Oxford engine room just not up to it at present and no big scores at reserve. Not a good combination.

Play off place still up for grabs thou :)

Very true, Newman and Heeps have been very disappointing.

We used 8 points at reserve so the side has been in balance after Josh’s injury.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some changes.

Suzuki did not make a further news statement this morning, probably because DORNA made one saying all teams are under a contract and none can leave MotoGP unilaterally, meaning DORNA must agree as well. All teams entered a 5 year contract with DORNA, 2022 is the first year, ends 2026.
Sounds like DORNA will allow Suzuki to leave as there are other teams interested in moving into MotoGP. Ie Leopard. DORNA say they will decide how big the MotoGP grid should be.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Suzuki run a team next year like Kawasaki did under the Hayate badge for one season as a compromise when they wanted to leave.

Seems the planned withdrawal is a real shock as Rins was told at Portimao that Suzuki wanted to keep him for the following year.

Didn’t have a great deal to wave the flag for jrs. Scott Ogden did very well but gutted for Sam and Jake. Really thought Jake would go on to win in the re-start! Was anything said about the amount of fallers between turns 2 and 3 in the moto 2 race? Couldn’t believe that many could crash in the same place without there being some sort of a problem with the track.
Jack and Joan’s crash was right in front of us and Jack was totally upset and gutted that he had brought Mir down. Joan was initially very annoyed at Jack but after a few minutes they both embraced each other. Top guys!!

That was Jake’s to win but he does keep making silly mistakes.

The track has a small dip where the crashes happens so I expect a small amount of water must have built up in that area.

Just been watching Michael Laverty’s team VisionTrack Honda unloading the bikes at Autodromo International Algarve circuit. It’s really windy here, hope it doesn’t spoil the racing. Never known it to be so windy in the Algarve!!

Enjoy, it’s always great to get to a foreign Moto GP race and that circuit is an absolute stunner.

Hi all , I’m useless at tech so can somebody help me , going to sign up to this but don’t fancy watching on my IPhone but want to watch through my Samsung Smart TV ( about a year old ) can I do that and if so how ?

    Many Thanks

    Chris

Check your tv has apple air play as most Samsung tv’s have it built in. If it does you will be able to stream the image on your phone onto the tv using airplay.

It’s really easy to use and if you don’t know how I would just look it up on youtube for someone to show you how to do it.

Quick question - why was capacity set at 2000? Was it H&S; Covid-related; or simply a number set by the Promotion?

Only going on some of the photos I've seen there would appear to be scope to increase it?!

Congrats to the Cheetahs - welcome back.

I heard it was health and safety and there is still work being done on the stadium.

Was very impressed with what I saw last night, the money has been well spent.

Whats ambiguous in stating 'all the GPs will be live on Eurosport 2'?

The thing about Discovery (especially as they now own the Speedway GP Series) is that when there are other major sporting events on eg Olympics etc, they simply launch a number of extra Eurosport channels eg 3,4,5,6

They also say they have every WSB race live until the Tour De France or French Open tennis is on and then it’s shifted onto Discovery Plus. They do often move the British Superbikes to the Quest channel though.

I emailed them and they confirmed that it is not possible to record meetings but said that replays would be available shortly after each meeting.  I'll probably see what happens with the Gorican meeting and decide what to do.  Can't get out of my subscription with BT for another 12 months which is annoying.

If you miss the start of a live event on discovery plus there is a watch from the start option or watch from now.

The 125 class is now 250cc

The 250 class is now 675cc Triumph engines (all riders), frames can be anybodies

Top class has been up to 1000cc but now back to 800 or 850 I think.

2020 Suzuki won the individual (Joan Mir [its a male]) and the team championship, first time for 20 years or so. Last year a Frenchman Fabio Quartararo on a Yamaha won the individual and Ducati the team.  Ducati have 3 teams of 2, so that is 6 bikes it is looking after. Honda and Yamaha have 2 x2, Suzuki 1 x2 along with Aprilia.  Aprilia have been very much tail end charlies for a few years, they started moving forward last year and now can finish in the top 10 easily. Little more improvement and they will be up there.

In the top class top speeds can now be around 224mph (phew), Ducati developed and others followed a rear end lowering system to help stop front  end lifting at the start. This has developed into front end lowering, so both can be lowered on the straights. However, concern about increased top speed and the problems this device can cause if you tailing someone with a wind behind you, braking for corners is a nightmare, front end lowering is band from next year. Announcing that now will save loads of money being spent on development of anything more.

    Yes, it is interesting.

They use a 765cc engine in Moto 2 that is based on the Street Triple RS road bike engine.

    Top class is 1000cc.

I don't think I seen a highside that high, but he also twisted in mid air. Surprised he got up actually. That was his 4th high speed crash of the week end, one I saw he barrelled rolled, another I saw at the same spot I think, he slid gracefully on his back and the bike barrelled rolled.  I am always cringing when the bike goes up in the air, fortunately not seen one hit a rider, hopefully I don't see one, could be real bad.  I agree with you, if he cant control himself and just settle for what the bike will do then he should stop riding. I hope he does, too many injuries and he has a detached retina, specialist said one big bang on his head and he could go blind. He took a head knock yesterday, lets hope it was not a real bad one.  If some contracts are up at the end of the year it should be interesting. I think Mir and Quartararo will want to move, plus one or two others wanting full factory bikes. These youngsters are amazing when they come to MotoGP

He has got Diplopoda again so looks like he will be missing for at least the next two rounds. They are saying it’s not as bad as his last bout with this injury.

He’s pushed his luck so much over the years and it seems to have run out. I know he’s only 29 but maybe some close family members should be telling him to hang the leathers up.

That is not good for John McPhee, irrespective of his injuries he needs to be riding up at the front getting a few wins in. Time is passing him by quickly and he is still in Moto3

Big year for him as it’s his last in Moto 3. Needs good results if he is going to get a Moto 2 ride.

It’s on their website, usually £59.99 pa credited to £29.99 for first 12 months, then £59.99pa unless cancelled. It mentions motor sports, along with tennis, Winter Olympics, snooker. Offer ends 20/02/2022

My quandary is I love watching speedway gp’s and I love watching motogp’s. My contract with BT is until Jan 2023. With BT I can watch MotoGP but not speedway gp. So I got the extra expense of Discovery. Ok, this year could be £29.99, but next year £59.99…….unless I move away from BT, but they provide a really good trouble free broadband service. Problems!

BT sport is being sold and it looks like DAZN are buying it which is app based, rumours in the press is the deal will go through shortly.

I watched eurosport as its apart of my Sky subscription for sports, having looked into discovery+ on the skyq box and information on the web it seems i can create an account with discovery+ and watch it via the app on sky for free for the first 12 months , anyone recently done this already is it still free

I have done this but you don’t get the sport channels so not worth doing if you want it for the speedway.
