  1. Is it not about time, considering that the promotors are having a pow-wow next week to have an experiment involving 1-2 tracks per league in covering their tracks when heavy rain is forecast in the days before a meeting?I have heard all the arguments about the ground sweating but wouldn't this put the moisture in the base where it would do most good?rain will seep through the covers and make the track patchy it has got to be easier to work on a small bit of track than the whole circuit. We will never know the answers until someone does it and at the end of the day i am sure most promotors would want to run every week at the same time pretty much guaranteed, obviousley you could do nothing if it rained within 4-5 hrs before the meeting. So do you think it is worth a try?

  2. Surely the buck stops with GP race director a certain Mr Olsen and BSI.No meeting can start in the UK without a paramedic or doctor present,as it was a GP i would think you would need at least 1 of each present as if the Dr./paramedic needs to attend the hospital as in Lukas,s case hopefully. Then their beloved tv schedules go down the pan and they are probably more important than the riders safety. What needs to happen is all riders stick together and say we aint riding with air fences on the straights,5 riders on a narrow track and no Dr./paramedic present. If the riders stick together it will be sorted as if they refuse to ride just after the parade who will the general public believe is in the right? any speedway fan would say the riders were.

  3. But surely if the radio waves can get through to a tv aerial they can get to a dish, afterall the dish is designed to concentrate the signal onto a certain point. So if you had a bigger dish it should work, well maybe. My own opinion is sky want dishes on the outside so people can see how popular it is,and hopefully jump on the bandwagon.Luckily for us in gridlock central i.e Oxford lots of pubs are willing to put the speedway on for GP,s and league matches. Also we have Chris Brown,s GP barbecues which seem to be very popular and with a big screen as well.

So we not only have a Silver Machine but a Silver Screen as well!

  4. What i don,t understand is why you cannot put a sky dish in your loft as you can have a tv aerial in there and i assume as a bit of a technophobe that they both receive radio waves.Plus if the dish had to be bigger because of the roof obscuring the signal it wouldn't matter because you wouldn't see it.Of course if you have a train set, scalextric or a bedroom in there you would be out of luck.

  5. In my opinion the only way forward is 3 leagues as at present, the top 2 leagues equal team numbers.Conference as many teams as possible, preferably with most of the top 2 leagues having teams even if only for challenges.Top 2 leagues to have a squad system with min+max points limit,no doubling up or down except for conference riders to league above. No guests use R/R or 1 or more of your squad to suit requirements.Promotion and relegation as it is the only way to make the papers and TV take the sport seriously. Finally an independent person to oversee the political side of the sport such as Adam Crozier when in charge of the fa.

PS. a personal wish would be that British gp held as last one of the season so we can see the Champion crowned+some type of pairs/4 team tournament to be held at Cardiff on the sunday with no gp riders. As it seems to me if your'e going to spend x amount of £s laying a track why not get 2 meetings out of it,i'm sure many fans would stay over as lot's already do for another meeting involving their "local heroes"

  6. Mikael blixt was stuck in the fence at oxford by his own team mate. The general concensus of opinion on the terraces was he thought it was Martin Mudguard going round the outside but being the sensible chap he is he'd pulled a full locker on the first bend and gone under the pair of Berwick riders.

  7. If you read the "poorly proof read programme" the interview with the referee states that in any oxford match where there was a 50/50 decision he would give it against oxford to prove he was not biased towards them. As an oxford supporter who along with many others often moaned about his poor refereeing performance i think he should be fined as it brings the sport into disrepute the same as in the sunday people accusations of the 1980,s.
