Sat 20th April 2024: Workington Meteors 27 Redcar Cubs 9

The Workington Meteors replicated the Comets with a fantastic win over the Redcar Cubs to complete the double win home and away against the Cubs!
Maximums from Ben Rathbone and Laylen Richardson plus excellent improvements from our 125cc riders Casper Kluczniak and Charlie Luckman
    Well done Meteors!

Nothing stupid about it at all, Cook fell in his second ride and withdrew, I think it’s reasonable to expect an update as to the latest position on his injury and whether he rides or a replacement.

Workington has an official website, it would be a good idea to use it.

I'm guessing that the web site is maintained by a professional company who probably don't work over a bank holiday weekend, whereas it's much easier to post on Social Media any relevant news updates like they did announcing that Cookie would be riding on Sunday.

Just remember, Bob; those two Penhall races were the the only two real races in 81. People say it was a special final, but do two races make the evening that special racing-wise?

    1976 provided much better racing.

For me the 1981 World Final at Wembley (my first world final) was special not only because of those two races but also because of the atmosphere and noise the 92,000 crowd created watching racing under the lights at the old Wembley stadium. It is the only meeting I have been to where you couldn't hear the noise of the bikes due to the noise of the crowd and the air horns.

do any of those things 'promote speedway'?

Yes, because it creates publicity before the meeting and increases the attendance at the meeting. If it didn't do either, then I would have thought that Ian Thomas wouldn't have booked any interval attractions.
