Phillips & Luty were joint owners of club but it was 100% Luty's cash. So if he's out of the picture where will Phillips get funds from? he indicated during season club was skint. Big risk for anyone who signs for them. Has Phillips proven to BSPA he has funds to finance club?

I note that the Cook has declined the offer to ride in forthcoming test matches vs Aussies Craig Cook @the_cookstar17h Shame I can't afford to do the GB v AUS test matches at Workington and Newcastle. Really looking forward to them as well From what I'm hearing points money not that bad, giving him the chance of earning over £1200 if he scored into double figures at both meets! He must be on a great deal at both BV and Edinburgh if those earning potentials don't interest him! Wonder if anyone else has declined the opportunity to ride in the tests?

No Gps On Sky Television Next Year?
Fiesta replied to The White Knight's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm sure BSI have contingency plans if no deal can be struck incumbent broadcaster. The viewing figures held up well even on the minor SS channel. I am pretty sure that they will do a deal with a UK broadcaster to show the GP's. -

Middleditch Must Go - New Gb Boss Needed
Fiesta replied to John Leslie's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Agreed Hoddle was removed from his job as England footy manager for inappropriate comments made to press. To hold onto the tiny bit of credibility our sport has then the same must happen to Middlo -
If whispers prove to be true then Mr Bowden may have upset one too many person at the BSPA!

Phil Moris Farewell 1.9.2011
Fiesta posted a topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I see the former Reading and Birmingham star is donating some of his proceeds to the SRBF and British Youth Speedway, nice one. -
I am shocked that Neil "Nikko" Day hasn't managed to secure this lad a place in a team for 2011. from www.nikkoracing.co.uk DO YOU NEED A MANAGER? Whether you are new to Speedway and would like to make a career as a professional Speedway rider, or if you have been riding for years and would like a management company to take the stress and hassle away from contract negotiations, sourcing sponsorship etc then contact us Sounds like you could do with a new manager Mark.

Team Gb V Australia Test Series
Fiesta replied to BigFatDave's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
As ever enjoyed the visit to Wimborne Road, decent sized crowd and good commitment from both teams. Ambulance situation not ideal, but same at most tracks unless SKY are there. Surprised that Middlo gave Bridger 4 rides, with the reserves doing so well. Also seemed that Phil Morris was working harder with the team than Middlo, is Morris number 2 to Middlo? -
By the way I hope Ferjan proves me wrong. As I think Newcastle are a cracking club with a good set up.

If his previous UK performances and commitment are anything to go by then the Diamonds are taking a risk! Could be Another Jiriout or Hauzinger

Come on Nikko get on the phone to Kings Lynn start those contract negotiations on behalf of young Mark! lol

As I was in the area last week, I decided to pay a visit to Weymouth Speedway for their match against Rye House Cobras, taking along a couple of friends and my 8 year old daughter. Now whilst I admire anyone who sets up and runs a track, I have to say that the place is shocking. No proper toilets only two portaloos, a dirty old caravan selling snacks and a bar with a rotten old sofa stuck in the corner, with decaying seating outside. Whilst I expected to find only the very basics, it's no wonder their crowds are so poor, my daughter bored whilst the tractor broke down on track counted 176 people. My mate who is a Health and Safety Officer for a large organisation, was shocked that the place actually gets a licence to run. We stuck it for 90 minutes (11 heats), but gave up when the tractor which had broke down several times, came out again and they took an interval. Only bright spot for me was the performance of Marc Owen, looked a very tidy rider indeed.

I'm sure Gareth will be keen to host the USA youngsters at Redcar!

Well said, but it's all about face fitting with the BSPA, presume Mr Bowden isn't in with right people. as I've said elsewhere - whilst British Speedway is self regulated it will never be taken seriously!

Is Winning At All Costs Destroying The El?
Fiesta replied to DarrenCook's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well said BW, whilst the sport self regulates and maintains it's "jobs for the boys" in sales and marketing then the decline will continue sadly! -
Rumour is that if another PL side go EL as rumoured then Plymouth will be invited into PL.

What a great shame that the future of Weymouth looks very bleak. Lots of people have obviously put a lot of time and serious money into getting the operation off the ground and it's sad to know that they've seen that ebb away slowly with the almost inevitible outcome arising today. What worries me is that even if someone does come along and agree a deal with the landlords and the BSPA to re-open they will need to spend some serious cash on the infrastructure of the stadium and also on PR to try and get a loyal fan base (which I know could be supplemented by tourists) but even then it's easy to get out of the habit of attending speedway even if you were once a devotee, look at Newport for a prime example! My personal view is that Weymouth would be an ideal venue to be a speedway academy and if the BSPA realised the only way we will ever compete with the Poles, Danes and Aussie's etc is to invest in the future, then that could be a possibility, sadly I don't think that will happen.

Blunsdon Abbey Stadium - Sbc Planning Meeting
Fiesta replied to SwineTown's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Stadia UK CEO - Clarke Osbourne, who is also a Director of Pontins, who have plunged into Administration today (thought the UK holiday scene was booming) As I have already said Stadia UK have a shocking record when it comes to promises over stadiums, the fact that Blunsdon is falling into rapid decay is very worrying, do they have an alterior motive?? -

I was tempted to go but the lure of a picture with Stojanowski in his caravan at the Terry Tibbs experience is slightly more appealing!
