King's Lynn Stars 2017
Sidney the robin replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think he averaged 7.43 for Lynn in 1975 in his double up year people often forget he had a decent WF record and also won a Longtrack title all achieved in 8 years 75/83. -
So you are saying the rich dodging taxes is more acceptable than somebody watching a three o'clock kick off on a Saturday really.😕
-
So the rich who dodge paying the right amount of tax are they thieves? but on a larger scale.

When you look at 15 year olds like Bickley going in the NL and yes he is a prospect and compare him to Lee what a difference. At 16/17Lee was a freak a one off i think his first big scalp was Ray Wilson.??Lee is certainly one of the best riders i have ever seen in my lifetime Ward is the only young rider that comes close to him for me. -
A well over the top post god what a DRAMA QUEEN you are streams have been going on for years get over it.90 per cent of the workforce i work with watch sport all week on Mobdro and Cody hardly crime of the century is it are we ALL scum and lowlife.?

British Speedway - Dead Or Alive?
Sidney the robin replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
My thinking of things is whoever wins the league are champions. The other three join up have a interest and also the team who wins the league can get the double.A proper league winner going into a cup competition would that not be good i think it could ŵork. -

And that is not good Barney, even now the NL is more about winning for me that league is only there for one reason to give the young uns a chance.Hopefully then to help to produce the likes of Bewley,Parkinson, Hume, Smith,Jenkins (ect)who can go on to progress.I watched the NL last year and i was amazed by the standard terrific not many wobblers about. -

We all moan and whinge about the sport but for me it is worth the 17 pound entrance fee.Last year i went to Scunthorpe the once i saw a cracking meeting and came away thinking wow this Sport can be great.I know everywhere is not like Scunny but the sport can still be great and the product is there..My take is i don't mind what level it is as long as the racing is decent i am happy.I also don't care about winning or losing as long as i have enjoyed the evening and can go home knowing that i have been entertained. -
Quite agree in the good old days😅how many lower end riders were homer riders quite a few.If you can win all your home meetings and try and pick up points away anything you get is a bonus.
-
What do you predict he will average what do you hope?.What i like about the PL is there are alot of 2 pointers or low averaged riders that have been given a chance to gain experience and improve.

My favourite Oxford days were when Kilby was a Rebel and later George Hunter in there NL days. Also in the Nielsen days his clashes with Gundersen/Knudsen were brilliant to watch Oxford then had that superb grandstand great viewing.Other riders i liked at Oxford were Sorensen,Dugard,Lausch great days. Also Steve can you remember that big Individual meeting was it the supporters club trophy? see that a few times a really good field was always assembled. -

Yes not a bad rider, Jan Zabik, Piotr Pyszny are two other poles who come to mind Pyszny i thought could of been half decent. -

At PL level most clubs have a few two pointers who are of the same level which is good.I hope Ipswich use Hume/Mountain all year away could be tricky at times but both have bright futures Hume especially.Bacon i believe will find it harder but see him once at Swindon last year and he was impressive. -

Hume/JPB have the potential to be in the top 15 riders in the averages in the NL.Both will do well in the PL and will bring that confidence with them when riding for the Brum. -

That is what the NL is all about giving a talented young Brit a chance.Winning is great of course but the NL should not be all about that it is getting the balance right.Kean has gone to the right club and he will learn alot off of Mr Drury and his record with youngsters is second to none. -

Yes we have had some poor teams 1983 was dire, the 1980 side in my opinion was capable of winning the league. But we underachieved Crump did not come over until August so we really missed him and though Autrey was very good he was not up to his best Exeter form.1980 was a great season Reading walked away with the Bonus and Ashby got one over Wally Mawdsley. -

Forgot Nani Righetto the Italian a very poor rider indeed, Eastbourne did have some very poor teams.
