  1. HELP!! What Sopcast channel are you getting the SGP on, I am on sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/35515 and it's FOOTBALL and Sopcast 20077 is off-line! Please tell me it's on another channel as I stupidly offered to babysit next-doors brat tonight (and they don't have Sky either) and I wanted to record the GP! Many thanks.
  2. Lawrence, Do you collect badges/scarves and programmes? If so, I would be more than willing to send you some from Ipswich to say thank you for the excellent service you bring to the UK. If you could send me a personal message with your name, address, etc and I will happily post them to you.
  3. Lawrence, thank you to everyone involved in making this service available to us, it is really appreciated. I have told so many people about this service and they too are all enjoying watching the meetings. You put the speedway TV coverage we have in the UK to shame! Some great racing, especially heats 7 and 8. The final score does not reflect how good the racing was, every point was fought for. Well done to Polonia Bydgoszcz. Thank you for putting the score card at the end of the meeting, for those of us who are not fluent in Polish it was easy to understand what the individual scores were! Sorry to see two riders injured, a speedy recovery to them. I watched Andreas Jonsson last night at Lakeside Hammers against Ipswich Witches, he is a great rider. Although he was beaten in the last race by my favourite, Swiderski! Thank you again.
  4. Lawrence, I too would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you for the link to the TV channel. It is great! If only our British TV channels were as enthusiaistic about British speedway as you are in Poland. Keep up the good work. I have just watched the RKM-Polonia meeting and really enjoyed it. I am an Ipswich Witches Supporter and a fan of Piotr Swiderski, so it was really great to see him riding in his home country. He is a great speedway rider and I hope his season continues to be successful. Thank you again!
  5. As an Ippo fan, I hope not Louis, much as I like the guy. I'm hoping for Hampel and Swiderski!
  6. I think the restaging has not be thought through properly! Firstly, to attend the Grand Prix at Cardiff is not cheap, by the time you pay for travel, accommodation, entry tickets, etc, it all adds up to an expensive weekend as it is. Secondly, it states on the BSPA web page that the meeting will start at 6.00pm on the Sunday evening. That would mean, for the majority of fans, another stay over. What about those of us who have kids that have to be in school on the Monday morning? Thirdly, Swindon? That will be Leigh Adams' (+ partner's) home track then? Not exactly a neutral track for the other 8 teams in the competition.
  7. It was a pity the meeting was cancelled last night, but it was probably the right decision, as I said in an earlier posting, too early in the season/year. I was at the ELRC last August and the first few heats were awful, not a good advert for speedway, especially when it's shown on Sky. This is maybe the time for a revamp of the EL Best Pairs. Could the competition not start at say lunch time(ish) for the two best riders from each Elite Team (the 'Best Pairs'), basically as it is now, but when the 2008 averages are out. Then, in the late afternoon/evening the Elite Best Reserves. It would give the 'big boys' time to get their part of the meeting over and leave the track sooner and quicker for their other commitments, rather than late in the evening when all the fans are leaving as well. The competition would then have four riders from each Elite team represented and I'm sure more fans would want to travel to watch it. Obviously the entrance fee would have to go up, but if the competion was well staged and properly respected and represented by the Elite teams, I think it would be a great day. Just a thought!
  8. Oops, I was looking at the 2007 dates!
  9. I've just had a look at www.super7even.com and it says that the ELRC is to be held at Kings Lynn on 30th August, 2008. When I click the link on the left hand side of the page it says it's to be held at Birmingham! Does anyone know which is correct?
  10. Would it not be better to have Chris Louis and Tobi Kroner? They were a great pairing last year for the Witches and know how to ride with each other. Tobi is not afraid to get stuck in and have a go.
  11. Ipswich are unable to send Robert Miskowiak as all Polish riders have commitments back home this evening. That is why we, Ipswich, are sending Louis and Johnston. I feel this competition is far too early in the season, it is the 2008 Elite League Best Pairs, but the qualification for being the top two riders from each team is based on their final averages for 2007 (or assessed average for this year). This competition should be held next month when the GSA's are out so that the top performing pairs take part. With Ipswich, our 'Best Pair' for tonight are way below par and had we been able to make a choice, and the riders were available, we would probably have send Jarek Hampel and Piotr Swiderski, now that would have made things interesting and exciting! As it stands, I am not going to travel to King Lynn tonight to watch our riders make a mockery of the competition. This is a guaranteed wooden spoon for the Witches, shameful to say the least.
