Can't wait for the fall out when it becomes apparent of what's going to happen unless a rain off saves the day. No wonder our sport is laughed at from outsiders as it dies a slow death -

NDL Riders Championship, Workington 24 September

It should be but this is speedway so the averages used were from July which are calculated to be a riders average for august. Everyone assumed it would be top 2 at time of meeting as the rules state but this is speedway. Also seems farcical that a rider who only did 1 meeting in July for his club and is currently suspended until after the meeting gets a selection. -
British GP Cardiff Saturday 2nd September
phillwhitewasmad replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Riders were simon Lambert, Conor Mountain , Danyon Hume, Nathan Ablitt, Drew Kemp, Jordan Jenkins ,Ashton Boughen and Luke Harrison so 4 scunthorpe riders and a scunthorpe born rider in the 8 wonder I who could of had a big say in the selection . -
Oxford vs Workington - 16/8
phillwhitewasmad replied to Bojangles's topic in National League Speedway
Workington take priority as he is signed for them. It was discussed at length with the Speedway office as to what he could or couldn't do if he accepted the guest bookings for Redcar yesterday was a clash of fixtures so Workington got first call . At this moment in time there are no more clashes and if Redcar are happy to keep using him till Jake is fit he will accept the rides. -

Luke's first time there on a 500 and we thought other than struggling with the entry to turn 3 early on he rode it well. The race with him and Dayle passing and re passing was fantastic to watch -
UK Speedway in Turmoil?
phillwhitewasmad replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Limiters are enforced abroad but not in the uk . They are set at 13500 revs so can't go above that personally not sure they help as bikes are only at that level momentarily on the start -
Workington v Leicester 08/07/2023 3pm ko cup 1st leg
phillwhitewasmad replied to topaz325's topic in National League Speedway
Sadly this topic is becoming a reflection of British speedway and it's crazy average driven team building system. In Luke's case comes back after injury scores fairly well and ends up in the main body of the team after 4 meetings which in our opinion for a new rider is a ridiculous state of affairs. Yesterday showed for us even though we were happy with his scores it's a big leap forward due to the way the heats are. -

Lads were not given the option prior to heat one it was photo and get on with it . Two minutes came on and away they went. Personally think it was the wrong decision as the rain was constant the meeting was never going to finish especially on a 20 heat format where riders have back to back races at heat 4 8 12 and 16 . After heat 4 some wanted to continue others didn't but personally think it was right to stop. Think the sport dodged a bad press bullet yesterday if one rider got hurt riding an unfit track the neigh sayers would be having a field day -
under 19 FINAL --Birmingham June 28th -sponsorship opportunities
phillwhitewasmad replied to Speedway fan's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Luke like Ashton had heaps of offers to guest last year . We chose not to do anything until after 250cc sgp3 was out the way and then due to circumstances and unavailability he only managed 2 meetings. Not sure on Ashtons offers for this season but we had six and was always getting narrowed down to clubs doing the cup meetings . -

under 19 FINAL --Birmingham June 28th -sponsorship opportunities

Qualification was based on averages one month before and as Luke had not done enough meetings he is still assessed as a 3 pointer hence no selection think it's a similar story with max. -

Luke came through five rides with no adverse effects last week. He was a little tender on the Monday but has been good all week after so let's what see what tomorrow brings sincerely hoping the seven isn't on the cards . -

Workington v Mildenhall 03/06/23 3pm.
phillwhitewasmad replied to topaz325's topic in National League Speedway
100% true sadly our sport looks for the next bright prospect promises so much and fails so often. I don't understand why we don't have under 21 British riders at both reserve positions until they're 20 or 21 regardless of the averages. Also would like to see top three average riders in a team at 1,3,5 and the 4th and fifth at 2 the 4 . Reserves should only ride against each other twice then the oppositions 2 and 4 once as this is where the next step out of reserve is . Having young reserves race against heat leaders is a frankly ridiculous state of affairs. -

Would say he's about 85% at the moment no issues on the bike but feels it when the adrenaline stops. As a family we are happy with his recovery so far- 46 replies
