Sir Philip joins Speedway Futures

Recommended Posts

Like old Harry, Sir Phil has kept his 'love' of Speedway very quiet over the years?  He was the MP for Shipley so wonder he ever visited Odsal?

I seem to remember that a certain Nick Brown MP was the chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Motorcycle Speedway, was Sir Phil a member?

Oh, I wonder what happened to Nick Brown former MP?

It's only a couple of months since he became Chairman of the Greyhound Racing Board.

Before that he became Chairman of Star Bookmaking group.

Now he's suddenly into Speedway.

And he's also set to become non-executive director of The Racecourse Association in January   https://racecourseassociation.co.uk/rca-confirms-appointments-of-new-chief-executive-officer-and-non-executive-director/

He certainly seems to like picking up these roles since losing his seat in Parliament.   I guess you've got to replace the income from somewhere.

Question is who next ? I see Hugh Edwards is making a making a comeback, could he be the next high profile person to reveal his long time love of speedway, it’s hard to believe speedway is in the state it’s in with all these folk declaring they were secret speedway fans all along

Hopefully this group of high profile people can inject whatever it needs to resolve the issue within the sport, so it’s full steam ahead.

Don’t hold you’re breathe, people like Harry and Sir’s don’t do nothing for nothing, they are on to an earner some how and it seems to be at speedways expense, all is not well in speedway circles and I don’t think the self appointed saviours of speedway are exactly endearing themselves to a section of the bspl

Can’t see how they can milk the sport anymore. Be like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone.

An astute character.

Maybe but another self appointed character and that is what speedway futures is all about, get a deal of some company and keep the finders fee for themselves, yes that is business but speedway isn’t theirs to market, they haven’t paid for it, they have just took it and started a new company
