Leicester Lion 274 Posted September 22, 2016 The fans is the reason why they are trying to run this fixture as obviously it's a bit of a nothing fixture and riders have got to be paId with a likely low crowd. It is probably cheaper to run the meeting than refund season ticket holders and the outstanding admission tickets that have not been used. Since when did the BSPA place the fans first? They have to run the fixture, because if they accepted the alternative, ie that Leicester has effectively folded, the Lions' results would need to be expunged from the records, placing Swindon fourth in the table instead of Lakeside.

weatherwatcher 664 Posted September 22, 2016 What was the article about in the Speedway Star. Was it all bad news or was there a rosy glow on the horizon
Skidder1 7,636 Posted September 22, 2016 It said that Hemsley and Buster Chapman were actually talking to each other (about the rearranged KL fixture on 7th October), despite DH no longer being anything officially to do with Leicester Speedway LTD.

Hamish McRaker 601 Posted September 26, 2016 No mentions on here of Jason Doyle's charge towards the world championship. Not a whisper on the Leicester website, either. Is nobody bothered about it? Very strange. Anyone would think he isn't liked any more.

Gemini 4,894 Posted September 26, 2016 Me neither. No interest at all as I've never liked individual meetings. Why would Leicester make any mention about Jason Doyle anyway as he rides for Swindon.

Very strange. Anyone would think he isn't liked any more. Didn't he accuse Leicester of owing him money ? Think he also said he would never ride for Swindon. So I guess he isn't liked at Leicester but had he stayed then he would of been riding in the play offs this year.

beckettlion 195 Posted September 27, 2016 I'd read somewhere (think it was on Facebook, so probably not overly reliable) that there had been a bid from potential new owners for Leicester Speedway. Read that a few weeks ago, so can't find the link, wonder if anyone else had heard anything similar? Apologies if this has already been mentioned, not been on here for a while and only skim read the last few pages of the thread

You'd think that after 2 years as the No.1 there, he would be still held in high esteem.
