Spoken like a True Fan…..NOT! it’s not like there’s lots of options out there but I do think the riders lack of consistency is costing the club dearly. the T.M. needs to be more ruthless in his tactical changes perhaps.

Just got home myself, took my daughter to this meeting for the first time, don’t think she’ll be back. We were on the back straight and got covered in dust. She went to the portaloo but came straight back saying it was “disgusting”. We moved to the home straight stand which was a decent view but she struggled with identifying riders and the inaccurate announcing didn’t help her trying to fill in the programme. Sent her for food and she missed several races and said she was bored watching the tractors. Guess it’s just us oldies who think all this is acceptable. Some good racing and the right rider won although I’m not a fan of refereeing by VAR !

Would you allow him to tell you where to live ? He’s been riding for years, so knows what’s best for him , and that’s his priority….HIM.

Bears vs Scorpions 29/05/2026 19:30 CL
Fortythirtyeight replied to IainB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As a SPEEDWAY fan I thought this was a very good meeting on a surprisingly good race track….well done the track curator. As a Bears fan ( sort of ) I’m astounded at how inconsistent the home riders are . A couple of impressive race wins from Edwards and Mulford added to two poor rides, Allen started well, finished poorly, same with Pijper. Lambert was trying hard and deserved a bit more than his 5 points , same with Scott but the whole team were consistently outgated or outpaced down the back straight by a battling Scorpions side who deserved their win. Decent crowd and only a little dust coupled with loads of kids an ice cream van and no freeloaders from the moto x track this week.😄 -

What are you insinuating ? He was riding at Ipswich last night , so what does it matter ? -
Then close your eyes when his races are on or just watch the tractors between heats 4,8, & 12….
-
Why ? when Lambert can do that job for half the money.
-
Didn’t take a genius to work it out.

Unlike certain clubs Redcar are famous for showing loyalty and if you were going to drop anyone…..it would be Jenkins . Harry Sadler is a M’Boro Tiger and only a reserve at NDL level currently.

Scunthorpe 2026

If you knew your speedway history you would know thumping teams doesn’t necessarily mean an increase in the attendance but does mean a very large increase in your wage bill. -

NDL EDINBURGH V M’BRO v EDINBURGH
Fortythirtyeight replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in National League Speedway
Yes, I got persuaded into watching live racing instead of the GP but witnessed the expected slaughter…..Ace v Academy again. Track was surprisingly good but racing not upto much as Jocks just too good. No detailed explanation on Ablitts ‘injury’. Male Loftus , Shane’s and Wood backed up by Halder and an impressive display from Whalley way too good for Tigers but I think replacing Anika in a race was unnecessary as the match was always going to be won. Showed the different clubs mentality when they gave Spooner an extra ride to test his bike and Southwick another chance to impress in heat 15 whereas the big guns came out for the Academy. The Big Match on the tele certainly affected the attendance. -
As there was nothing else within reasonable travelling distance I popped along to the dump last night and saw the ‘ Academy’ ( with two championship riders and an ex championship rider who could still do it ) hammer the Tigers…or should that be Ace Pijper?…. ( he was the only championship rider as Mudgeway is only a part time filling in sort of rider ). Very one sided , not great racing but then it is a bit of a ‘technical’ track for the non regulars. Interesting to see the first female in the NDL but the lady is a bit off the pace as yet. Tigers hampered by replacing Ablitt with Norman so only one heat leader but I’d say Norman , Sadler and Southwick did ok. Academy just too strong on their own track with ex Tiger Halder impressive .Shanes might just get in the senior team. The replay at Redcar will be a similar result as Ablitt is not riding ( speedway injury ?). it’s the only speedway on so do I go or watch the GP ? without Lindgren or Bewley …..

Foxes vs Lions PL R1 21/05/2026 19:30

The ref will just follow local protocol. If the CoC says we start at 7:30 with a parade the ref will just say OK. The ref merely controls the match not the clubs procedures. -

So far the crowd has been estimated as anywhere from 1,200 to 2,500…. Wish they would publish attendance figures ! -
Redcar V Poole Friday 15th May
Fortythirtyeight replied to slyfox's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have you watched anything from Poole ? Whilst Redcar is not as good as it was under previous track men it’s still , usually, a good race track and the racing was decent last night just that Redcar boys were well and truly outraced. -
I will.
