very sunny now in newport, not a clue what the track is like, but if it stays this way throughout the meeting, it should be decent with the rain we have already had -

New Year Classic 2012
newpwasp replied to Devilforever's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
i got to admit, that if there is a LIST of riders that want to ride in this meeting, why can't this meeting accommodate up to 16 riders? a 12 man format just doesn't seem to be a good idea. I would love to know the reason why it is a 12 man format, and what the admission will be. -

New Year Classic - Newport

May I suggest you go away and find a sturdy brick wall and bang your head against it until it bleeds. Then go and look up the meaning of the words "more often than not". Then bang your head against the wall until you pass out. It might knock some intelligence into you. Awesome Comment! (Facebook like) -
not being funny but i could see it being called off by 4pm today, just by looking out of the window and checking the met office. but if the management honestly thought that there was a possibility they could get racing this evening then fair play to them, they obviously know the capability of the drainage system on the track, and i expect they would of worked hard to try and get the meeting on, and if it took up until 7pm to decide that with the weather and track conditions making it non raceable then so be it! In all fairness it would of been a poor crowd as people probably knew it'd be off with the amount of rain today. get over it and stop moaning.

Premier League Fours 15/8/10
newpwasp replied to Noodles's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
the BSPA really need to sort it out as they are terrible. why they won't let all teams in the premier league compete in the pairs, and why they don't bring back the 4s meetings at each track, making it fair that each team qualify from regional groups, rather than league averages. a lot bigger crowds would turn up for these events. each team deserves to be part of any final, as speedway is about each rider turning up on the day and providing the goods. they also need to move the PL rider away from sheffield to an EL track! anyone disagree? -
Newport Hornets ~ V ~ Plymouth Devils
newpwasp replied to newportspeedwayhh's topic in National League Speedway
- Glad the lights will be going up which should mean newport will be running next season... (fingers crossed of course). This should bring better racing with the night (the welsh sunshine has been far too kind), and if we change from sundays that might help us (ie. choice of riders perhaps, seeing that a genuine no1 could have joined us if they werent racing in other countries on sundays, but we'll see how Aspergren goes ). It certainly seems like Newport is planning for the future which is great news! -

Classic At Newport
newpwasp replied to P T Preece's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
No, keep it in Newport! its not as a prestigous event like the Premier League Individual, Pairs, and 4TT Chapionships, which SHOULD have a different track each year (should be held at an elite league track so know one has home track advantage)! it belongs in Newport and should stay in Newport.
