Wolves V Lakeside 22.8.16 Return Of The Champ

I think you'll find that Dave already has the footage, seeing as he is responsible for editing last night's DVD.... And as only three parties were authorised to film last night's meeting (myself, the Ladbrokes camera and the Sky camera) anyone who did consider posting it online would be rather foolish. -

Agreed. Had to chuckle at Sam's comment that no team would be promoted downwards this year. -
Exeter Falcons V Cradley Heathens 26/06/2015

ReRun filmed the meeting and a request has been received to use some of the footage for a TV report. Hopefully if that happens it will give you a fair bit of extra publicity. Congratulations to all involved. The meeting built to a peak and heat 15 was tremendous. By the way, in all my years of filming I don't think I've ever come across a group as friendly and accomodating as the Exeter management. You have a great group of people there heading your return to the sport. -
Birmingham V Kings Lynn Select Thurs 15th May
TonyOfBrum replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The time to be amazed was several years ago. I decided to give the first couple of meetings a miss for personal reasons, having not missed any since we reopened. Now, with June on the horizon, I still haven't gone back. To be honest I can't see a time when I will. The ease with which you get out of the habit, and the difficulty in getting back into it, is worrying. Maybe I'm being selfish but I've come to the conclusion that a clean break is easier for me than the constant weariness that comes with ever decreasing crowds and ever mounting debts. We have been living on borrowed time for several years and I just got tired of worrying. If the plug does get pulled, and I have already attended my last meeting at Perry Barr, then so be it. I wouldn't like it but right now I could live with it. -

Sounds Like Bad News For West Row
TonyOfBrum replied to Badge's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That's true. But now the highest court in the country has said that all of us, including the appeal judge, are wrong. It may have set a precedent that doesn't bear thinking about. -
Sounds Like Bad News For West Row

Because English law is ridiculous, bizarre and flies in the face of common sense, reason, logic and responsibility. The law is clear - it gives equal rights to those idiots who move next to a speedway track (in effect inviting the noise into their lives) as it does to those who have a noise imposed on them. The supreme court has made it clear that the issue of who was there first, and who knew what about the local area, doesn't even enter into it. -
The same will apply whoever is in charge, whether that be Alan, Tony or A.N.Other. I must admit that I am at a loss as to what you actually want. You admit we spent too much this year but are bemoaning the idea that costs may be reduced next year? I'm also not clear why Tony should be interested in investing money that he wouldn't then have complete control over. Have he and Alan ever worked together before? Do they have similar business outlooks? The evidence of the last two seasons would suggest not. Tony is the absolute master at demanding value from strict budgets. If he returns it will be on his terms.

They'll have to be paid either way so it makes no sense to get rid. And there's no way Alan Phillips can represent the club on his own. He needs Graham's experience now more than ever. Plus no matter what anyone thinks of Graham Drury he seems to be the only person at the club who hasn't had a bad word said about him these last few weeks.

Birmingham V Poole Grand Final 2nd Leg
TonyOfBrum replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's often mentioned over the PA prior to the first heat, as it was on Tuesday. Maybe not every week, but then we like to assume that the away supporters aren't stupid. However Tuesday's announcement was met with a blast of air horn, proof enough that at least some people didn't care. -
Why Can't All Speedway Be Like This
TonyOfBrum replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That's the question we were asking at Perry Barr on Monday. At one point the riders were sat on their bikes for over 15 minutes, while the screen showed a heat from Poole, followed by Pearson and Ermolenko yakking away, followed by an interview, followed by Pearson and Ermolenko yakking away again, followed by adverts. OK, broadcasters and viewers love "live" sport, but with the numbers involved would it really matter if one meeting was live and the other tape delayed? 30 heats done and dusted by 9:45 that way. -
So how long was the Poole site down for last night? Larger fan base. More dramatic route to the final. Must have generated more web traffic than the Brummies ever could. Seems as though AP can handle all that Poole traffic. Yet a few extra pensioners in Perry Barr nearly brings the server crashing down in a fiery blaze.

Premier League Fours - Peterborough 14/07/2013

Yes, from ReRun. I filmed two hours worth. Add to that all the interviews and it should work out at quite a hefty production.
