  1. That's a bloody good effort with no senior reserve and a below par Worrall.
  2. N I guess wiating until this morning might have been a good idea in hindsight but there is a yellow weather warning associated with a named storm and the track is right on the coast with very little shelter. Nowadays (rightly or wrongly) health and safety of paying customers is paramount and can sometimes go OTT, but it is what it is.
  3. I certainly don't defend my club 'to death', I've criticised them plenty in the past for poor teams and poor racing, which weve had plenty of. The main difference is the dirt used at Lynn, its high in clay for the stocks and certainly isn't my cup of tea and with a decent amount of rain on it it soon becomes unridable. And as has been said on that thread I don’t think flying loads of riders in with a dodgy forecast to not ride two weeks running was going to happen, But there we are, it's all about opinions at the end of the day
  4. In the absence of speedway tonight why not listen to the latest episode if the Pride Of The East podcast with special guest Shane Parker https://open.spotify.com/episode/2cO8eF55m82b8IdwjeH8et?si=SlnVRGpETimly2-IIxpzJQ https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CYM4SPJR/ref=sr_1_1?fbclid=IwAR2EWcc1CfRt3hNveh97fIN5rXWWjYsTiE_ex6EIfZmm9dsD6mjWKJL1F0c&ref=d6k_applink_bb_dls&dplnkId=ede25c16-92e1-4c33-af95-b332b0f17e71

    Poole 2024

I don't think any club should be castigated for making an early call if they genuinely think there's a risk of being rained off, even the unpopular ones
  6. It's also possible that the forecast they use deteriorated in those three hours.
  7. Met Office app the best in my experience, and certainly much more accurate than the BBC one. It was always said that Buster used RAF Marham weather station for his forecasts, I assume that's still the case. Forecast this morning looks a fair bit worse than it did last night so perhaps the club ha e got it spot on.
  8. This is a good point, I suspect the risk of paying to fly riders in for a second rain off in eight days was too great to take.

Where has the meeting thread gone?
  10. It wouldn't, but years ago bikes could be ridden in any conditions, riders were prepared to ride in any conditions and the public turned up in any conditions. It's frustrating but I'd much rather an early call than pay to get in and see Buster going round and round with the blade while fourteen riders who have no intention of riding anyway stand about with arms folded looking miserably at the track and the sky. Been there, done that too many times.
  11. Why would next week be off 8 days in advance?
  12. Not really, it's a numbers game and you can't have everyone back from a title winning team.
  13. Fair play and respect to you.

    Brummies 2024...

Genuine question, does your venting on this thread and the other one make you feel any better?
  15. They need PP to come in and start scoring number one points. Three of the top five were riding in positions tonight that they shouldn't be/weren't signed for although I accept you'd expect Milik, Cook, Worrall and Lampart to score more than eleven between them! I think Brum's issue this season is going to be inconsistency, they are never all going to have a good meeting on the same night and as such are going to find wins hard to come by.
  16. Emil obviously not feeling himself tonight after those Foxhole crashes on Thursday.
  17. Indeed, time will tell. Their luck with injuries will be crucial too as they haven't had much of it in recent seasons.

    Aces v Sheffield 01/04/24

Under 24 and senior teams in Poland. On the Round The Boards podcast last week he explained that nobody from the Championship contacted him until well after Christmas and by then he was already sorted with three clubs.

A sign of where the priorities of Bewley & Holder lie perhaps.
  20. Personally I don't think Knudsen for Jorgensen changes an awful lot in terms of Redcar's chances. Berwick just don't convince me, too many riders who won't improve and could go missing, plus they always seem susceptible to home defeats. They are arguably the best of the rest but I'd be astonished if they get anywhere near the top four.
  21. I would absolutely agree with that bottom four, I think that looks quite clear cut on paper personally. Just a question of who misses out on the Play Offs out of that top five.
  22. I have been (I enjoyed my visits), and I appreciate things have been widened and it's FIM standard. My point is that as with most tracks around a pitch the start/end of the straights will be a lot tighter than riders new to the UK are used to and its tricky. Even compared to places like BV, Worky, Scunny, Redcar, Glasgow etc. It's no criticism of the track, just the reality of the confines of the stadium. I'm sure those three riders will be much better on their second visit.
