They broke no rules I admit but this is why the Rule book over a missing rider was tightened upBy your own admission, no rules were broken; so there was no ‘abuse of the rule book’. Whether the rules adequately deal with such a situation is a different matter.

This isn’t a one-off adjustment, the seasonal points limit has been increased.
NATIONAL Development League clubs have unanimously agreed to a slight increase to this season’s points limit.
The mark had been set at 36 following the third tier’s AGM last November, but it has now been raised to 36.25.

My next question then, if one of the top eight scorers after the twenty qualifying heats has had to withdraw from the meeting, would the semi-final they should be in run with a rider less (i.e, three riders only) or would the rider in ninth place be promoted to that spot.
Thanks again.

There is no conjecture. I have explained the situation, as a Peterborough Club Promoter at the time, you will not get anything more definitive.

Can't see why he'd want to dig his heels in no matter what was offered to him, he was prepared to sell before but had no written offers - ' put your money where your mouth is' comes to mind. I agree though that this season it hasn't looked like he's been trying to extend or move elsewhere but I'm only on the very outskirts of this and have no knowledge of what's actually been going on. Offer a fair price and that should result in a sale (future value increase clause included or not).
Absolutely not. Peterborough Speedway would have raced on in the Championship in 2019 under Ged’s ownership if the sale of the Club to Keith Chapman hadn’t gone through. The Club was well run, profitable and successful and in no danger whatever.

There is no such rule, the minimum three ride rule applies to a rider and it is up to the team manager to allocate the RR rides and any reserve switches to the best advantage.

Almost any ride!
SR 012.4.4 f) A rider nominated as an AR may, at the Team Managers discretion, take any ride at any time in heats 1-14, apart from the protected riders position in heats 2 and 8. Whilst the minimum ride rule does not apply, the maximum number of rides is 7.

It is British Speedway though so who knows
The eight-day rule doesn’t apply to the Home No 1 position

No such rule to my knowledge

35 minutes ago, Daniel Smith said:The 8 day rule doesn't exist in the Play-Offs then?
Yes, it would affect the guest for Woffinden as the same rider couldn't guest tomorrow and next Thursday for Sheffield at Owlerton - maybe a different guest will be used tomorrow to free up a preferred guest for the final? Lambert for Musielak is fine as per previous posts.

6 minutes ago, SpeedwayFan91 said:With Lambert and Lawson guesting at 1&5 again, can they also ride both final legs (if Tigers get through)? That’s the question!
Mountain also guesting for Vissing at 6
As long as the revised Green Sheets from 1st October permit it - yes!

I'm sure in previous seasons the NLRC is the only event that gets priority over the higher leagues, but I kinda expect to see Jenkins & Atkins racing for Oxford, with Kinsley & Killeen / Scott racing in the NLRC. Even if that's not a rule
SR 15.9 refers to the ban. SR 13.3 gives the NDLRC priority over higher fixtures.

Peter was the NDL co-ordinator for many years. A lovely man, gentle and kind.

Workington and Belle Vue are in the west!!

I’ve no idea, but I’m going to guess… Toni Svab?
Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Hull are in the East. Exeter is in the South West.

Jan Staechmann?

18 minutes ago, SPEEDY69 said:I disagree Neil. When Tarasenko made his debut for Glasgow, his average was higher than when he was signed - to me that's what an ordinary Joe would call a 'false average'.
Once again, astute use of the rule book - that still doesn’t make it a false average.

29 minutes ago, SPEEDY69 said:Glasgow getting in Tarasenko with a false average has made them into title favourites I think. 43-47
If a rider’s average is produced in accordance with the rules and approved by the BSPL it isn’t a false average. Astute team managing in my opinion.

Aggregate points were awarded for the BSN mini-leagues - https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2023-bsn-series/

Rule change? As they were used in BSN group meetings and same system of mini leagues.
SR012.1.1b Championship League Championship League, teams will meet on 2 occasions, 1 home and 1 away. The top 6 clubs qualify for the play offs going into 2 groups of 3. The team who finishes top will select their 2 group members, the other 3 Speedway Control Bureau Regulations 116 qualifying clubs make up the second group. The winners of each group will contest a 2 legged final home and away with the aggregate winner being crowned the Championship League Champions. A rider who’s team is not in the play offs may only guest for one team in each group of the play offs. Excluding the final. A rider may only guest for one team in any 2 legged tie (home and away).
SR012.4.5 Tactical Substitute (TS) Is not applicable in a 2 legged tie.
012 1.1b Restricts guests to riders from the bottom three clubs. each individual rider from those three Clubs can guest in both mini-leagues but for one Club only in each mini-league. 'Excluding the final'? I think this resets the clock and allows any rider eligible to guest to ride for a team in the final regardless of whether they guested for that particular club in the mini-leagues.
012.4.5 Permits Tactical Substitutes in the mini groups but not in the Grand Final.

That's correct.

Dan got 11 in the heats, vs Rob's 10, both finished fourth in the Semi's, and the rules state:
This would suggest that Dan should get 10 GP points and Rob the 9?
Have I missed something?
Dan Bewley was excluded from his semi-final, Lambert's 0 takes precedence over Bewley's X.

In my opinion every rider should be tested at every meeting.

28 minutes ago, tellboy said:If only they(BSPA) would be more consistent whether to keep old averages or new ones.It seems sometimes they will make it up just to suit a team to fit a rider in.
If there is an established MA from the current season it will be used (and be converted where necessary).

Sad news. John was a thrilling rider, I saw him many times at Peterborough when I was a youngster, scoring 18 point maximums for England for fun.
Later when I was a Promoter John was always ready with advice and guidance - a true gentleman.
He will be missed.
