Rob not to be on the ball.He usually uses the tactical as soon as he can.I also would have used Klindt RR in ht 14 to partner Kvech. This would have only given 3 rides to Harrison who by all accounts done well though.Still I would have took a 4pt loss before the meeting, but a bit frustrated too that we didn't take anything from it.
