eide67
It's almost like starting a new season it's been so long since there was speedway at Armadale. Weather no problem today - it's scorchio. Redcar have Tate Zischke and William Cairns guesting. William was brilliant at Armadale in the NDL match scoring an 18 point max, much of it from the back. How will he fare at championship level - pretty good is my guess. Teams from Edinburgh website: Friday 11th July: Edinburgh Monarchs v Redcar Bears (Championship), Armadale, 7:30pm STELLAR MONARCHS: Victor Palovaara, Kye Thomson, Justin Sedgmen, Paco Castagna (Capt.), Michael Palm Toft, Jonatan Grahn, Jordy Loftus. AGILIA BEARS: Charles Wright (Capt.), Will Cairns, Jason Edwards, Tate Zischke, Danny King, Jody Scott, Ace Pijper.
Steve Irving
Looking forward to this one. My first look at young Cairns so will be interesting to see what all the fuss is about. Narrow home win for me.
Mr Blobby
Obviously Redcar never seen Tates score from his previous appearance, couldn’t get round the place, knows where the air bags are though.
lukeellis
Baffling why Zischke is guesting for Redcar, can only assume Kerr and/or Zack Cook must have been unavailable. His form has been poor this season and like people say,he apparently really struggled to get round Armadale a few weeks ago.We never seem to get the best guests for some reason.Wright and King have good records at Edinburgh, but it looks like a long tail.Would love to be proved wrong, but a victory and the bonus point for the Monarchs I fear.
mike baker
Zischke doesnt ride technical tracks at all well. And is short on track time. R/R better option imo. 12 minutes ago, lukeellis said: Baffling why Zischke is guesting for Redcar, can only assume Kerr and/or Zack Cook must have been unavailable. Because he lives close and will be cheaper than southern based options ? Guests can be very expensive as they can demand over the going rate as they know you want them. Bears havent had a home meeting for ages and have two away fixtures to fork out for with no income through the turnstyles. Perhaps Mr.Parr reckons his other six will score enough to cover a low score, if that's what he gets. You never know, he could be the trump card ! lukeellis
So Erik Riss rides for nothing then?Doubt what you pay the guest would be much more if anymore than a fully fit Riss would earn on his ex home track. And both Kerr and Cook are up north tomorrow at Workington.
szkocjasid
Would Jacob Hook have been a better option than Zischke?

Zach Cook didn't do that well when we were at Edinburgh. Tobi was better than both Zach and Lewi, so if Redcar got to him before Plymouth would have been a better option. szkocjasid
Apparently Edinburgh questioned Cairns guesting, something about can riders with an assessed average guest for other teams?

Oh yeah. But they guest for other 2 pointers all the time so must be allowed. Probably just when it is a 4/5 assessed. As for Kerr & Cook , they possibly didn't fancy doing Edinburgh tonight and Workington tomorrow or maybe their clubs said NO ( clubs are approached first over use of their riders ). Interesting as Catalan doesn't seem to think so. I always thought clubs were asked if that rider is available first before they spoke to them. Clubs have to asked by the club wanting a guest, who then give permission or not.

Bit of a strange rule when you consider some riders race for 4 different teams in GB, others race here & abroad. So Poole could stop Kerr guesting in the Champ, but Sheffield allow him to guest in the Prem? Although I do think it would be good etiquette to ask a team first anyway. Would be a bit of a risk doing that, then if the situation was reversed, other clubs remember & don't allow their riders to guest for you? ONTWOMINUTES
Apart from king and tate bears were absolutely garbage.
Robinh88
Hopefully Tate can use tonight to have a good end to the season. I believe there is a good rider in there. Danny King continues his imperious form when Redcar were up against it. Great result all things considered.

Fortythirtyeight
Few of you might want to reconsider your views in Zischke , Saved the Bears the bonus point!
