tyretrax - true - maybe you were right - better benefits during the off season.

    2023 Playoffs

I often wonder what would happen if you had no rules about team building at all , just said each team must have 7 riders. Scrap averages completely for team building, jt retain them for statistical purposes. Some would say that the "rich clubs" would always win. Doesn't that happen now ?

22.09.2023 - Playoff SF, Scunny vs Poole

Firstly Poole have already won the 2023 Championship League. Well done Poole. The TV trophy (aka p. offs) are now to be decided. Not a Poole fan and it give me some pleasure to see someone else win the p.offs. Poole chucked it away at Wimborne Road last week, when strangely their home track prep. tactics failed them. Even Richardo Lawson couldn't get out of prepared starts . It's Scunthorpe's to lose - anything can happen is Speedway. I have seen it all believe me.

Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg

There was a time when you had to name a number 8 when using R/R. Many instances recently where teams usingR/R have suffered further injuries in a meeting and been forced to track only one rider in a race.

Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg

Just heard that the hinges on the Ippo pit gates have been damaged by high winds this evening. Ipswich have been in touch with near neighbours Kings Lynn who apparently have experience with pit gate repairs. First indications are that it will take one week to get someone to look at the job.

Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg

If Ippo get in quick they could call off the second leg based on a Met Office forecast of a shower for Thursday.

Danish Grand Prix - Vojens - 16th Sep

IMO the Competition referee is culpable for allowing Smarslick to practice in the wrong leathers. ? Given the importance of sponsors , should the competition referee not check all riders machines and clothing for conformance ?

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

Realistically, are KL going to need a speedway team in 2024? Thought Keith Chapman was retiring ?

Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg

So Belle Vue handed a “good fortune” bye into the poff final where Sheffield will once again show who is the better team on aggregate.
  11. This play off lark is enough to p. off the most dedicated of fans. Looking at he results so far you can see the top two teams in the CL not even competing in the p.off final. A completely contrived finish to the season. Still might me the last ever CL p.offs as the CL may no longer exist next season.

    Sheffield Tigers 2023

In the interests of the sport, Sheffield will surely be allowed to sign /use /loan/borrow whoever they like …….Bartosz Smarslik would be a good crowd puller …. Belle Vue threaded a needle through the rule book last year so there is precedent which counts for a lot English/ Welsh law. If they need any help I am certain Ford and Middleditch will be able to help them. :-0

    Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship

Sad to read of another incident witha spectator requiring medical attention. This seems to be more common now than ever...... I do hope the person involved is OK.

    Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship

What had Glasgow to race for?? ... well down on points early on and no chance of even getting a sniff of the aggregate point ..... using a tacsub early would have achieved nothing. Travelling with no number 8 when you are using R/R is always a risk. Shouldn't be allowed as it sells the public short with 3 rider races.

    Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship

counts for nothing of course .... only the p.off final matters. Even if Poole finish second the only team capable of beating them on aggregate aren't going to pick Poole in the first match of the p. offs.

    Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship

Have Poole faced any team at full strength at home this season ? Predict a big home win. Are the track staff allowed to grade the track at Poole after Mr Middleditch has spent all day supervising the prepping the starts to suit his riders ?

Any reason why Lee Kilby is wearing a baseball cap back to front. Looks a bit silly IMO

    Peterborough v Sheffield - 21st Aug

Watching speedway on Monday evenings on BT sport is now becoming a joke. This week's effort recorded only 7 heats and then stopped. The other evening got a whole load of motocross or some such rubbish. Seems the schedules keep being f****d about and my recording box cannot cope after I have put "record the series" Useless Discovery + coverage .

    King's Lynn v Ippo 17/08/23

This must rank as one of the most audacious stunts ever since Belle Vue signed R. Lambert for the p. offs last year. We can only assume Lambert is a good deal cheaper per meeting than Lagoota, as the Lynn owner repeatedly has claimed the KL side is "over budget" The entire structure of British Speedway is akin to a game of musical chairs with riders shuffling around from team to team. Every year this forum brings me a good few laughs. You think it cannot get any worse but it does.

    King's Lynn v Ippo 17/08/23

Think we can all guess the situation at Kings Lynn Mimmo. They are losing money every week . The current owner doesn't want to run speedway and wants to sell the club. Surprise surprise no one wants to buy it. Seems to me the damage to the club has already been done - crowds at Lynn have plummeted ..... "slagging off" the owner will not make a jot of difference. Sad really as I have sent many happy times at Saddlebow Road in the past, and they were a great club. Like so many others in British Speedway over the past decade can see them folding at the end of this season Insert other media

    British Final 2023

Seems barely enough interest from riders to run one “final” let alone qualifying meetings! How would they fit in theses meetings in an already overcrowded fixture list . Until the “British champion “ is granted a wildcard into theGP circus this is a nothing meeting.

    Poole v Oxford 9/8/23 Championship

    S. Shovlar commented " And Middlo is not our trackman " oh really .... I didn't know that. I am new to the sport, read that Mr. N. Middleditch told the speedway star that he has the start grids prepped to suit his own riders. F.T.G. then .....

    Poole v Oxford 9/8/23 Championship

Doctor Middleditch is already at the wimpborne road circuit ……working hard on the starts. Predict a big Poole win with most heats “FTG”

    Edinburgh Vs Poole 4th August

I have always said and I still say that any abandoned fixtures should not be rerun , but each team awarded 1 point. Would incentivise the promotions to race the fixtures - and prevent casual call offs due to reasons various. Might be considered harsh ..... but we would see fixtures complete by the cut off and the p. offs being run in a timely manner. As for the fixture list .... never been any different in recent seasons.

    British Final 2023

It’s a nothing meeting now. There was a time when it was the route to the World Championship Final. Nowadays it’s a BSPA 3d ( that’s 1 1/2 p) a point meeting. No surprise at the lack of interest from riders.
