I think mathematically they had to put JE at 6 and DG as RS to get under the 40 point limit

They would have both been 3.

Gilkes being the better rider is ideal to keep at RS, that way, if he betters his average again you'll get a better benefit from his -25% in future.

The point of boxing and martial arts though is not to kill your opponent... or even hurt them for that matter, it's about scoring points

but if you knock someone out the crowd love it…..and the very fact someone has been knocked out means the brain has suffered a trauma that could cause death.

Rider's & driver's almost killing themselves is also a selling point in all motorsports, the adverts are full of crashes, so (new) fans expect it. When it doesn't happen it's deemed boring.

Racing is boring without a crash

Boxing is boring without a knockout

Ice Hockey is boring without a smash in to the boards.

Naturally, what keeps people interested & talking about sport is controversy. Without it, nobody would watch it. Controversy is what keeps people on the edge of their seats.

I really hope somehow they can put together a competitive team not just the dregs leftover from elsewhere. But it does feel like there are icebergs all around and someone just yelled "all ahead full"

King's Lynn are the dregs experts so Birmingham should be safe for 6th at least :D

I'm not keen on "Spires" like you suggest a move back to "Rebels" would be more relatable. Other options could be "Dons" after the teaching staff at the University or even "Blues" as the boat crew are called Even use the Ox from Oxford & be "Bulls". Then as there are already "Chargers" why not " Lightning". I think there are many better options that will have more meaning to the Oxford fans.

I also wish they were using "Rebels" again. I think they are missing an oportunity there. The return of the Rebels would have been a good idea and meant something to many Oxford supporters.

Didn't Somerset have to drop 'Rebels' for "political correctness" reasons?

  5. Representing in the top league, surely they should be the Cheetahs & the lesser name in the Championship. Random decision to me.

Oxford must have some serious backer to be running 3 leagues or the conspiracy theorist in me is thinking it's purely for the TV financial package, and Oxford withdraw from the top division after a month

    Just seen this on TwitterX:

Looks like Bartek is on some kind of Orlen promotional day with Robert Kubica... the daft thing is though is he's wearing his "Infinite Reality" SGP race suit and not his "Orlen" one he got thrown out of the Danish GP for!!!

Hope he doesn't lose his Orlen sponsorship over this one :drink:

Has Orlen in massive print on the suit?!?

  7. I've had no response to this question from someone that really should know.

Can Richie Worrall mechanic for his brother??

In any other sport participants are suspended from all activities yet, from what I can find out, that doesn't seem to be the case within Speedway.

I'd find it completely absurd if he can find a way to make money within the sport while suspended feom riding.

Is this the case or not??

    Why?

Just don't think they can add to their current averages. If King's Lynn go strength in depth, we need to find rider's that can add at least a point.

The King's Lynn management are in a tough predicament as they've got to dump the whole 2022 side except Anders Rowe. Scooping up the dregs from Peterborough is also not the way to go as they too were not good enough either.

Ben Cook & Chris Harris from Peterborough & Anders Rowe at King's Lynn is all I'd take from 2022.

I think we have to accept that we don't have the necessary sponsorship or financial clout to start the season with an expensive number one, which means a proper solid, Peterborough 2021 style team is our best chance of being competitive. They've tried it the last two seasons and it hasn't worked out, maybe third time lucky?

As well as those names mentioned I'd heard the likes of Brennan, Klindt, Jenkins mentioned on the grape vine too. They've git to get it spot on with no weak links and second strings and reserves who very rarely concede iinta to their opposite numbers.

With their injuries, King's Lynn have to avoid Klindt & Jorgensen if they want strength in depth.

Musielak & a reintroduction of Lawson is a must for me at No1 & No5.

Anders Rowe at No6 (not as rising star) is worth the shot with 25% reduction.

Not sure I'd go near Tarasenko & Basso to be be honest. Would prefer Harris at No3 then fill the gaps

I see most people have gone with six heat leaders and a R/S......I've deliberately named two second strings and two reserves as I think that's more in the spirit of a 'team'.

It's fair but I don't think you can include someone that's only done 4 meetings in Wojdylo & Sedgmen fell off a cliff when Leicester needed him most.

The problem is ahy club can say they are going to have a good season, but the riders have to do it on track.

The last two seasons I thought Lynn looked good (not many others agreed I'd admit), both times based on always having a strong number 6, so as a fan I wouldn't belittle their team selections.

On the other hand Birmingham have twice said they've got a play-off strength team, but it's looked to me (and everyone else) like a near-bottom team.

I thought Kings Lynn team at the start wasn't bad either. I didn't think it would win the league but certainly make a case for the play offs. Signing riders like Lawson will steady the boat but they are desperate for a number 1.

The problem with King's Lynn, the septet never has anything exciting for fans to look forward too. Every season it's just meh. Then we get fed nonsense that there isn't the rider's available but every other club seems to find them.

We've seen this club give spots to rider's coming out of, or about to retire. Cheap.

The concern is King's Lynn doing a mash-up of King's Lynn / Peterborough 2023 for the new 7. Both teams an absolute mile off so why would it be different in 2024??

Apart from getting Bomber & Tarasenko at King's Lynn giving excitement from the back where's the results coming from?

Lawson, Iversen, Basso, Kerr, Klindt, Worrall are flat-lining rider's. Race winners will again be a tough ask.

For me, King's Lynn needs to turn a corner & think outside the box, steal rider's from other clubs, be bold.

This club is desperate for a genuine (SGP / Ekstraliga) No1.

We all know what's coming in 2024.
