If a young rider wanted experience then the team assembled has it in bucketfuls so they should be able to attract the best around.
-
So thinking aloud .... would rev limiters work if introduced at NL level for all new riders entering the sport? Would the age of the engine matter if second hand as opposed to brand new? Promoters could give incentives to riders to go so many meetings before an engine needed attention.
-
Negative response may I say - I sponsored a NL rider for a season and yes it's a struggle but he had little guidance apart from his grandfather who acted as mechanic and transport. His education was to lean on the job and he had bright future until it became too expensive to continue. The last resort being a blown engine after being fobbed off with some dodgy parts I believe. Dog eat dog at all levels and it's not surprising the UK is light years behind the major Speedway countries where they look after Juniors throughout their development from a much younger age.
-
Why?
-
Can't these things be tried in the NL where riders learn the skills etc. Educate them from the start not half way through or at the end of their careers
-
Ive noticed that riders are doing far less practise starts these days so is this as a result of the many reruns we seem to have? Perhaps the referees need to be educated in engine wear and be less aggressive over starting procedure.
-
Going back to the old race format means reserves won't have such an effect on a teams scoring.
-
That's why to be a promoter you need a small fortune behind you - after first starting with a large fortune!

Go and stand in the corner!

The investment in the club is encouraging and is in line with what has happened at Glasgow.BMR are a professional motor sport organisation and have drivers competing at the top - last year was a get in and see how it goes year but it was always going to be top league for these guys.

Probably but I'm sure they're too professional to interfere with business - anyway are you postponing your move north for a year?

Just announced Scott Nicholls has signed .............

Totally agree Batchelor deserves very little support in the UK and should ride abroad where his performances have been surprisingly better!

GWC replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sorry but is there some 4th dimension portal where this information is transmitted from! -
The BSPA might have thought that with such reorganisation introduced in one season that grading riders is preferable to using cast iron averages - but they haven't and now riders have a devil of a time sorting a team place.

So far all the rumours heard have been correct so the last and possibly most unrealistic was .......Tai Woffenden

Your timing on shifting base couldn't be worse Shads!

The bottom PremGB will probably be so battered by then that averages won't matter!
-
The vibes you are giving out is that GB speedway needs change so long as it doesn't affect Poole! If the EL and PL were to move closer then the changes are correct and the 'top' riders can be employed but at a considerable cost to overall team building. Fairs fair for all and if it doesn't suit then yes by all means move on.

Matt Ford says he doesn't want a weaker EL far from it, wants it stronger by attracting top names back. Is he just making a play for his own business or does he see it as being the saving of Speedway in the UK? I started going before MF probably ever thought of the sport and my overwhelming desire is to see it survive and live within its means and not put copious amounts of cash into the pockets of riders who seem to have little time for the EL.
-
In one corner you have Poole Wolves maybe Swindon wanting a stronger EL in the other is the rest who want it weaker. Already lost Lakeside so where does this send a message to ......... Mr Ford
-
Hardly or didn't you notice the number of close meetings this season?
-
So would the PL have survived without EU riders coming in - promotions neglected training their own for ready made available but the standard went up considerably. The foot and mouth disaster 15 years ago did much damage to grass track in UK which historically produced many young riders for Speedway.
