    Mildenhall 2013

8.55 left, who's your money on? Irving, Steve Worrall, James Brundle, or even Ben Morley.
  2. Islander15

    Stoke 2013

Coventry only have 3.35 for their last rider so that rules out Carr, seems so unfortunate for him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Mildenhall.

    Averages

Yes he could ride NL if his average is below 6.00 and without a PL club, or below 5.00 with one. I'm not sure who you're refering to but if he achieved an NL average last year then that is used, otherwise its the last average he attained in the NL.Unless his PL average is more recent, and that is doubled (so 4.90 x 2 = 9.80). I think that's right anyway!

    Who's Hot In 2013 ?

Interesting to see that you three all seem to rate Coventry, whereas I don't. No disrespect to Joe Jacobs but I don't see him as a true #1 and I think the same about Sarjeant. I can't see much if any improvement from Trevor Heath and I suspect their 3 pointer won't get close to what Greaves would have got. All in all, I can see them being hard to beat at home, but not so good away. Whilst I think Buxton could end up with a good team. If they go for Blacklock, Branford & Wright that still leaves 6.20 for a solid middle order rider, and Atkin will look after the reserves I'm sure. So as Vog has done, I'll go out on a wim and predict a very early season table: 1. Mildenhall 2. Dudley 3. Isle of Wight 4. Stoke 5. Buxton 6. Coventry 7. King's Lynn 8. Kent One thing though I can definitely see happening is no-one will run away like Dudley and Mildenhall this year. And seeing as this is a 2013 thread, any date for the AGM in January?

    Who's Hot In 2013 ?

Most improved will be Adam Ellis and I can see the league number 1 being between Tom Perry and Stefan Nielsen. As far as teams are concerned Mildenhall look strongest atm but Isle of Wight and Dudley aren't far behind.

    Buxton

Latest signing is Matt Williamson, a 20 year old from Bury who comes with a motocross background.

    Mildenhall 2013

Am I missing something here but Kerr isn't in Leicester's 1-7 so why is it assumed he'll be there?
  9. Islander15

    Dudley 2013

I don't think the teams are too dissimilar. Both have a decent top 2, a young second string that could massively increase his average or drop it, and a useful reserve alongside a newcomer (I know Freemantle has had a season, but he missed the whole of last year through injury and isat a new track).
  10. Islander15

    Stoke 2013

4.59 so his average is too high, but ironically Connor Coles would fit on 4.30!
  11. Islander15

    Stoke 2013

Who is there though that has a average below 4.32 and isn't a 3 pointer? Dan Stoneman is back at Smallbrook, I expect Ryan Blacklock to stop at Buxton, Chris Widman, Richard Andrews, and the only other rider I can think of is Tom Hill.
  12. Islander15

    Stoke 2013

If you finish off with Adam McKinna, Liam Carr, Emerson Jones and another 3 pointer (Liam Rumsey?), it doesn't look a bad team but I can't see it challenging for honours come October, unless Jones turns into something special.
  13. Islander15

    Isle Of Wight 2013

4 excellent signings so far, Tom Perry was top of my wish list but I didn't think we'd see a new arrival at number 1 but am I glad I was wrong. This side looks like it could genuinely compete for the title imo! ... And Danny Warwick and Paul Starke are confirmed that they won't be at smallbrook next year.

    Kent 2013

Supposedly based on this years Rye House team. I don't know if any of the old Sittingbourne riders would return, Mark Baseby perhaps and what's Harland Cook doing now?
  15. Islander15

    Dudley 2013

Any idea what Blackbirdactually averaged last year, because his 7.01 is from 2011 isn't it? You could have gone with a 3 pointer,Ritchings & JWW.
  16. How many is too many? For what Scunthorpe do for the sport we can't afford to lose them in any capacity.

    Isle Of Wight 2013

The potential at reserve is frightening! Overall that is a good solid team with no weak links in it, but I would have thought Nathan Stoneman would be wanted back by Mildenhall, and I thought Anderson was an Aussie thus ruling him out. Maybe wrong though. I also think 2013 will be a breakthrough year for Dan Stoneman, and I've thought that 2x 3.00 reserves wouldn't necessarily hurt the team as long as Dan can cope with, what I think, would be his first time riding in the top 5 initially.

    Isle Of Wight 2013

I would love you to be right greyhoundp about cleaning up the league, but what I don't think you'll be right about us signing a number 1 other than Danny. But it's Wednesday, so what was this supposed big announcement...? If the points limit is 38 then I would like to see a team like this: 1. Danny Warwick 7.01 2. Ben Hopwood 6.16 3. Aaron Baseby 5.26 4. Paul Starke 5.70 5. Lewis Blackbird 7.01 6. Dan Stoneman 3.83 7. Adam Ellis 3.00 Total: 37.97

    Mildenhall 2013

Looking at some of the teams Mildenhall could line up as next year I think they are favourites even at this early stage. The likes of Stefan, Jacobs and Blackbird at the top of the team can all put over a point on their average, whilst Bates could put over 2 points on his and Stoneman could double his. As to the other 2 riders I'd go for Baseby and Terry-Daley, if the limit is 40 otherwise a 3 pointer instead of Baseby.

    Whats Needed In 2013.

Coventry joining the NL, have I missed that? Keep averages to be changed at 3 home & 3 away, but include the first round of the KO cup, because everybody is in it! Make sure league meetings, KO cup etc are done by mid-September, so October will see the play-offs and finals only! Whilst these meetings don't have tactical rides. Reduce the points limit to 37.5 or 38, like Philk has said, but I would also make it mandatory that both reserves that start the season have a 3.00 average. And get rid of the stupid 1 rider over 30 rule. I don't understand why this league doesn't allow guests for anyone other than your #1. Surely this can change, to create more even teams in the event of an injury happening with not time to sign anyone (dudley in the play-offs for example).

    National Trophy

Islanders are at Buxton on Sunday 21st also... or just give the trophy to Mildy...
  22. Found a stream racers & royals?
  23. Any updated rider line-up/riding order would be greatly appreciated. Lets make tomorrow a night Lee would be proud of! Updates are here: http://speedwayupdat...ad=10846&page=1 #RICO

Play Offs, Who Will Pick Who

I assume Newcastle picked Leicester first, but who did Scunny go for first? Edinburgh or Workington?
  25. Islander15

    Kl V Iow

He's born to English parents and has lived in France pretty much all his life, including now I believe. He's declared as the Islanders' number 8 and has appeared in about 3 or 4 meetings this season averaging around the 5 point mark. I'm not definitely sure of his age, but he was originally in the British under-19 final.
