It was,but there still needs to be improvement from Toft imo.He was beaten so easily in ht14 when we needed something from him.Riss of all people was in a different postcode to him. Also Iversen's mistake against Wright possibly cost us a draw, although in his defence the track grade and watering made it pretty slippery, they both nearly had each other off a couple of times.Onwards and upwards though but we still need another signing imo, because Klindt won't make the difference between winning and losing.

Toby was excellent tonight.Mind you that last bend in the last race when he locked up how Tungate didn't wipe him out i will never know.Big well done to Tungate for some how avoiding him.

    That was a bit better.
We should have around 7.5 points to replace MPT or Patryk with at the end of the month. I hope we try and use them.

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in averages after just two or three meetings but you are right, if there are points available then we need to be ruthless and use them, will be tough on whoever gets the heave ho but we need to win meetings

I know it's early days to quote averages Baggy. I'm just using them to put my point across as to how badly most( 5 if you include Klindt) of our riders have started the season. I'm sure most of them would sort themselves out given the time, but unfortunately we don't have much of it. On the plus side, Ben and Anders have started  well:)

Christ, that 3 and 4 do not look good

Me too . It is worrying. We have to many riders that have started badly. Niels has scored 9 points in his first 2 meetings, riding at No.2 . 5 points coming from the 2 heats 8's. MPT has averaged 3.43 from his first 3 meetings, and Patryk has average 3.00, that includes 1 win and 6 lasts frim 12 races. Even Toby has started slowly, with 4 wins and 3 lasts out of 15 races to average 6.40.

I made it that we are 2.66 under the limit at the moment. That is with Klindt in for Vad. It will probably get worse after tonight's meeting. So at the end of the month, we need to make a change or 2 if we are serious of getting that 4th play off spot. I know it all  comes down to ££ and rider availability at the end of the day though.

Stinks of we’re going to get stuffed so call it off and we’ll have better riders in team next time we meet

I might be in the minority, with Tom in for Ben Basso, is a like for like with the form Toms in. NKI has started the season really bad. Lawson is a big improvement. It was going to strengthen us. I think there might be something else going on.

A change/changes coming 1st May I think… they may be wanting to wait until then? Still very strange

I was adding a bit to my post when you posted lol :t:

"Totally agree. There must be something going on behind the scenes. The form Tom is in, he should of covered for Ben. While Puk has scored 9 points from 2 meetings, with 5 of them coming from 2 heat 8's. Lawson was a big improvement. The mind boggles."

    Added

"Klindt will fit for MPT or Paddy before our next scheduled home meeting in early May. But no better than Lawson for Puk tomorrow  "

There must be something going on, I can't imagine it's Basso & Puk being absent as the two guests looked good. There must be riders from either (both) teams who can't/won't travel from Poland or something. All very odd.

Unless they are privy to a forecast that nobody else is but that seems highly unlikely.

Lawson guesting for Iversen and I guess either Brennan or Harris will be guesting for Basso… Brennan has been on fire though so I’ll imagine it will be him

Bombers average is to high at 6.89.

With the +5% home guest rule, we have 6.66 for Ben, and 6.86 for NKI. Lawson is 6.67 so is in for Niels. Tom fits for Ben, if 2 guests are allowed for your 3rd and 4th place riders in your averages. I'm not sure without looking it up.:t:

Personally I think only Rowe and Basso have looked themselves.

Musielak even hasn't been that great, performed last night but you would expect that at Sheffield.Awfully slow at the NA last week.Tarasenko has had too many E/Fs for it to be unlucky imo.Think we have signed Wojdylo purely on his Showground form,he has been awful and totally outshone by Rowe, should be the other way around.Looks like MPT has had his day unfortunately.NKI I feel may get his 6 something average and I would stick with him for now.But changes are needed already imo before a top 4 place gets away.

Buster has said he has spent the.most he has ever done on a Lynn team this season,if that is the case then heads need to roll as they are seriously underperforming.

Are riders like lebedevs,Huchenbeck good enough to filll the shoes of say MPT and Wojdylo and would they be willing to come over here.Lebedevs has stated he would be interested.

If we loose at home on Monday at home the Sheffield, that will be 4 meeting gone already. The trouble is, you could argue that 5 of our riders have started poorly. Although Vadim had a mare with bike issues, he averaged 7 in his first 2 meetings. I know its to early for stats, but it just highlights how bad some riders have started .Up to date Ben 7.50, Toby 6.40,Vad 5.85 Anders 5,43 ,NKI 4.50, MPT 3.43, Patryk 3.00.

I'd keep Toby, Vad, Ben, and Anders, as i think Toby and Vad will come good. The other 3 riders would be on borrowed time for me. Probably harsh at this stage, but top 4 will pass us by before you know it.

KL are in big bother already.

That was always the risk when Buster banked on Tarasenko and Wojdylo being mustard all season.

    You need Klindt ASAP!

I could see this coming. I posted at the beginning of the week on the Aces v Stars tread. Loose at home on Monday, and the 1st 5 meetings gone already. For me, I worry about Niels, MPT, and Patryk, at this stage. Although the latter showed what he can do at the Showground last season, so I’d give him a bit more time. Klindts average is a tad to high for MPT or Paddy. Off the top of my head I think we are 1.42 under the limit as it stands.

I don’t think mustard is the right word, for Vad and Paddy. maybe expected them to add a little to their averages, which they might yet. Rob must of had a say in team building ?

Lynn's reserves should outside Sheffield's imo, so that should help Stars at least get close to 40

I'm hoping Patryk Wojdylo can get a decent return tonight,  if he can make a few starts on a big track that could suit him .Although he scored 3 from reserve on his first visit there last season.

Sounds like there will be no Iversen, reportedly concussed from a crash at the Danish Championships tonight.

To be honest, i don't think it will make much difference to outcome of the meeting.. Puk hasn't had a great start to the season. With RR everyone apart from Toby can take a ride, or maybe Scott, Brennen at No.2 ?

  12. 6 minutes ago, Bagpuss said:

I'm not for a minute saying we should do it but would he fit for MPT and use the remaining points up?

We are on 38.58. We have 1.42 to play with. Klindt is 1.55 higher than MPT. So not yet. I'm not sure if i would do it myself this early, what with Klindts bad injury at the end of last season.

Klindt sacked by Oxford already. Seemed to finish the season at Lynn fairly well last year...

He started last year of badly as well. But as you say finished the season the season much better.
