  1. Until the qualification rounds are re-introduced there are always going to be arguments as to why this team or that team should or shouldn't be included. Its a shame because the event promises to be a very good one on a neutral track.
  2. Thats hilarious coming from a P'boro fan And before you bark back at me I love watching speedway at the EoES, and getting a covering of shale is part of the experience, at least it makes you feel close to the action unlike Lakeside or the Foxhole for instance And the 'doing up of the place' only really started properly three or four years ago, so give them a chance (although the car parks really ought to have been sorted by now). I don't particularly like standing on uneven grass banks but hey, what can you do
  3. Well I for one am glad that it was staged! Probably the best Lynn meeting I have seen this year with some great racing, and contrary to what greenman says I thought there were plenty of racing lines. Ok it was slick by Lynn standards but there was still enough dirt round the outside to offer a quick line. The race between Troy and Noddy was tremendous stuff Great shame about Tom but it could have happened anywhere at any time. Luckily we can use anyone bar Zorro, Havvy and Parker as a guest although it obviously hampers our chances for the Fours and Pairs (will still be there to support them though!) As for the track I now feel more comfortable about facing teams at the NA when its a bit slicker as they all looked quick last night, expect perhaps for JO who I think needs grip to ride at his best
  4. Mmmmm but surely a decision should be made before competing in such meetings? One or t'other and no going back. Have nothing against these two at all, just think its a matter of principle. And before you say anything no I don't agree with the likes of Oliver and Ksiezak being PL reserves if they consider themselves Aussies
  5. I suppose it depends on whether or not they are going to represent GB or Aus in the future. Joel Parsons has said that he considers himself British and has therefore cut himself off from representing Australia in the future and competing in their championships so thats fair enough. But I am sure I read somewhere that Woffinden considers himself 100% Aussie so why on earth should he be riding in the GB U18 final? As you say the sport is run by clowns in this country but thats a whole new thread
  6. It was announced over the PA that Wethers has withdrawn with a shoulder injury and Lee has replaced him
  7. I was referring to that part of your post Full line up as per Wednesday's programme (not in riding order): Doolan Batchelor Harding Nermark Topinka Mills Oliver Woffinden Lee Pjiper Tacey King J King D Jones Bridger and one other I can't remember

    Bydgoszcz Gp Chat Thread

Precisley what I was getting at iris123
  9. Don't think you necessarily need 'big' names to produce good speedway

I believe there will be two Brits seeded through to next years series and they will be Nicholls and Bomber Loram too old, Richardson lost it, Stead not ready

    Plrc - Line Up

Mmmmm pick a winner out of that lot Just a pity that Boxall isn't the Rocket's representative
  12. Wouldn't disagree with that at all pal!
  13. So was Andersen not still leaning on Nicholls when they entered the corner? At the end of the day its a GP and nobody in a Semi Final is going to shut off, and with the track as wet as it was somebody was bound to come a cropper, just happened to be Hans Classic 'six of one, half a dozen of the other' for me
  14. MrMungo! A rather blinkered view for a man of your considerable speedway knowledge Did you not see Andersen leaning all over Nicholls in an attempt to stop him going past? Or did you ignore that bit? As Kelvin Tatum said, Andersen's body was 'in completely the wrong position' going down the straight As I have said on the main thread it could have gone either way and Scotty was unlucky on this occasion, after getting lucky in Lonigo. Andersen could also have felt hard done by if he had been thrown out, but thats speedway And if nothing else these two characters make for great viewing when they meet on track

    MÃ¥lilla Gp

Both decisions were 50/50 for me. Of course the racing is hard! Gordon Bennett, its a World Championship Nicholls and Lindback were unlucky this time but their turn will come
  16. Andersen, Sullivan and Holta I reckon. Although it would be nice for Bomber and/or Steady to finish in the top three

    Tony Steele !

I thought (as Kelvin Tatum rightly said) that the Pedersen / Iversen one could have gone either way, but for me the Nicholls / Zagar incident was pretty clear cut. Scotty's move had reckless and desperate written all over it after he cocked the previous corner (?) up and without doubt he caused Zagar to fall. But hey you need a bit of luck now and again and I'm pleased to see Scott on the rostrum as I'm sure is his No.1 fan shooting star

    Tony Steele !

At that level there is a very fine line between dirty and hard racing. Thought Mr Steele got both major decisions wrong, I would have excluded Pedersen for taking away Iversen's leg and Scott for wiping out Zagar but there you go, thats speedway

    Congratulations Denmark

Definitely deserving winners, well done to them. GB had a good go after a bad start and whilst never looking likely to win they deserve credit too. As do the other two teams for playing their part in a very very entertaining meeting
  20. To be fair the heat 18 incident was one of those which could have gone either way. And I think the vast majority of people would have replaced Steady with Louis for the final if they had the power to, indeed many were suprised that he wasn't in the original five as he is the form British rider. It is soooooo easy to be wise after the event
  21. Heat 18: as Hans said himself, what goes around comes around
  22. Looks like Mr Andersen's naughty manouvre on Thursday had started a trend! At least the GB boys are only chopping across half the track and not from the kerb right to the fence
  23. Bagpuss

    Scott Nicholls

Well you have come out with some pretty astonishing stuff on this forum my friend but THAT takes the biscuit However your post would make a great dictionary definition for the word chauvanist

    Reading Tonite

Woah! I don't think the track is that bad tonight, could do with a little more shale perhaps. As pirate paul says our gating is dreadful. Hopefully we can pull our socks up and get back in contention
