Can anyone decipher this in plain English in terms of Peterborough Speedway? (not what you think it means, only if you actually know)

We urgently need evidence, which we will submit, in two areas to assist our Asset of Community Value application.

    1) whether Peterborough Speedway is or has in the recent past being used to further social wellbeing or the social interests of the local community which is not an ancillary use.

    2) whether it is realistic to think that such a use if current may continue in the future or if it was in the recent past may occur at a time in the next five years.

    Seems reasonably simple.

Basically asking if the Speedway brings anything to the community outside the sport excluding match days.

Schools, charitable work, community gatherings etc.

It's a fair argument to the use of grounds as Speedway is once a fortnight for 6 months.

Ridiculous if averages that are 9 and 10 years old are used

It is ridiculous but have rider's ever had their averages increased?? Also to a half point figure of 7.50??

Absolutely, Birmingham's management have requested it rather than the rider's being given it.

The numbers just make no sense at all, Pawlicki & Milik are nowhere near 7.50 rider's

I like your thinking! Lemo is notoriously slow to make changes so I don’t really see BV as a threat to the top four

That's not a problem for Belle Vue. Do enough for top 4 & strengthen up in August. Changing early isn't necessary if the team can at least win at home

Its not just the impact on Birmingham speedway, when this side travels how many fans might decide to stay home rather than watch a very one sided affair? There will always be happy clappers but there are an awful lot of spectators who wish to be entertained. There will also be other promotions who aren't relishing the costs of facing and soundly beating Brum.

Brum may get 4 reasonable gates when Woffinden & Sayfutdinov roll in to town but the other clubs offer nothing for the home fans to get up for if they're getting wolloped week in week out

Does anyone know why the last 2 signings are 7.5 when that is not their true average.

As mentioned before, it's so better guests are available when they go AWOL for whatever random reason.

Laguta / King's Lynn set a precedent for this last season

It actually suits Birmingham for their riders to be on these averages rather than Pawlicki (7.32), Milk (5.67) & Lampart (5.00) as it means if anyone is missing they'll be able to use stronger guests or r/r. Plus Z.Cook at reserve could be a real trump card.

However I don't understand how they can increase the averages of Pawlicki & Milik, but decrease Janowski's, while Pedersen, Kasprzak & Woffinden returned on their old averages. Should rules not be consistent for all?

The rule judgements on averages has become an absolute joke this season.

In real money, Birmingham are 4.60 under the average. Absolutely embarrassing team building.

I'd be concerned about Birmingham's sustainability in the top division & whether they'll see out the season.

    Absolutely shocking team building

    Tolley in the Star.

Claims to have spent ballpark £300k in past 2 seasons and may be another 70k on top.

Claims to have spoken to Lindgren and "Russians", and "If say Bartosz Zmarzlik wanted to ride in this Country next season we wouldn't be frighted about what the money would be"

Goes on to say he is looking to bring in at least one rider "of GP standard"

Says at end that in further article NEXT WEEK "exciting news for Brummies fans ....and a new challenge way beyond riding in the Premiership"

We used to get chat like this with Sandu, Ford, Rathbone etc. Seen all this before. Guess what happens next??

That's right, they're booted out by stadium owners or the establishment eventually.

If you want to chat big about your finances, build a safe & secure track for the clubs future first & foremost rather ego boosting waste on GP rider's.

It's absolutely horrific this stuff gets dished out, building up the fans only then to see their clubs gone within 5yrs of this such nonsense

Half Speed ???...A.winning home team is a must ..

Pole's in Poland = full throttle

    Brum = Slow motion racing

A winning home team is a must but at the same time, in general, it's never the case for the bottom 2 teams.

If the Pole's get to grips with Brum I don't think they're a bottom 2 club. Oxford look horrific to me & King's Lynn risking injured & injury prone rider's could bite them hard yet again.

Don't claim to know much on this subject but it appears to me that the club is worthless and Chapman is sitting back allowing the consortium to do all the hard work to attempt to re-establish it before attempting to sell it to them.

    That's absolutely it.

Why would you hand over ownership of something of no value to which you've spent 10s of £1000s on, only for the new owner to potentially build (exaggeration I know) a 10,000 seater stadium & have a sell-on value of £ms??

If the new consortium find acres of land & get building regulations approved, Peterborough Speedway's licence would then have market value & a rightful return for Chapman.

  10. How would many line the team up??

Getting the team in the right order as we have rider's coming back from big bangs last season.

    1. Tobiasz Musielak 8.69

    2. Michael Palm Toft 5.13

    3. Vadim Tarasenko 6.94

    4. Benjamin Basso 6.25

    5. Niels Kristian Iversen 6.64

    6. Patryk Wojdylo 5.00

    7. Anders Rowe R/S

For me the engine room of No3 & No4 is so important so I'd make sure it's an injury free pairing home & away.

Iversen's experience as a heatleader (although injured) should be able to hold his own in his first 3 rides at No5.

Musielak should offer a bit of protection to Palm-Toft at No2 until (if) he can get back to full fitness.

There never is & never will be a "4th heat leader".  Three heat leaders, two seconds strings & two reserves.... is a speedway team.

Team is Ok, don't see it being able to challenge, may scrape the Play Offs.  Other than possibly Blodorn & Bewley I don't see any improvement.

Under the current team average, I'd argue there's only 1 heatleader & 4 2nd strings. Only the top averaged rider has a fixed position in the team.

It's only OUR historic habits & Team Managers that 2nd in averages goes at No5 & 3rd goes at No3.

Those days have long gone, the top 3 can ride at No1, No2, No4 if seen fit by the TM. Some teams are build with no heatleaders at all.

We should change are view that someone placed at No2 & No4 are of lesser ability of a No3 & No5.

Can't argue against that, but he has won rounds in last season and the season before GP/s, hopefully we will see a faster tougher better gater Dan Bewley in 2024 and if we do, look out Mr Zmarzlik, an Englishman is after your title.

Bewley for me is the only challenger to Zmarzlik based on his pure speed, as other have said, he needs to put himself in difficult positions to progress as speed alone won't get you there.

Kerr is proven at all UK tracks

Wojdylo although done well with Pboro is still somewhat unproven over the course of a full season

Palm-Toft has had injury problems so maybe he is more on Kerrs level

If Iversen dropped to reserve I'd be extremely concerned rather than looking at it as a positive

Why, I fully expect out No6 to be on a 6+ average. Providing all are fully fit I don't think that's unreasonable to expect.
