Wolves have re-declared their team since 2022 if you need to be pedantic.
-
010.5 FACILITIES No facility is permitted to replace a rider, who although included in a re-declaration has not made an appearance for that team since being re-declared.

I personally don't have a problem with Testimonials, or farewells. If I don't think the particular rider deserves it, I won't bother going.

List of Speedway promoters past & present.

I am in no way trying to justify what happened, but did the decision to sell happen some time after that terrible fire at Bradford? Football, and wooden stands (like Leicester's) were then deemed unsafe. -
Phil Morris appointed Premiership CEO

I don't think that it was actually the weather that caused the problems. I believe it was found that stones had been allowed to get into the shale mix, making it unable to bind as normally expected. -
Bonus Points not included in the Green Sheets.

This was actually proposed by one of the former Referees a few years ago, but nothing came of it. I've noticed in the past where at some tracks, although the tapes are level (horizontal), they sit well above the height of the wheel spindle on the I/S gates due to a camber in the track.

Not a bad idea, that, and wouldn't take much to implement. Sadly, it's too late for this season.

Gambo replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Although you may regard it as factually incorrect, it is the official result and is what the Green Sheet averages are calculated on. Using the 'wrong' result, James Wright's average would increase from 5.65 to 5.73. Adam Roynon's 3.56 average would reduce to 3.44. Too much time on my hands on a Sunday morning! -

The Referee's scorecard (which is the Official result) shows Etheridge, Roynon, Wright, Knudsen. -
At a recent Nuneaton S C meeting, Martin Smolinski said that the Anlas GP tyres were only produced to last two races. (one edge per race). Don't know whether that is the same compound as used for UK racing.

Looks like the reference to reducing to 10 meetings at the end of the season has been removed. 2023 Rider Statistics - British Speedway Official Website

I just wonder how many more times this will have to be pointed out to people!

Premiership 2024 Confirmed Signings
Gambo replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If you use 20 meetings from the start of 2023, most averages would change from the published 10 match stats. Team places would be swapping before the season started! Riders who missed the 2022 season, (Rory Schlein for example) will start with his 17 meetings from 2021 stats. Rolling Average stats will not include any data from seasons prior to 2021. -
Premiership 2024 Confirmed Signings
Gambo replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
All three have valid (10 meeting) Rolling averages. 2023 Rolling Averages revert back to the 20 meetings criteria, so, after your 6 matches scenario, they will have a RA based on 16 meetings. -
James Wright's starting average for 2022 was 5.20. His final average for 2022 was 5.65.

2023 Rolling Averages will be based on the most recent 20 meetings, with 2023 meetings being added to the last 10 meetings of 2022.
