What an awful thing to say. You will not find a more dedicated reliable and professional rider than Simon To say win or lose doesn’t matter to him is disgraceful and disrespectful. You are obviously just sat behind a keyboard wanting something to say Well stop knocking the riders that do turn up to ride. They ride with passion for the sport they love and dedicate their time and finances to. Riders go and put their life on the line each time they line at the tapes No points means no money earned. If your not dedicated to the sport then don’t do it. So I think you owe an apology to Simon for your stupid comments on here. -
Panthers89 you really know how to knock riders confidence don't you?

Kings Lynn V Swindon - 27-08-2014 @ 19:30
Modd replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The main thing is KL won the meeting. They all rode well . Don't forget Simon is riding in a specially made hand brace having broken his left hand in 3 places just over 3 weeks ago. He had 8 screws and a metal plate inserted so it is rather early to make a come back. -
I agree this was an absolute shambles of a meeting. Having arrived early to find there was no electricity, the track with stones all over it and riders not wanting to ride and delays galore. These events were eventually sorted out but what really got me raging was to see an 'official' tying up the large gate near the standing area (metal cage panel) from the outside car park. This clearly stated with the proper signeage that it was a FIRE EXIT. The cage had fire exit signs on it. What is this guy thinking of?? We shouted at him and pointed it out but he just walked away. Health and Safety at its best!!!! Sort this one out Stoke for y our own good. Next time we go - if ever there is a next time - it would be nice to see a well prepared track. Not a track being worked on ten minutes before the start. Shambles!!!!!

Rye House V Workington... 5th July, 7pm
Modd replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Shadders you really don't deserve a speedway team to support. All you seem to do on her is moan and groan about Len, John, riders, food, drink, etc etc. I don't know who y ou are and I don't use this forum very much at all but all you seem to do is complain about everything. You obviously don't understand the mechanics of running a team and realise that the team has to score to be paid. If you are not scoring you are not earning.!!!!! Easy !. Do you think these lads go out on track and get low scores for the fun of it. Come on give them a break. Next meeting I would like to meet you and discuss a few issues with you personally. -
Simon did step down voluntarily at the last meeting for the sake of Rye House and a re-think for himself.

Somerset V Edinburgh Koc 27/8/13 @ 7:30pm
Modd replied to RebelRebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
'I doubt Garry May thought so, as he sacked Stefan after the meeting! Lambert got sacked before the meeting.' Wrong Mr. M. Simon was not sacked before the meeting. He was told after the meeting. He still isn't fit from his ankle break earlier in the season and still rides with his ankle strapped and in pain. He has to get back to full fitness to ride and score like we know he can. Somerset knew this when they took him on. -

I would also like to add to comments on here that last nights meeting was absolutely superb. The folk turned out for Tom, the rain stayed away and it was just a brilliant evenings entertainment. All the programmed riders turned up so no scribbling on the programme. The organisation of the meeting was excellent and there was something for everyone young and old. It was good to see Terry Betts back on a bike again. I liked the special touch for the young ones too. Having a young mascot/s walk out with each rider onto the track for the parade. Nice touch and something the kids will always remember! Thanks very much to Tom for his years of entertainment - the crowd and Kings Lynn speedway did you proud last night. All the best to you and Romana in the future. -
Isnt every speedway rider always looking for sponsors?
-
Come on you lot dont be so negative about it all. Give the lads a chance and I hope they surprise all the people on here that are knocking them before a wheel is turned for 2013 season.

To put the matter straight. When Simon was dropped from Leicester he was told by BSPA he would be able to double up and ride National and Premier League. So he committed to ride for Stoke and wait for a PL place to come along. Several PL teams approached him and asked him to ride but by then the BSPA had changed its mind and would not allow him to 'double up'. Despite approaches from several PL promoters they will not change their mind. So Simon is in a 'no win situation. Had he not been told he could do both leagues he would obviously have waited for a PL team to come along and not commit to Stoke Potters. He is a PL rider after all. And no Shadders he does not prefer the easier rides in the National League all he wants to do is be given the chance to complete the season in the Premier League and progress. Yes Rye House did jump in a bit too quick with a press release - as did plymouth a few weeks ago. The situation is out of Simons hands - he feels he has been dealt a raw deal - but he made a decision on the back of it and is committed to Stoke and will not let them down.

National League Pairs Mildenhall Sun 22nd 4-30 Pm
Modd replied to waco's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Parsloes 1928 nearly Simon has won the NL Pairs three times not twice. -
This mud slinging at each other is going a bit too far I think and is way off the subject i.e. the track. If you cant post positive thoughts dont bother to post at all. All this personal stuff doesnt belong on here.

Simon broke his scaphoid last Friday night guesting at home for Plymouth. Hes in plaster to the elbow for 6 weeks but he will be there tomorrow night cheering his team mates for the win!

Stoke Vs. Birmingham 8 October
Modd replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in National League Speedway
Unfortunately Simon broke his scaphoid at Plymouth last night and is in plaster for about 6 weeks. -
I have just returned from the Mildenhall match and witnessed scenes which are totally unacceptable in the so called 'family sport ' of speedway. Ok Lambert and Hargreaves had a bit of a coming together in heat 13 - who was to blame is irrelevant after what it lead to. The so called Mildenhall fans were 'out of their tree' . Not content with the general banter of booing and shouting etc.at Lambert a fight broke out in the pits between riders, mechanics from both sides. But what happened next outside of the away pits area I never want to see again. Grown men kicking Lambert sitting in his chair in his pit bay, rocking the fencing and trying to kick the pit fence down to get at him and have a go. What is it all coming to? People were jostled and fighting then broke out outside the away pits area. Do these people have any right to call themselves speedway fans? I think not!! More like brainless. This is totally unacceptable behaviour which then encites more trouble. If the management track down these people they should be banned from speedway for life. It was like witnessing crowd trouble at a football match. Im afraid Mildenhall Speedway today was certainly not 'a family sport' with scenes witnessed by children. It was a cracking meeting up till then and Stoke did well to pull the score back to a deficit of 8 points. But please can we leave the fisticuffs and troublemakers out of it for next weeks meeting.
