Thanks for that spanner47 lets hope that's correct. All very well some on here stating that this or that rider does/doesn't meet the criteria, when the fact is none of us know exactly what that criteria is.

Just watched the Berwick meeting on DVD from rerun productions as that was one of a few meetings I missed last season, what a cracker! Superb meeting.

Is it Ryan Douglas and Alex Davies that require visas at Scunny? Think both those two meet the qualifying criteria don't they? Will be interesting to see what they have to say in the morning.

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...

Mark Loram. All action racer and you knew you'd get your money's worth when he was in town.

It's for Cook as the Ipswich Star reported the other day that Louis is confident he'll be there, but he's yet to officially confirm. Obviously the line up could change depending on the outcome of the Visa issues.

Maybe the Workington boys were top of the list and are slowly working their way down.. Question is, was Gino near the top of the list and Louis already has the thumbs up hence the "no issues" comment only a few days ago, or is it a case of no issues SO FAR and they haven't got to our boys yet.. The fact is he hasn't finished in the top 4 of a state championship or acquired the magical 7.00 average, so unless some other criteria qualifies that hasn't been publicly mentioned, then perhaps we should prepare for disappointment also..

Well they didn't accept them at first because they appealed the initial rejection didn't they? After their appeal was also rejected they had no choice but to accept it and sign replacements. My point is this was a few weeks ago now so the other clubs affected will surely now know whether their riders will or won't be granted visas once applied.

    Ipswich 2015

Exactly. If they knew, then others should also know if any application would be accepted/rejected? the promotion must have had a green light of sorts that there are "no issues" with the riders getting their visas once applied for.

Probably, but it's not as if the PL was a stepping stone last year and this year he's going full time EL as he signed on again for PL. So maybe Louis was expecting to get more than just one year out of him? Plenty of us had Worrall on our wish lists and maybe he was on Louis' too we'll never know, but it sounds as though retaining him this year was never an option to the club rather than them not wanting him.

According to Chris Louis there are "no issues" regarding visa's for both Rohan Tungate AND Gino Manzares, but the process of getting them is a slow one and slower than he'd like. Both riders are pencilled in for the start of the season although Louis accepts they may miss the opening period. Do you read the Speedway Star Baldy? There was an interesting Ipswich section in there this week, with Chris Louis stating that he sees Morten Risager's move away as a temporary one and that he'll be back at Foxhall. Same can't be said of Ritchie Worrall though. Louis said that Worrall only treated Ipswich as a "stepping stone" and the article gave the impression that hell will freeze over before we see Worrall in Witches kevlars again!

Not too bad then TBF. We're always going to miss someone of King's calibre in the PL and although he hadn't signed for anyone else at the time we signed him, we always knew he'd do a deal with an EL club at some point so clashes were inevitable. Just gotta put up with it I suppose. Annoyingly Nielsen will miss a handful of meetings also but we knew that too.

He is, not sure how well he goes at the showground though, which is where he'll be guesting. Edit: You beat me to it Mr Mungo!

Not sure about after meeting laps, but this will be his competitive Foxhall debut

A little over 4 weeks until the Billy Sanders memorial kicks things off at Foxhall. In the Star today, Craig Cook (yet to officially confirm), Ben Barker, Mortens Risager, Adam Ellis, Robert Lambert and all the Witches will be the field Visa issues permitting. Also says King will ride the Foxhall leg of the double header with Peterborough on Good Friday, with Ricky Wells guesting for the evening fixture at the showground.

Isn't this the last season of Sackers Recycling 3 year sponsorship? I think it might be. Hopefully another deal can be agreed next winter.
  18. Foolishly I've been drawn in again. I've already stated weeks ago that I'd said my last word on the matter and I find myself "debating" with you again, you're quite right. I shouldn't have joined in the conversation in the first place, but alas it's too late. There are eyes on this forum as I'm sure you know, and I genuinely don't want to get myself in trouble (if I'm not already) by debating further. If it makes you feel any better, Lewis Blackbird is a Mildenhall asset. Now that IS my last word on the matter.
  19. I can't believe you're still banging this drum over and over again. I'm not debating this with you, you're wrong and that's a fact. You say you're a sponsor of Lewis and he's told you personally that he's a Mildenhall asset. I don't disbelieve you at all, and perhaps Blackbird does genuinely think he is a Mildenhall asset..
  20. Have they? Must admit, I always thought that EL clubs could sign "assets" without said rider even turning a wheel for them (albeit a limited number?), while a PL club had to sign a rider, and that rider had to complete 6 home and 6 away fixtures (or simply 12 fixtures?) before the rider became a club asset? I could possibly have completely made that up..

Oh dear that'll please the Louis'! Their biggest money spinner with normally a bumper crowd, will probably now turn in to a game of spot the fan!!

I would prefer King as captain for the reasons already stated. The only problem is that Hawkins was captain last year and he's still in the side this year, King wasn't here. So giving the captaincy to King would mean taking the job off Hawkins, which would be harsh and could possibly have a detrimental effect on Hawkins. So for that reason, I'd probably leave it with Hawkins.

Slightly different as Worky appealed a rejection. Doesn't sound like Manzares' has been rejected in the first place hence the "no issues" comment. If Workington or the riders have re-applied, had the requests rejected and then confirmation of an appeal rejected also, then I'd have thought Louis would have got some confirmation of a successful application also by now? Guess we'll just have to wait and see one way or the other.

@Mike_Bacon: @ipswichspeedway News from CL, cogs moving. No issues with Rohan or Gino getting visas. Yes some riders know they won't get 1 That was the tweet from the Ipswich Star sports journalist this morning. So after all that's been going and the "Workshop" that was attended by everyone last Friday, for Chris Louis to say this morning that there's no issue with visas, then Manzares must qualify. Somehow.
