What Ave will he come in at ???.

If it’s Shamek he finished on 6.75 when he was last here with Poole in ‘14.

if it’s Piotr I think was around 7.30 in the same year.

Edit-Presume you meant Lampart? If so my guess is a 5?

Oh dear ...not the best signing...

He's a really good signing, the rest of the team just looks a poor use of a higher limit.

Getting him at reserve to start with Cook or Brennan dropping there after the first set is great, if you can get riders in to win heats 1,13 &15.Which I don't see happening from the rumours.

Pawlicki and Laguta to finish would make the side look a lot different but if it is Zagar and Schlein as expected then it will be a long old season in the midlands

The New year classic at Newport was an eagerly anticipated event and was staged in a variety of conditions due to the time of year, but Tim Stone always managed to select a bunch of riders who were prepared to give it a go regardless of the conditions, not always the best line up, but no prima donnas who were not prepared to give it a go, it produced a few non-fancied winners like Lee Smart, although even back as far as 2004, 2005, 2008 Chris Harris was a winner and that says it all !

God I miss those wet, baltic Sundays in Jan. How they managed to get the track to stand up to some of the conditions still baffles me to this day.

Barker beat a good number of those riders to come 3rd in british final and I would back him against any of them at Plymouth.

He did and will put on a decent show and can't knock his effort. But, he hasn't been very trustworthy to see out a full season of late

The problem is, I don't think they would have two strong reserves all year (unless Joe T improves). If they had Bowtell & a 5.00 reserve, I'd say you could cover for lack of heat leader strength, but not when built 1+ points below the limit.

From the reserves announced so far, Joe T is definitely the strongest no7! Piper, James, Hagon, Trigger, Harrison, McGurk he beats 9/10 for me.

Then you will have either Bowtell, Gilkes or Dan T at reserve with him. At home they should be very hard to beat and will take some bettering away too.

Reading what's been said about team spirit at Plymouth last season by management I can't see Gilkes being back there.

Can't see Anders either, how's he going to get from Plymouth on a Saturday night to Poland next day?

It's not like riding at a track near a decent Airport.. He'd have a 3 to 4 hour drive at least to Bristol or Birmingham or Luton

Re winning heats Strong reserves give good chances in heats 2 and 8 and to a degree 14. Fair enough to be strong in 13 and 15 but if you're losing heat 2 and 8 just as important

Agree on Rowe - just going off the rumours on here that they are the final three. The way other teams have shaped up so far, I'm not sure where else those two would go

You can't win meetings if you can't win races. If that was the team, we'd be nowhere near the playoffs

Would see Barker and Rowe in the big heats against

    Harris&Worrall/ King&Wright/ Nicholls&Masters, Lawson&Brennan or the Cooks.

Scary thought, especially away from home

He's from Argentina.  Italy was just a flag of convenience to let him race in Europe without a visa.   Since Brexit, l dunno......

He is but lives in Italy with his Italian wife and young family. He didn''t like travelling before the family came along so I can't see him back now.

Would be a great signing on a 7 at Plymouth though. Going with Rowe, Newman and Gilkes as the last 3 with just Barker as a known HL is very risky but would mean 2 strong reserves all year - is that enough to compensate for his 13&15?

They have to start the season on a lower team average than they ended last year with, so they were bound to be weaker..

Unless they could have got a "four point superstar" on an obviously false assessed average..

Personally I would have gone for a weaker No6 and replaced Blodorn with Charles Wright, as "the tail" looks too long if the Aces want to be title contenders...

Thy don't look like they have that "4th Heat Leader" that they had with Wright, and, instead have two clear Second Strings and two clear reserves..

I think it’s the mountain signing that jumps out for me the most.
I expected a 4 pointer out of no where like Blodorn was to fill that other reserve spot. I guess the hope is that Blodorn kicks on and Cook establishes himself as that no4 heat leader. Tough ask.

It was so frustrating this season watching lambert boss the heats and then choose gate 2 and give big guns gate 1 to just push him out of the way. Happened 3-4 times. I get he’d won races off two but if you’re backing yourself to make it off 2 just back yourself to make it off 1 and when you do you’ve got the advantage to push your opponents out like they kept doing to him.

Completely agree, Crumpy was with him at most meetings and would have expected his experience to have had a word at some point. Unless he was ignored, heard Lambert has changed his team completely this year. I wonder if anyone in the team will help with that side of his meetings

Needs to become a lot tougher on track if he is to get anywhere near world champion. Hell of a talent but is way too soft presently

He isn't the only one but it feels a lot more noticeable with Dan.

Him and Lambert were bullied out of semi & final spots too many times this campaign.

If I was the new social media guy dealing with the fricke annoucement...

Firstly - A short video of his best passes at leicester and in the grand prix

    2. Followed  by a clip of the track record he broke last season

    3. Then a short interview with max about why he wanted to sign for us again

    4. A week or so later I'd have a full interview / Q n A session with max. Can be done over Skype if he's back in Australia.  Can talk about his ambitions, favourite tracks, riders etc.

Sounds way too progressive, informative and forward thinking for anyone involved in speedway promotion!

Listen to the podcast introducing Brennan snd it’s blatantly obvious, he repeatedly mentions one name in connection with who negotiated his arrival ….., Laurence rogers

Could it just be that Tolley has asked Rogers for help as he used him so many times as a guest in the last few years, they must have a good working relationship

    Please....NO!

    Lawson would be welcome though....

I think Harris has to be a contender ?

I’m just putting history and low points together.
I wouldn’t go near him after last year but he would fill a gap in that 2/6 spot at a track he goes reasonably well at.
