My Father and a car load of friends, including Shaledodger, came down for the opening and it was against Hackney. Ronnie Moore of Wimbledon raced in the 2nd half, however.

I have to wonder why two of the 'seeded' rider's have, to my knowledge, never ridden at PL level? This is very worrying for British speedway. When William Lawson won the British U18's a few years ago, he had already ridden 2 and a half years in the PL. If things don't change soon, we could be in a situation where 9/10 of the 'seeded' rider's have never ridden outside of the National league. -

Just have to laugh when it's a KL fan. Pretty good meeting tonight, with close racing and some nice passes. There were quite a few big looking crashes so I hope that all concerned are going to be ok. Very impressed with Max Dilger, he looked like a different rider ... as did Kevin Wolbert , he'll be fine though, it just wasn't his night. -
My point was that orion states that lyon has done nothing to deserve any respect. This isn't true.
-
I'm pretty sure he's done a whole lot more than you in speedway orion. Going on your argument throughout this thread, you state that the top level riders will not give Lyon any respect. Are you a top level rider? If not, why does he not get your respect?

1) Do you really think we would do anything if we had picked the riders of old? 2) The young riders will not win the event, but they won't do much worse than a team of Nicholls, Richardson etc 3) This is obviously the start of a plan for the future and if in 3 or 4 years time Team GB wins the world cup then with the core of this team then how many of you will be complaining? 4) Give Rob Lyons a chance. Far too many people on here think the elite League is the be-all and end-all. It's not, get over it. Look at the success he's had in the PL, do you think its a fluke? The man clearly knows his stuff.

Arthur Sissus was riding in the 2nd half at Edinburgh on Friday and he looked tremendous for his age (14 i believe?). Its a pity that he seems destined for road racing. -

It shows the strength in depth the swedes have when the man who won the nordic U21 event last weekend isn't even in the squad.
