The powers that be really dont get it do they? The EL is in terminal decline and what do they do to resolve issues, absolutely zip, de nada, nothing. The annual watering down of the EL meeting hasnt addressed or resolved significant issues both on and off the track and whilst they continue to bury their heads in the sand I can only see Peterborough Panthers as being the first of clubs that will follow the same route. Whilst Panthers fanbase wasnt great, the majority of those fans will be lost to speedway for good, if there are no takers for the club. Can speedway afford to lose fans from an already diminishing following? Despite the SKY coverage with peaktime Monday night viewing not a single club had a nationally known sponsor, why? GB speedway hasnt moved with the times. To many outsiders the sport is considered a joke and at times its hard to argue against that. The product on the track is constantly tinkered with year after to year to very little if any effect. Until the sport adopts a professional approach both on and off the track its not going anywhere.
