The crowds have been there all season though despite the crap that they've had to put up with..do you think another couple of wins might prompt someone to buy what's left of the club and fund a new stadium?..I get what you're saying but I just can't take British speedway serious anymore and I guess this makes me more comfortable with losing the club..which I'm afraid is inevitable now...but I do hope I'm wrong.

I was told tonight that why Laguta is at Peterborough, we get enough support to be able to afford him and Lynn didn’t.

Something needs done to help preserve what is left of the once high prestige that this meeting was held in. The winner used to get a brand new bike, does anyone know what the prize is these days ?

    They all get a tyre

Unfortunately for Leicester the play offs do seem to be slipping away from them with 0 points from the last 4 meetings then a tough meeting Saturday which could easily go Sheffields way then another tough day Monday away at BV at lunch then home to Kings Lynn at night, then away trips to a strengthened up Peterborough and Wolverhampton.

On paper based on current form it’s hard to see where the league points are going to come from other than possibly against Kings Lynn who will be tough themselves depending on guests

Well Dickson has made some strange changes but his biggest mistake was getting rid of Harris, their is good reasons for no one really wanting Batchelor and Cook and recent moves just smack of desperation, I suspect he has totally done the confidence and team spirit with all the recent changes.

I was planning to go to Lynn tonight as I’ve never seen the track. However, it’s an 8 hour round trip. Looking at the line up, I’m not so sure. It’s a similar travel time to Ipswich (which I’ve also never been to) so I may head there instead.  Ipswich or Lynn? Which one?

Have you never heard of BSN

Most Panthers fans have been slagging off Buster all season for the  crap track.

Buster rarely ever gets on a tractor at Peterborough unless their are real pre meeting problems he leaves it to the track staff Dean and Luke, it’s them that make a super grippy white line which inevitably means the outside rarely works well before the interval.

Its been like this for years and the high clay content doesn’t help but the bottom line is the racing isn’t as good early doors but generally improves during the meeting as the dirt line gets wider.

Attendance last was pretty good and much better than most thought it would be, I would estimate between 1200 to 1400, the meeting was also good I dare say the Peterborough fans enjoyed it more because their team won and clinched the aggregate point as well, I certainly did.

Clearly Sheffield were handicapped by having to use RR for Musielak which only got them 5 points, it’s likely Musielak would have doubled that but Peterborough have had that sort of luck for the best part of two years so you just have to take it on the chin although Stead did a good take off of Ritchie Hawkins face like a slapped arse when interviewed.

Woffinden did his job and was backed up by Pickering and Kerr who both had their moments but Ellis was dreadful and Howarth after winning heat 1 did little else.

Panthers on the other hand we’re rock solid all the way through and had a free scoring reserve and never looked threatened for the points although the aggregate was a real bonus and the team got a richly deserved ovation afterwards.

  6. So will Panthers put a dent in Sheffields play off push and win their second match of the season, or will Woffinden inspire the Tigers to victory.

    Teams

Peterborough - Chris Harris, Vadim Tarasenko, Ben Basso, Ben Cook, Niels K Iversen, Patryk Wojdylo, Jordan Jenkins.

Sheffield - Tobiasz Musielak, Kyle Howarth, Adam Ellis, Josh Pickering, Tai Woffinden, Lewis Kerr, Dan Gilkes.

So I understand a number of fans are having their tickets changed for Cardiff as sections of the stadium are to be closed off and that WBD are changing some of the their camera positions so to show the more populated areas.

I can only assume ticket sales are very poor i wonder how many of the Blue light seats will be used I think it will depend on the weather if it’s a nice day people will go if not will simply not bother as not losing any money well £2.50 . I have spoken to a cameraman doing the event and has been told he can have free tickets for his wife and kids if he wants.

Even hotel prices have started to drop again as hotels getting worried that they may have empty rooms, Holiday Inn by stadium is normally full months in advance but they have rooms now . My estimate is that they have only sold around 7,500 seats will be interesting to see the final crowd with Blue Light freebies and riders/sponsors/broadcasters getting unlimited tickets now

It’s no great surprise is it, Cardiff fans have been totally ripped off by ticket and hotel prices for years now and after last years rubbish show it appears many have called time on the event, for the first time in a long time I don’t know anyone amongst my circle of friends who is actually going this year.

Ryan Douglas should really of been a Panther seasons ago ,so if they make 2024 and unfortunately Wolves dont hes got to be a target

He has been a target for years and despite several offers he clearly prefers Wolves, I don’t think I have ever known him to have a bad night at Peterborough.

There seems to be the impression that 'gate and go' only applies to one or two riders per race?!

'Gate and go' can apply to all 4 riders in a race, is very often NOT boring and often provides decent, fast racing by riders that 'miss the gate'!

If all 4 'gate and go' then the racing can be very close even when there are no overtakes!!

Clearly your interpretation of racing is different to mind if you find follow the leader decent.

I Never thought I would say it but have been pleasantly surprised with the std of racing in the championship and find I don’t miss the smattering of top stars so if it means speedway here survives without  them so be it.

However I would prefer there to be one league rather than a divide

Most fans just want their team to be competitive and have a decent race track which allows racing and overtaking, it really doesn't matter whether it’s Premiership or Championship.

Unfortunately I am told lay-downs react to grippy or deep tracks more causing more problems for the inexperienced riders.

Predominately the better riders like slick conditions especially the better trappers who can then win more easily when they make the gate.

But you of course this makes for boring gate and go meetings which doesn’t encourage supporters to attend.

If the racing was decent then I dare say more supporters would attend and you wouldn’t see stadiums 90% empty like this weeks World Cup so far.

As happy as I was with a Panthers win that was the worst meeting race wise I have seen !!

In 50 years of watching speedway that was the first meeting without one single overtake.

Made the World Cup and GP meetings look brilliant !!

And to be far that’s the whole way speedway is going all over, lay downs produce so much power that any type of deep or grippy track makes them almost impossible to control.

But everyone loves gate and go crap because it’s exciting and the fans love it.

And the powers that be wonder why this sport is dying on its arse.

In years gone by it would have been savable but these are different times with different mentality. The grassed areas will be like a bog so where was the parking for this. Also, the increased activity & traffic of Eurosport tomorrow would be more than problematic looking at the forecast so I'd have to say that they've called this right.

In years gone by we had a racetrack that didn’t contain a significant amount of clay, unfortunately that isn’t the case now.
