Sidney the robin replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't see Holder having many blips in this league motivated he will clear up most weeks Doyley(Better😅) the only other rider who is on his level. Will wager a pint of Shandy 😅that Holder has a higher average than KK and this is from someone who is a KK supporter at his best he is class. -

Great but the reality is Holder is a better rider and away from home there could be a few blips away from home from KK.To sacrifice Holder i would have expected to have seen a stronger line up than the one you have assembled. -

In the past some promoters/riders have not got on but they have put there differences to one side the club always comes first. For me Poole do not realise yet what they are MISSING Chris should of finished his career at Poole.Oh well King's Lynn's gain and fair play to them also Holder will enjoy riding on a better and more consistent home track he will take alot of beating at Saddlebow.Does this show that Ford makes mistakes just like anybody else ? and to let Chris go and rely on K.K and Andersen is a risky ploy in my book. -

Your team has made a big mistake as Holder is more reliable than KK also there is more to come from Chris a fresh start will do Chris the world of good.It is great than Lynn have put a good side together that has to be good for the league. -
I have often thought that even though Ivan was the master of psyching people out at the gate he was such a good gater. For me he would of coped easily with the new tape rule now in my memory i can never remember Ivan ever rearing at the start the best gater along with Bob Kilby that i have seen live.
-
No i dont think so Persson in a way was an unfashionable rider but he was not a no hoper in speedway i think he was well respected as a world class rider.Jerzy S was different but i can always remember what Ivan had said about Jerzy S he said he always felt he was just as much as a danger as the much heralded Plech.

Dont worry just do it Gustix a very enjoyable thread and as Norbold has said all of us on here would never agree on a top 20. My take is Steve if Briggo had of won that race could he not of won the Final on 14 points.?Excepting that Ole was on fire Briggo maybe could of been conservative in there meeting and 14 would of been anough HINDSIGHT a big thing eh Steve.!!
-
Great to see that even though you were a big Bernie fan you were not blinkered about your opinion on that incident.I must of watched the incident endless times over/over again yet i am still not really sure about who was to blame. One thing is for sure i enjoyed watching Persson ride very much over his career and i think he is like Boulger he is often not mentioned but both were terrific riders. I would have Craven in the top six in front of Parker,Price,Lamoreaux, and Knutsson certainly in a top 10 a great list though.
-
Great list but Craven could he be higher.?
-
Was there a gap Bruno ? was Briggo caught in no man's land.
-
Yes WK he beat Ivan easily Ole had fell i believe Barry might of won that meeting with thirteen points. All in hindsight i suppose but Barry must of thought of that 72 final time/time again later on in life one that got away Great rider though.!
-
Being a Briggo fan he was never the No 1 of any of the era's the 50s,60s,70s,god it was really competitive yet he could beat anybody on any given day.) hence his four world titles and 72 could of been his to. ??😜
-
Sorry Gustix sure you will understand great thread,😀 my favourite and i think is my top five of all time is Fundin,Mauger,Nielsen,Briggs,Olsen, happy with that.🤓
-

God that is so tough Gustix😅
-
Really surprising 😅i am a avid Briggo fan so i would have him higher up in a 50s list.
-
Be great to hear what your 60s list would be i recon you could ask 10 different people aces1 and we could all differ that's what makes it a fascinating subject.
-
My top FIVE for three era's the 60s,70s,80s ( i will leave the early era's to Norbold,Gustix,Bobbath,BL, Sam ect) who maybe would of seen them live(.60s)--Fundin,Craven,Mauger,Briggs,,Knutsson. (70s)- Olsen,Mauger,Collins,Michanek,Lee. (80s) Nielsen,Penhall,Gundersen,Lee,Carter.

Strange Danny don't you think? that a lad can ride aged 15 in the NL and could line up against three near rookies.Yet can't ride in the other two leagues against more experienced riders Bickley being an example will he ride NL when he is 15.? only.
-
I wonder if young Anders Rowe will be old enough and available to make his first start on his career journey.I hope we can also be aloud to maybe use Barry Ayres as a guest as last year in his NL appearance he was great value. Also Henry Atkins he has a future i hope he could do a few meetings for us as well chuffed that we have a few NL meetings coming up.
-
Some Poole fans probably won't believe this but you like me want Newman to improve you odviously being a Ipswich fan would want that to happen.Newman,Schlien,Hume are the three riders that could make it a good Ipswich campaign.
-
I just think Starke is a slow burner, would never of thought he would of improved as much as he has since i first see him ride in his IOW days.So it was not just his BF effort that sways me thought he coped reasonably in the top 5 as well.
-
I would put Starke ahead of Newman he really has improved, his performance in the British Final was superb.
-
No i don't hate Iris" Bobbath, hate is a strong word just a misunderstanding.😅😅
-
Going back to Kyle i quite like him as a rider i believe there should always be a place for a British rider like that. Was thinking though riders who are around his level these riders have reached BRITISH FINALS.Bridger-6 Lawson-4 Starke-1 Garrity-4 Auty-4 Wright-1 S.Worrall-2 R.Worrall-3 does that tell us anything.?
