it does at scunny but its all about the time they have to prepare the track between meetings. this past weekend the stocks were on till about 8.00 on sat night and the speedway started at 3.00 monday and the track was in a good condition for speedway this is due to the fact they would have been able to have all the time needed between meetings but at sheffield they cant maybe wont be able to do this as there are other things going on at the stadium that would stop them being on track.

been down and watched nike's first 3 races. looked good in first 2 although a bit sluggish out of the gate he won fairly easily but got beat by both greenwoods (olly&dan) into 3rd. very close no more than half a bikes length between nike and dan on line and nike would have easily done him if there were some dirt to work with, blue groove appeared after only a few heats so cant really judge him too much on the track the way it was. nike does have a cool hairstyle though makes aaron summers look nearly bald lol

why not try and attract the 18-35 years olds by stocking the bar with more variety of drinks and advertise the speedway as somewhere fun to go before they all head into town, most people in their 20s generally dont head out till 9 anyway. like nbt said update the music and have rider themes after they have won their heats and try and get finished for 9.30 at the latest (if no major incidents). ive heard few of complaints about the sound system not being very good and not being able to hear scores so why not build a scoreboard, it dosent have to be too expensive something based on the old cricket ones a big bit of board painted white with home and away in big black letters on top then you just hang numbers on a nail with current score and maybe last heat result on it, it could be put in corner of pits by the entrance to the track and one of the pit marshalls update it.

while winning championships is great i would much rather watch entertaining speedway, winning at home every week is important but would much rather see 46-44 every week then see big thumpings. this is why i love the ewr as it sends me home feeling entertained every week. looking forward to see what this 2015 team serves up, roll on march

i dont think people understand what the stags are trying to do this year, it is very simple steve jones will be at 1 and the rest of the team will be 3 point rookies. there will be no 12 point riders and certainly no aussies in an all british league. by no means is it going to be easy and there will likely be some big losses but it will benefit the stags for 2015 then maybe if progress is made maybe the scorpions 2016/17 then poole 2018/19 and maybe 2020/21 team gb could have a crack at the world cup with a team rolled off the scunny production line. not saying this will happen but you never know. imagine a wold cup team in 2021 consisting of 1, tai woffinden (started at cl at ewr) 2, craig cook (had first meeting as a saint) 3, ash birks (started as a saint) 4, richie worrall (started as a saint) 5, any one of 6 young rookies to start the season as a stag.

most tracks try and stop the freeloaders, as far as i am aware the only people who should get in for free are riders, mechanics and track staff. most clubs allow 1 mechanic and one guest with each rider but trying to enforce this can be a nightmare as they hide in vans that are kitted out with beds etc and without completely searching every van as they go through the pitgate sometimes 2-3 can sneak in on every van. 14 vans with say 2 sneaking in can cost a club charging £15 entry is £420 in lost revenue to each club each meeting. stamp this out and it can make a small difference over a season. track staff all get in free and i think this is fair as they as far as i can see work hard but i have seen them going into tracks with a car full and their friends/family go straight to the stand and dont pay entry. this should also be stamped out as it cost the club. after these important people are in everyone else should be sent to the gate and made to pay entry.

another interesting thing looking at the fixtures is all the bank holiday fixtures say followed by nl meeting. is this a return for the saints/stags or just challenge style meetings like 2013.

if tai fails to retain championship this year he will probably have 108 in 2015. im sure i read that if vettel will carry #1 in f1 as champion and has registered as #5 for any year he is not champion.

if it is masters and we use a 3 pointer then this will leave only 4.72 for last rider meaning ryan douglas will start in the main body unless we drop another rider and bring in jorgy and another rider above 5.03 to keep ryan at reserve.

sheffield have 2 according to their website (1999 & 2000) while scunthorpe have one it once (2012), how many seasons have sheffild competed in pl compared to scunthorpe and who has the better record since scunthorpe entered the pl. look at the success that scunthorpe have had since moving in at the ewr in cl/nl and pl tells you who the most succesful club are in recent times.

so it has been announced in the telegraph and on here but there seems to be no mention of it on the scorpions main website, seems to me that this is going downhill. it said that a major announcement was to come soon with the correct amount of fanfare then just leeks out via the local rag.

just read an article from scunthorpe telegraph that the saints cannot come to the tapes next year, this is to do with copyright with the logo. the good news is that there is a chance scunthorpe will have a team in the national league which will be called the stags but it will all depend on what happens at the nl agm. really hope it happens as i love nl racing and it will mean more fixtures at ewr next year.

Would ash birks qualify for the 2.5% british reduction for coming through national league.

we seem to be building with strength in depth, if we went with birks howe and jorgensen plus a 3 pointer then we would have a very strong reserve all season which is what i think you need for a championship winning side. who would people want as a 3 pointer, would love r lambert but so would everyone else if not him then go with either olly greenwood or even get steve worrall back.

i had thought that but looking at his scores at most tracks last season and the fact im positive he can improve to maybe a 8.5 this season i have no problem with him starting at #1 especially as josh auty is also in the team and if he does struggle early on josh will go to #1 where he had a very good 2013
