Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final

I will send my apologies to the few decent Poole fans but all have gone on ignore because of the arrogance of a couple. My head just can't take anymore garbage. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win over the course of 2 legs and fingers crossed for 2 stunning meetings that us neutrals can really enjoy.
  2. The engine room of Knight & Mallett is massive for us. 6-7 each from them might see us have a chance
  3. Think we would have smashed Mildly out the park even without Josh's crash and boy what a crash it was. How the fooking hell did he manage to try and continue reading is beyond me. It was horrendous. You're right about the racing being strung out but still enjoyed it. Will be different next week though. Halsey's move on Kerr went beyond hard riding to just down right dangerous. Assuming the who-ha in the pits was off the back of that.
  4. If they go through with the threat this time I think it would stick. Polish League speedway is the biggest pay packet in the sport and no GP rider in their right mind wouldn't & probably couldn't afford to not ride Poland

    Midenhall V King's Lynn 29/09/13

As I've said previously, Lambert doesn't need British speedway. It's been a pleasure watching him throw some laps in.

Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final

At Wimborne Road, if all rider's ride at their best the Brummies will struggle to keep with Jonasson and Janowski let alone Ward and Hancock. For the Brummies they need to keep their fingers crossed Dyer doesn't mysteriously disappeared for next week

Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final

I'll keep it short before this thread gets out of hand Poole by 18 at home
  8. Congratulations Pirates. Called it straight after heat 1. Swindon came out just to defend and got caught. So wanted Swindon to win as did 99% of non Poole supporters did but Swindon got what they deserved. Anyone that employs Kennett next season needs their had testing No tongue in cheek here, Poole definitely favourites for the title. Top 4 far superior to any of the Brummies top 4. Just all depends who Poole bring in for Dyer (you just know it's gonna happen)
  9. If Poole do make the final I can see the usual tactical disappearing act of Dyer for the final as he's far too weak at reserve for this point in the season. Who would be the 3 pointer picked to replace him I wonder!?!?!
  10. Even with T/R's right now I just can't see where any real heat advantages are going to come from. I think it is all over for Swindon
  11. If Poole can get within 2 points after 12 (blocking out the use of T/R's) it will be game over for Swindon. Poole just need to have their tactical heads on. If Swindon get use of the T/R it could kill any hope left for the Pirates (but saying that, Howarth apart, Swindon looking very ordinary)
  12. Can see Swindon getting battered

    Elite League 2014

I don't like run offs as the home team have clear advantage, even more so if you went with the 3 golden heats format you suggest.
  14. I think the double up riders is one of the best ideas about the Elite League but it doesn't work to it's fullest in the current format. IMO for this to work properly the EL has to move to 2 fixed race nights a week Monday / Thursday except for Good Friday where EL fixtures take priority. No Premier League team can ride on those nights

    Midenhall V King's Lynn 29/09/13

To only lose by 8 is a terrific result by the Young Stars. Wasn't at all expected without Kerr and Lambert Back to the NA for the second leg Wednesday for the Young Stars to smash Mildenhall back to Suffolk

    Crashes

This does get discussed quite a lot but in the last couple of weeks have become more prominent. The exhaust has taken a lot of flack for this but most of the crashes I've seen on TV and trackside it's been mainly riders coming together. My main question is really without banning the sport completely what can be done to make contact crashes safer??? Make neck braces compulsory?? Make air jackets compulsory??
  17. Agree with you on that one Shovvy. Brummies need to pick the home leg first as they'll get a battering at Swindon and wouldn't be good for their promoters back pocket

    Crashes

To be fair, I thought Iversen did turn left but that's another thread discussion. There is an issue with the exhaust but my concern and reasoning is with protecting the rider's themselves. When you see what they have to wear as a minimum requirement I'm surprised there isn't even more serious consequences. Someone may be on to something with rider's be closer and more unwilling to move. With the gradual improvements in safety have rider's become more trusting of their opposition?? Forget about the machinery, there must be better personal protection for these guys out there than what is already a minimum requirement. This is what I want to dig into.
  19. I agree. I did hate Ford with a passion after all the trouble I had with my old Escort. Mrs is trialling a Fiesta at the moment and I've been taking the nearly new company Focus for a spin. I'm starting to come round to Ford again. Are they worth the money???
  20. Can't call it. In the balance right now. Good speedway tonight though, that was by far the clear winner
  21. I think they will. 4 points down with the home leg left would make them extreme favourites but figures crossed Swindon bang in the 5-1
  22. Here comes the turn around folks, hold on to ya hats
  23. So, those that want the introduction of squad systems just like Poland because it's a better format than guests may want to think again after the farce in the Polish Play-Off Final I'll stick with the guest option thanks
  24. But this is all opinion and guess work isn't it?? Has anyone actually said they let someone win, even years after an event?? Many of riders have gone through the card and won meetings before their last ride and ended up at the back. Doesn't mean they've purposely helped a fellow rider with intention. It's just human nature, already won you then don't try as hard
