Eastbourne V King's Lynn 05/07/14
goldeneagle replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Stevec you have to admit Joonas was pitiful against the Stars he made little or no competitive effort trailing in last and by a country mile at that in all but one of his heats. The only point he score was the result of Iversen falling. His season so far has been poor to say the least. To be honest we would have been better keeping Dryml than signing Kylmakorpi particularly as we are only a home track team. -
Last time he tried for planning permission it was refused as the council wouldn't allow major development west of the A22 That was about 2007 give or take a year or two

Not sure who your talking about but one irate supporter there forked out £500 to sponsor his racing outfit, having seen JKs performances this season I think he should come round to the home straight stand and publicly refund him his £500. -
Eastbourne V Belle Vue 7/6

I sat in the meeting, it was Dugard but not worth an arguement. Jon Cook left in 2006 8 years ago doesn't seem that long -

You have to remember Bobs doing us a favour allowing us to attend, everything wrong with the Eastbourne club is usually down to us fans, internet nerds or words to that effect he once called us. -
Eastbourne V Coventry Select 17th May
goldeneagle replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Couldn't agree more 9.40pm and heat 10 hadn't been completed. It was boring and no disrespect to Coventry riders they tried,Numerous track grades,Riders allowed to return to the pits even for the most simpliest exclusion. As an Eastbourne supporter it wasn't great viewing unlike stevec (good supporter that he is) who sees every thing through management eyes this type of meeting does little to promote speedway, hence the smallest crowd of the season.Credit to the bees fans that turned up without them the attendance would have been a lot less. -

Coventry certainly one of the top 3 supported clubs that visit Eastbourne and in the past they have come by coach although I dont think they did last season. Lakeside and Poole being the other well supported clubs at Arlington. Probably because we mostly race Saturday nights. -
Eagles V Wolves 03/05/2014 7.30 Pm
goldeneagle replied to sussex bulldog's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Cant agree David, most were decided before bend 2 and to be honest in my opinion it was boring meeting, Tractor out after most heats, not all admittedly. Wolves although not at full strength were poor.Hopefully next Arlington meeting will be better -
Elite Riders Championship - 25/09/2014

Doesn't surprise me speedway is a poorly managed sport, is in severe decline and episodes like this only hasten its end. Once again the fans are shafted and sky must be totally impressed. To say its not the BSPA's fault is wrong in my opinion surely someone from that bunch should have been monitoring the situation regarding the track. -
Waste of time, Management have in the past had little interest in the fans opinions so hardly likely to change now.

I'm pleased for the fans of Peterborough Panthers Great Christmas present for them. I wish them well in the PL. -
British Speedway Promoters Meeting
goldeneagle replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think its a hashed together scheme poorly thought out, open to abuse. No independent body to oversee the "drafting of the National League riders. For several seasons we've put up with hashed out rule changes, averages reduced to cut costs etc and attendances continued to decline. These changes wont bring back the lost punters indeed except the die hard fans on this forum more will walk away. I'm an Eastbourne Supporter we've put up with Bobs threat of closure for years now been very close to it once so I feel sad for the Peterborough Panthers Fans that through no fault of theirs their club has gone, I sincerely hope that they find a buyer. -
World Cup Final 14th July
goldeneagle replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I for one was pleased Denmark won. As for the Aussies being bad losers, well you don't want a team of good losers, Crump and Holder always give the impression of losing gracefully despite their obvious hurt inside of losing. True Holder did his image little good by spitting out towards the camera man,but did he need the camera shoved in his face so soon after the moment of defeat? With regards to the joker I think its a joke in a world championship. Pedersen hit the nail on the head when he said imagine a world cup football final when a team gets 3 goals up then the next opposition goal counts for 3. If we have to have it change the name to something more appropriate and make it only usable when 9 points behind not 6.The seeding of the holder nation going direct to the final might ensure GB get to the final in the future. -
Swc - The Race Off
goldeneagle replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would have thought that was just about our strongest team and certainly one of our better performances of recent years. Whether or not Scott Nicholls should have been in is a matter of opinion his form of recent has been inconsistant although there are signs that its starting to come together and if next season his form is good enough Rob Lyons may well choose to select him. I dont know "whats going to happen 4 years down the line" but dont forget its not like the Football World cup every 4years, we go again Next year hopefully Bridger, King, Kennett, Woffinden will have benefited from this years experience.
