    National League 2022

There was a rule that if you’d ever achieved an average above 4.00 in the second tier then you couldn’t double up. If memory serves me right, it stopped Tony Atkin & Jon Armstrong getting short second tier roles. But you seem right about Clegg so they must’ve formalised that rule change now!

    Kent 2022

It’s his latest NL average that you use, so 9.17 for Morley. Which tbf is more indicative of his abilities b

    National League 2022

Good to see more teams and importantly more fixtures to give the riders and fans a better and more consistent campaign.

    Belle Vue Colts 2022

Looks like the team to beat! The McGurks are only going one way after a great debut season! There’s been some criticism for Smith in this thread, but if he can ride anywhere well it’s the NSS and he’s often had stagnated season so it’ll benefit him to start at the same time as everyone else at a club he knows. Also remember it’s still a weakened NL compared to pre-Covid, it’s just stronger than last season! JPB has had a season to get dialled back in and his average will surely only go up, the question is how much will he push on. Then of the 3 newbies, 2 of them are 2 of the best we have in that age group. Ablitt has been pushed around a bit for his young age so hopefully he can settle down this season and just maintaining his average at a new track would show improvement imo but come the business end of the season and he’ll know the fastest way around. Freeman has always impressed me and he did way over 4 meetings last season so he must have a real average now, but we’re being kept in the dark. Then there’s the new kid Hodder, but with a solid team and always potentially the league’s best reserve beside him there’ll be no pressure whatsoever.

    Confirmed Signings for 2022

The teams are upto date now that they are confirmed. However the BSPL still haven't released the final season averages, so I can only work off the most recently published edition at present.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

Will you be live streaming home meetings? And a reduced price delayed video that you can watch at your leisure would be a good addition too. Realistically Scunny fans that are available on a Friday night will be there, but if you have a prior arrangement then watching a recording is the next best thing.

Blair is back. Is the plan to give him a Bandits ride in 2023?

    NDL 2022 - AGM & League composition

As long as the fixtures aren’t all over the place like they were this season. The fans and riders need some consistency to actually get into the campaign. And they should bring back the pairs, fours & NLRC to add something different and some additional meetings to what will inevitably be a short league season again.

    If Tero turns up.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

You could swap Tero & Lambo for Auty and someone like Shanes, Morris or a new 5.00 rider. If Rob is all about home wins then getting Auty in as a third heat leader, and therefore less pressure, will only help that. Whilst Shanes or Morris are decent young riders too and would realistically sign.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

Yes a good guess. A shame really as it has the makings of a decent team but Aarnio is a poor choice as third heat leader.

    Oxford Cheetah Cubs 2022

That doesn’t include October meetings and he had away meetings against Leicester & Kent.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

Kinsley willl score some useful points at home on a low average but predictably will be poor away. It’s not too much of an issue though seeing as it looks like Rob is setting up to win home meetings and realistically if there’s a decent reserve next to him, he’ll only take 3 rides at away meetings anyway. So helps you to win at home and his score is nearly irrelevant away.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

He’s a quality rider who scores good points and gets fans in through the turnstiles! Having said that, a top 2 of Douglas & Allen is more than good enough.

    Plymouth Gladiators 2022

Looks a useful start to team building, but it’s always harder to judge when you don’t have other teams to compare against. Lawson should be a genuine number 1 and MPT will provide decent back up home and away. Kennett may be on the way down, but last season there were extenuating circumstances and he comes on a low average. He’s used to riding at number 1, not number 3! Whilst Atkins & Bowtell are both young and on the rise. Neither are progressing at lightning speed but both are gradually getting better and that’s the main thing.

Do the Polish count the French League? If so that could discount Ellis, unless they just count the major leagues?
  18. Islander15

    Berwick Bullets 2021

I’m hoping that they’ve finally realised that the points limit this season was ridiculously low and, even though Bickley will be one of the league’s top riders, there won’t be an influx of newbies for him to lap! Let’s be honest, there isn’t a host of 3.00 riders to flood the league at reserve this coming season anyway!

    KENT ROYALS 2020

The pinpoint is the definition of unattached. Do they mean an unattached 3.00 rider like Jason Pipe had said months ago, or is it now any rider not attached to an NL declaration who has a lower NL average than the rider they replace? The latter permits Morley, Verge & Harris and from memory is how RTD has got a few guest bookings since the demise of Newcastle.

    KENT ROYALS 2020

The Leicester match is probably more saleable to fans, with the Thompson twins and a bigger named club. Realistically Kent know they’ll not run one home meeting so have picked the least enticing one on paper, and with zero chance of any away fans coming, to not run.

National League 2021 - has it been abandoned?

So Berwick have ended their season. Mildenhall will move above them if they win 1 meeting, from their final 2, or get a draw and losing bonus point. Kent can also move above them by winning all 4 home meetings! But the problem is Mildenhall haven’t got a date to go to Armadale atm and Edinburgh are still in the play-offs and KOC! Whilst Kent only have 3 Tuesdays left in Oct but have 4 home meetings! Its been such a shortened and disjointed NL season yet all the meaningful fixtures are taking place in October and it looks like 1 or 2 might not take place at all! Fair play to Berwick for getting all their fixtures done in a timely manner if they do win the league but everybody wants to see everybody actually finish their seasons!
  24. A good idea to add the U21s and make a weekend of it. Also a good idea to bring the World Cup back but they’re still using the argument of including more countries by still running SON.
