European U 23 team Championships qualifying round Pardubice Saturday 20th April
DJC replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Not sure I’ve opened a can of worms? Pretty obvious that the family have invested a significant amount of time, effort and ultimately money in helping them progress. Dan deserves to be in the international set up at the younger levels but doesn’t seem to get picked for any- unless they have and haven’t taken the offers. Something fans will probably never be privy too! Although your accusation of opening a can of worms certainly could lead someone to think there is more to it…not for me to say though as I of course do not know anything! -

SGB official twitter page calling out how impressive he's been so far this year. You really couldn't make it up! -

They seem to have taken the Southgate approach. Pick on name, team and reputation not form It does feel like Boughen should be in and around the squad as he is widely lauded as the next big thing but Jenkins was a very odd choice for me. The Thompson family don't come across as not willing to travel to help aid their lads development (don't know anything about them to comment further). -

SGB set up really don’t seem to like the Thompson boys. Surely the way Dan has started the season vs Jenkins start would have warranted a place? Is it still Vatcher in charge or do Allen/Stead play a role? -
Isn't this the kind of thing Phil Morris should be preventing/commenting on with some justification around the decisions made?

Same here

Thanks Panther! Not surprised he didn't carry on, it got a bit tight there! I don't use FB - was the result posted on there?
-
Looks like he did but can’t find a result outside of the top 3. Paco, Vincentin, Smolinski

Sticking with Dan Thompson looks like great business from the Witches. Does Kerr ever get any luck when he starts going well?

Speedway of Nations 2024

Cheapest hotel for the duration I can find is £393 for two in the sports village so pretty close, cheapest tickets for two (my old man needs a seat) will be £304, £330 for a decent spot in the grandstand. £75 minimum for fuel. Best part of £800 before food and drink. No thanks, I'll watch it on TV if I can get it on the Discovery app as it probably won't all be on Eurosport again. Wonder how much of an effect it will have on the already dwindling GP attendance -

As much as I loath his approach, appears Woffinden was right that people are more interested in the drama behind the sport than the actual racing these days! -

Progressive as ever! what are the ‘vile off the track’ behaviour issues people are talking about on twitter for Zagar? -

Reading that having a quick 5 from work with a cuppa while the sun is blazing is making me more jealous of a PnP than I have in years! Enjoy it Comets fans, hopefully a great season ahead watching some top young prospects at what appears to be a great little set up!

Jensen would be the most likely there, I think if it was Nicol I think you'd have seen him around with Hancock over the last few days.
-
He's come across as a poundshop version of Conor McGregor in the last few years. The only time he's shown any aggression on the track since his last WC is when he upended that Polish lad from behind who had got on the track.
-
Might not have been Screeny and my memory isn't great but there's something in my mind about him stealing a bike from someone
-
Didn't he also steal one of Joe Screen's bikes when he was younger?
-
I really don't see it happening, but he would be an unbelievable coup if they did.
-
Was a bit tongue in cheek going off the 'rumours' about Cook but I'm sure I read that up to 4.2 in the PL converted would fit so it could still be Bellego. Didn't he end on a 4?
-
Good spot! Imagine it's wild and Bellego and Riss come in (well aware that Poland is likely to rule it out) but all a bit of fun!
-
Presumably said in jest but I don't see who else they could get in. Can't see Covatti back on a bike before the end of the summer, there were some really bad breaks for him. Not sure if it would be a laugh or cry moment.
-
I didn't say I had one - although for enough money there surely is someone out there for 'just 3 meetings'. But they were already 1.5 under the limit after they'd had increased averages of riders to make them get nearer to the limit. As others have pointed out, the initial poor building of the side makes it stick out more as it's essentially a no1 for a 45 year old on a 5 point average. He will start off well, if he doesn't suffer any ill effects from his recent (I think shoulder) surgery.
-
Starting nearly 4 points under the limit it shocking, even for a Rodger’s built side
