Gert Handbag
A local YouTube historian, "A walk with Phil" has produced a video of the site of the old stadium. He has also walked what would have been the old track. Phil, by his own admission, only went to Dudley Wood once but produces many videos of the black country, referencing what used to be on the sites in days gone by. I've enclosed a link, hopefully some Heathens fans and speedway fans in general, might find it worth a look. tyretrax
Back in the day I used to run the supporters bus to away meetings, I also led the war cries. After a victory at Cradley I jumped up on the dogtrack wall to lead the chant, I got as far as Give me a T.....and a big Heathen grabbed me and launched me over the Tigers supporters. Sad that they demolished the Leaning House of Dudley opposite the stadium, I've got a photo somewhere of the Glasgow supporters in a line leaning on the gable end of it. Happy days.

That’s what caused it to lean

Grachan Posted yesterday at 08:36 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:36 AM Fascinating video. Interesting that they kept the shape of the track with the road layout.

As I said, he isn't a big speedway fan. It was Pat Foley who christened it Scotsmon Bonk, I think?? Is there any news on the new land that the planners were approached with? I'm guessing it isn't good news if it is all quiet.
