Latest Update From Oak Tree Arena
adam74 replied to oldtimer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Superb top 3, won't be better in the league. Wanted Josh at Somerset for a couple of seasons. Davies will hopefully kick on with his 3 Aussie pals, and Newman and Perry deserve to be back after last season. Sorry to see Vissing go, hope he gets a ride in England somewhere. Gave his all for Somerset. Look forward to hearing who the seventh is. -
Strong reserves will be the key. Rosco needs to work some magic...
-
I wish Seb and especially Steady all the best for 2013. Look forward to seeing Simon back at Swindon where he will get a warm reception. A good looking line up which includes our old mate Mads as well. Great team.
-
Personally I'm gutted he won't be back next season, but Rosco knows what he's doing. I'm just so glad he managed to win the league with us - I could see after the meeting when he was amongst the fans, that it meant more to him than anyone else. A fitting way to bow out I guess. I wish him all the best, and will still support him where ever he ends up.
-
Yeah you're wrong. Stead went back to Ash in time for the play offs.
-
Harris is a certainty for Swindon IMO. It's clearly obvious with his links to Rosco etc. Might not be a bad thing, solid second heat leader. I'm not sure... It's funny someone mentioned Hans and money. Someone said to him after the match at Poole ask for a pay rise next year, and his instant comeback was its not about the money. How true I have no idea. Going by his antics in the bar after winning the title, and his posts on Twitter - he wants to be a Robin next year.

Scunthorpe V Somerset (play-off Final, 2nd Leg), ***now Re-staged Monday, October 29th (7.30pm)***
adam74 replied to lucifer sam's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So, not only do the Somerset Management/Promotion book two useless guests for the final in Hall and Kerr - they then put one of them out in Heat 15 in a championship winning race - in front of the likes of Davies and Vissing. Absolute ludicrous and a disgrace. I would be disgusted if I were one of the full time Rebels. Well done to Davies and Monberg who can hold their heads up high. Unlucky on Doyle who was simply sensational all year...James Wright no comment. And last of all, well done Scunthorpe who deserved the title after their first leg performance. -

Somerset V Scunthorpe (play-off Final, 1st Leg), Friday October 26th (7.30pm)
adam74 replied to lucifer sam's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Scunthorpe would have romped to victory tonight had it not been for some bad luck. Needed someone to really take charge for the Rebels tonight - unfortunately no one did. Not sure about Kerr. 1 (gifted) point from 6 rides in two crucial Matches. Clearly out of his depth and a very strange decision. Heat 14 could have been the changer. A little to much to do now on Sunday. Scunthorpe clear clear favourites, but you never know. -
1. Batchelor 2. Morris 3. Harris 4. Zengota or Doyle 5. PK 6. Stead/Lampart 7. Cook/Ashworth Would this be close ish to fitting, no idea? I'd take solid all the way down with good reserves any day. Infact good reserves are key IMO. Hans has done nothing wrong at all but would keep Troy over him. Doyle - Rider of the season but will be hard to improve further. Others to consider: Zagar if available, Schlein, Magic, Bach, Aspergen etc..

New Year Classic 2012

Format is a strange one but don't really care. It's a meeting which is a bit of fun in the off season. Glad I made the trip..well worth the effort. Congratulations to Howe for the win, and to Ricky, Wilkinson, Lemo, Doolan, Wrighty and Schramm for putting in big efforts in terrible track conditions. Bit gutted the Rebels didn't bring Ashworth in for 2012... -

Paid to go over the bridge, and the clouds went black and the rain started hammering it down. Sat in my car now outside the track. Dry with Sun coming out but surely the damage has been done..??
