  1. Good to see the coverage that Oxford Speedway is generated. Local BBC + ITV coverage - this should be standard for the sport but an excellent effort at getting the sport promoted. Certainly the pits and grandstand from the videos look smart enough. Any new venue / club or attempt to promote should be applauded.

2022 PREMIERSHIP Predict the finishing order

    1. Sheffield - Looks solid. Holder, Ellis, Howarth, Cook and Musielak is a strong top five. Reserve pairing will need to settle and develop into the team but with that top 5 - The team to beat. 2. Peterborough - Dad's Army Season 2 - If Basso can take to the Showground looks like a strong team built around the same strength in depth policy that served them so well last season. 3. Belle Vue - Fricke, Kurtz, provides a strong top 2. Wright + Etheridge need to offer a little more consistency and I think Brennan will come on again as RS. 4.Wolverhampton - As ever home advantage at Monmore. Need Morris, Becker + Douglas to improve away to be competitive. Think home form may squeak them a play-off spot. 5. Ipswich - Doyle & King should see Ipswich with enough strength at home to win but need significant improvement from Batchelor, Riss and Heeps to stay competitive away from Foxhall. 6. King's Lynn - Start strong at reserve with Worrall and Lawson is an excellent heat-leader but the top 5 doesn't look as strong as other teams.

    Glasgow 2022

Great to see some of the social media stuff Glasgow Tigers are doing - BUT that new Kappa merchandise is shocking. We of a certain vintage love a retro look but some of that "merch" is absolutely shocking - especially in comparison to what has been available previously.
  4. Wishing all involved at Oxford Cheetahs Speedway every success tonight and for remainder of the season. Hopefully all that attend enjoy the occasion and return. I will certainly look to take the kids during the school holidays as this is now the nearest track to Surrey.
  5. Gutted the bairns are at school otherwise , we may of travelled up for this. Excellent field and hope that the weather is fine for what looks an excellent event.
  6. Ban them ... !!!! Follow the precedent set by a number of other sports. Economic + social pressures are being used to try and stop Putin - rather than military ; so however small an impression this will make on the scheme of things It needs still to be done. Ban them.

    Poole 2022

Lawson is still waiting for payment from Eastbourne Eagles - Ian Jordan who was involved at Plymouth also ; seems to have gone awol as Drew Kemp was quoted in Speedway Star saying no Eagles riders had any communication or answers from him. If rumour true Lawson has thought I not taking that risk again.

    Torun gp 2022

With the demise of Eastbourne there will be no British Speedway for me and family apart from British SGP and British Final. What is the easiest way to get to Torun for the SGP ???
  12. As a number of teams have 2020 topics already - seems to be a good time to consider the Eagles options for next season. Already announcing after the final meeting on Saturday that Lewis Kerr and Kyle Newman will remain with Arlington side subject to agreement with their parent clubs, and confirmation of the overall league structure of the sport next year. Certainly those two riders would of been the first two names on my team sheet. Kerr has been excellent this season and is certainly a fans favourite. Newman has been excellent and has offered stability to the side and got better as the season has gone on. It is probably just a matter of time before Tommy Brennan is announced ; now that he is back on the bike. Depending on the average limit It would be a surprise if they didn't go for Edwards having offered him a couple of months to gain experience at Championship level.

    Belle Vue 2022

Think you'll find all riders rode abroad back in the day - but the main difference being British speedway was comparable money wise to Europe and if not the number of meetings made it worthwhile back then - Now unfortunately British speedway is third or fourth in payment terms so as we know Poland now means increased monies, sponsorship and opportunity, Sweden paying more per point why would you ride in the UK.

    Eastbourne 2020

Looking at the Speedway Star it would seem they have gone incommunicado . Drew Kemp has advised no rider has been paid and now the Jordans have gone underground. One un-named rider told Speedway Star he hasn't been paid. Jake Knight stated the very same on facebook and now Drew Kemp has said much the same in the Speedway Star. Pretty p*ss-poor but nothing surprises me.
  15. Eastbourne - Ian Jordan was in the press both local media and Speedway Star stating riders , outstanding debts , season tickets , refunds , air-fence sponsorship monies would be paid back by Oct. Carol Jordan was sending replies to some fans stating delays or check your bank account etc etc - Now it would seem they have gone incommunicado . One un-named rider told Speedway Star he hasn't been paid. Jake Knight stated the very same on facebook and now Drew Kemp has said much the same in the Speedway Star. Pretty poor but nothing surprises me in how speedway is run.
  16. Hopefully more positive news that Eastbourne ...... not a peep ....
  17. Birmingham Speedway @BrumSpeedway · We know it’s quiet right now but as soon as we get more news on the chances of us racing in 2022 we will bring it to you. We are as anxious as you for some positive news -

    Eastbourne 2020

On an Eastie Facebook Group - It looks like nobody has received a refund and as JAKE KNIGHT wrote the riders have yet to of been paid so very little chance that a ticket refund is going to happen. Just a very sorry state of affairs unfortunately. Feel sorry for the riders if they have yet to of been paid.
  19. No announcement from Tai Woffinden - SoN - Team GB or elsewhere at this stage.
  20. With the demise of Eastbourne this was my first live meeting since the British Final and was standing in the South Stand 20m fro Woffinden's crash. How he managed to walk away I am not sure. Having got back from meeting thought I would check on here to see if any news on riders but to get people moaning about the racing just amazes me. Possibly not as great as the Grand Final but still a great nights entertainment ...usually sit in grandstand but family were in South Stand and position entering 3rd bend gives you a great understanding + perspective that riders put everything on the line. Some tight tight racing into that bend. As expected the Polish look a class above and always thought this would be a race for the minor places. Hope Tai and the Swedish riders are not seriously hurt as they were serious soil samples.
  21. My family and I aren't locals and have always found it relatively easy to get the bus from near Manchester Piccadilly and then 5 walk to the NSS. Usually plenty of buses run to Belle Vue / Hyde Road.
  22. Fully deserved and congratulations to Peterborough Panthers , were the better "team" over the two legs. Really impressed with Dan Bewley , what a racer his heat win in 13 would of been worth the admission money alone. Really good meeting over two legs and fair play to the Panthers and the Aces.
  23. Top meeting that !! Superb speedway and fair play to the Panthers for knuckling down and battling back. Scott Nicholls was excellent - Sure he will be happy that he has the pace around the NSS. Bomber with his usual Grand Final exploits. Role on Thursday ... Enjoyed that meeting.

    Swindon Stadium

Prime minister Boris Johnson has spoken out against the building of new homes on "green fields" and in England's "overheating" south east in his conference speech, and instead indicated a preference for "beautiful homes on brownfield sites"....... so with new housing surrounding the stadium site it is only a delaying tactic until excessive costs force closure of stadium announcements. As for Polish league speedway eventually destroy leagues in all the other countries ...... they need to cut their cloth accordingly. The top tier of riders have every right to chase the money which is the Polish League and then what works financially or logistically. Unfortunately the local Government or City Councils are happy to support + promote Speedway most of the new stadia is funded by City Councils and most are accepting of the sport plus they see the City having a successful Speedway team as a positive for promotion , tourism and media opportunity. In the UK we are all about noise pollution and closing venues down.
