  1. ok not just the PL pairs but all of them. Anyway the reasons why JC has quit are within shooting star's post in the EL pairs section. It seems Jonathan may have quit because he can't get his own way, but can you blame him after being promised all of the decision making? There are obviously some deep problems with the governing body of our sport as JC is the third person to quit a high profile job this season already and we are only in the second week of April. The sooner an independant body who actually have a clue takes over British speedway the better.
  2. Sorry chief you are contradicting yourself. Either JC made the PL Pairs qualifying criteria call on his own, or he is part of a comittee and has quit because he can't get his own way. Which is it to be?
  3. Which might well be the case if JC had made all the decisions by himself, which I find hard to believe. There must have been a comittee working with him as part of the decision making process.
  4. razzer you obviously had an agenda before posting so how can your opinions be taken seriously? As I have already said on this thread the watering of the track took place when the sun was still shining and the breeze strong, and it was a fairly brisk lap which certainly didn't soak the circuit. The damage was done by the twenty five minutes of steady rain / sleet which started just before the parade was due to commence. As for the 'boy wonder' it appears that he won't be in control of anything super seven related any more which should make you happy! Can't blame him for chucking it in if all the stick he gets on here is anything to go by.
  5. In my opinion the right decision was made, to be honest I was suprised that they were prepared to give it a go after the first lot of rain which was fairly heavy and lasted for a good twenty minutes. I wouldn't take too much notice of Buster's rant, he always speaks from the heart rather than with his head and I expect his opinion will be much less damning once he has calmed down. We have seen it many times before when he has worked hard to make a wet track raceable to no avail. And at the end of the day the referee has the final say regardless of what pressure he is or isn't put under I too was at Poole for the ELRC a couple of years ago and for me last night's track looked a lot wetter. And I don't think the watering of the track last night made much difference, at that time the sun and wind were both strong and the tractor only did one fairly swift lap anyhow. Feel sorry for those people who travelled long distances but unfortunately that is the risk of being a speedway fan. As SS says heavy showers were forecast and we got one. Hopefully a new date can be sorted when all the big boys can be there
  6. I am indeed so will follow ajh's lead for the day
  7. I believe Stephen Lambert posted on here earlier in the week that there were some pretty big roadworks on the A17 at Sutton Bridge, don't know if they are still in place though. Might be an idea to allow a bit more time just in case. Any forum members who haven't met me and wish to, I will be on the first bend furiously texting the updates through to Iffoid! Will be nice to put some faces to names

  9. If that was yet another dig at the Lynn promotion it has failed, seeing as the event is being run by Boston I would assume the extra cost is for the extra races, 23 rathewr than the usual 15
  10. On a similar theme Hampel & Swiderski would be a formidable pairing.
  11. Andrew Tully, Joe Haines and Ritchie Dennis were mentioned in last nights programme.
  12. Courtesy of the BSPA website yesterday Belle Vue: Crump & Gjedde Coventry: Harris & Schlein Eastbourne: Nicholls & Richardson Ipswich: Louis & Miskowiak Lakeside: Jonsson & Shields Peterborough: Andersen & Bjerre Poole: Pedersen & Watt Swindon: Adams & Batchelor Wolves: Lindgren & Iversen No mention of a wild card pairing
  13. Or failing that change the format so it caters for 9 pairs instead of 10 I think Nermark and Niemenen will do fairly well but its not ideal having a PL team competing in an EL event.
  14. Can't believe anyone can be critical of any rider on the first day of the season! Riders ease themselves back in at difference rates any some will probably have done very few laps since October. The best way to assess a rider properly is to look at their average at the end of the season. Glad it all went well today and that the weather stayed fine. But for the distance would definitley have gone along to see such a great field. Looking forward to seeing many of them in the ELRC.
  15. £6 for a programme? Would go without I think. Whatever anyone says on here about the booking system its still one hell of a line up.
  16. Good news. No one wants a repeat of the ELRC a couple of seasons ago!

Why was Mitcell Davey not in the field?
  18. In actual fact Trees Chris is talking out of his rectum as usual. The track for the ELRC was overwatered as admitted to on the night by Buster whereas for the Sheffield match it was 'over shaled'. Yep can't wait either, should be a top night. Although obviously not as good as it would have been at Hoddesdon
  19. Another tremendous contribution Christopher. You mother must be so proud! Missed the EL pairs last season so looking forward to being there this time. If its anywhere near as good as the ELRC post heat five it will be worth seeing.
  20. Neutral venue presumably. Also a good racetrack appreciated by most top EL riders (when not overwatered )
  21. Can't wait to see AJ round Lynn again. During our last season in the EL in 2002 he rode in three matches for Coventry at the NA and scored three full maximums. Nobody got anywhere near him, not even his team mates!
