    bandits 2020

I'm sure that the early price looks not too bad however when compared to last season the early price has unless I'm completely mistaken been put up £10 for a pensioner and in addition it is apparent that there is no match program in on the tickets this year for either adult or pensioner versus that of last year. In essence a bit of a hike to the price for a visit every week when you add the program to your visit. I'm unsure how this additional price has been placed on the pensioner ticket bearing in mind they have paid significant money to the club for a number of years. Unsure if there may have been a better and fairer interest in adding the £10 to the adult ticket and leaving the pensioner as is. On a positive the kids club is in my view a good one and will bring in a small sum that wasn't previously there and more importantly hopefully encourage more of tomorrows fans through the gate in turn increasing parent numbers alongside family friends that don't normally attend. Unsure how the use of social media including club web site will look in the season ahead. Can only hope that it will be used a bit more and also more swiftly than it has been. Sometimes wondered if there was some significant time delay in items being posted and them appearing online after the pigeon arrived with the message in respect of announcements with programs being printed in advance of a meeting having more up to date information at times that the website..... Perhaps more proactive use of this medium to generate interest may lead to more revenue for the club. Unsure how the team will go this season, hope I'm wrong but I can see some early changes having to be made......

A very poor result to end the season on! Lets look ahead to 2020 with any luck we will be racing again however a few changes are needed to try and reduce the negativity on here and in the crowd at times. I think for a start a more pro active social media footprint would help a lot, its not like the team is or even should be a last minute secret however that is how it appears. Could do some more around online sales of merchandise with perhaps some signed material that would gain monies for the club. How about the ability to purchase some DVD's of the racing as well. It is recorded however the outcome of the recordings seems impossible to get hold of. Again money that could be helping towards the club. With any luck other will have some ideas as well which may help going forward.

    Berwick v Redcar 9/6/18

Have got to say from our view in the stadium which was unhindered it was apparent in heat 13 that unless yellow and white were looking like they may get into the 1st bend in a 1-5 position a bike was being laid down! In fairness the first stop of that pantomime heat appeared genuine. The riders were clearly in command of that heat as the ref appeared to have a fixation for all 4 back to the extent that when the tapes got demolished it was almost a surprise when the much awaited exclusion came on. Some good racing and if anyone moans about Summers hows about Proctors exits from bend 4 erring towards dangerous on at least one occasion. In all a well deserved win for the best team on the night however the standard of referee this year has sadly been poor why they are not pushing on with 2 minute calls when there are issues at the tapes and a bit consistency when it comes to a rider being at the rear dropping his machine into bend one being excluded as it should be would be nice. Have to say a lot of well deserved negative comments being aired towards the person in the box who was sadly letting riders dictate things for a period of time last night in turn delaying the meeting himself! In a sport that is desperate to get fans back through the gates some of the referees and indeed rulings by the BSPA have sadly appeared to act to the contrary.
  4. Have to agree here. At least when Dick or Dennis take to the mike it is clear unlike all the shouting and roaring that comes from the centre green these days!
  5. Perhaps the shale blowing up from the track got in the refs eyes on a couple of occasions. 2 howlers by her yet again!!! John Lindman has been a disaster just hope now that he is In reserve he doesn't start costing us points as a low scoring one! Well done to the Gap following his move into the main body of the team.

Unsure why they have decided to hold press and practice on a Thursday night given most people who travel are working a fair distance away that day! Not the best for supporters given a Saturday night track!

Well as nice as Summers is and yes he was in the crowd a bit at Berwick on a Saturday night I am not overly inspired by this signing.'Shielfield Park is a track Summers has at times been untouchable on' mmm also been a track that he has been a serious hit and a miss on....... I hope I'm wrong however we need some strength in the team and some strong heat leaders.

We have been there before with Edberg. There are lots of others that should be in the line up before he is.

Personally don't see Summers as a number 1 for us. His performances aren't consistent enough in my personal opinion to be in that position. He is a good rider in fairness but we need a solid number 1 from the start of the season. The difference consistency brings at number 1 was well demonstrated by Nick this season.
  10. Was a great result and just shows that the riders we ended up with have the potential to stack up the point. 2 fine scalps in the form of Edinburgh and Sheffield. Have to say very fortunate that a very dangerous few races for Bates did not lead to an accident. Berwick would really struggle as a mid week track I feel. The few meetings there have been over the last number of years did take in a few but that was Sky Sports and end of season racing. Don't think it work every week.
  11. Another good result last night in a match that I though may well have went the other way. Some good scoring for the Bandits and David HOWE what a night with heats 13 and 15 being spot on and showing that he was a worthy addition to the team. Think the learning point for R T Daley is the race ends when you cross the line as he should have taken the deserved point from Davey who was far from what you normally see in a Monarchs race jacket. Whilst Morris may head off after this season I would certainly like to see an early commitment towards both David Howe and Jye.
  12. Great to see another victory for the Bandits who are looking quite strong just now. Whilst the track was a bit slick last night it was the same for both teams. Morris nice and fast and the Gap got a good few points in. Good to see Jye also moving up well into the team with Kevin also scoring well. David has been a good signing so far and despite not getting all the scores last night he got 2nd and 3rd places and 3 of his 5 also seen Cook in the race. He clearly tries and I would be more than happy to see him as an early signing for next season!. Hopefully another few points over the next few weeks to end an unlucky season. Also a good few pounds collected for the Ben fund!

    Berwick 2017 50th Year

There has been some great racing this season with the track looking well. Credit to the work that has also been done to keep meetings on with the use of the track covers, not so easy for the remaining meetings due to the return of the football season but fingers crossed. Luck hasn't been on our side with all of the injuries suffered however there have been some good signings.HOWE, MORRIS, ETHERIDGE being top of the bundle. Hopefully some of these names will be top of the list for signing ahead of next season. Fair selection of merchandise available, handy addition for food sales in the back straight as well. Four more home wins and it will round off a poor season on a high. Well done young Leon Flint as well a young rider who will hopefully continue his winning ways when he steps up to the 500cc class.
  14. What a great meeting with Nick showing what a great rider he is! David Howe this season has also been a real positive signing with a hope that his name will be on the team sheet for next season. A pretty poor crowd in attendance however a great positive when the centre green presenter was silenced due to the technical difficulties, the neighbouring houses must have been as glad a most of the spectators at that. Too much screaming and shouting down the mike has seen it going faulty!

    Berwick 2016

More positive stuff from the Bandits promotion. John has done a power of stuff to keep the sport alive in Berwick over the years from main sponsorship through to taking them on. Fingers crossed it pays off with a good 2016 season and BIGGER crowds crossing the gates to ensure we have the speedway for a number of years ahead!
