  1. Wolbert is a known quantity in that you don't know what your getting each match and his score is no surprise. What is frustrating is Henry, last week r/r for him got 10+1 and a similar points return today could have had a completely different outcome. Surely he had a practice last week before confirming he was fit.
  2. Oops, never fails to happen, a nowt special opposition rolls up to the Ash and takes full points. Berwick have a habit of doing it though as I wasn't there were Berwick that good or Glasgow that poor? Whilst all the flak will be thrown at Wolbert, it seems Henry should share in that, if you are not fit don't come back. We were doing perfectly fine with r/r and don't see Glasgow putting him under pressure to return. That must only be his second home match since signing 7 weeks ago and to think Lemon is looking like turning the corner with Redcar now. With it being August next week make no mistake Wolbert will be there!
  3. Will Edinburgh accomodate an 11 point rider every season? He's a great rider who needs to make the move abroad. He has seemed overawed in the EL matches I have seen him in by some of the riders around him. Perhaps its not bikes but psychological and he needs a top rider to guide him to the next level.
  4. Its not like Anders to fall off for nothing! He carried too much speed on the backstraight chasing Rusty and lost it on the corner despite being under no pressure from Sheffield who had their reserve pairing out. Its becoming tiresome how many points he chucks away whilst also getting injured. Result was never in doubt today, a fairly lacklustre and drawn out meeting. Sheffield were poor apart from Stead and Compton. Lanham got a shocker in ht12, maybe he had a bike issue but catapulted into the fence at speed. Its another welcome 3 points, and hopefully we will have a full 1-7 next week, that's if Anders can remember not to race his team mates.
  5. A hard match to predict, with all the rain offs Glasgow have had an inconsistent run of home meetings, the last being 3 weeks ago. Its hard to judge Sheffield, they have the potential to spring at surprise but also to do very little. Hoping Lanham manages to stay upright in any contentious heats. Match could depend on which Wolbert shows up!
  6. Three points from Wolbert tonight would have got us a league point. Frustrating after last night.
  7. Or maybe not, standard inconsistency resumed at Plymouth!

    Plymouth Changes

Typically a team makes changes when Glasgow are due to visit. No doubt James Wright will ream off 3 or 4 heat wins when he was mince for us in 2013. Better have an over supply of spare tapes if its normal service to be resumed.
  9. With Wolbert, Thomsen and Lykke being flown in and our backlog of rain affected fixtures it was always going to be given every chance to go ahead. Typically it was glorious yesterday on our normal race day and even the forecast for tomorrow looks decent!
  10. Drop both of them, they are no longer wanted. It would be refreshing not to see the Mon's until May in the early season trophy then only once more in the league. In fact it would be better to only meet them once full stop.
  11. With the right mentor he could become much better. He never tires, never gives up but unfortunately is usually chasing. When he does hit the front he's fast and always controlled. On a 4 point CMA he's good enough and to think we started last year with two 3 pointers!
  12. Ipswich didn't have much more to give. Perhaps they under estimated the opposition. Worrall was outstanding but got no consistent back up. Heeps broke down at the tapes in his first ride, got going again but spluttered to a halt after two laps and did likewise in his second ride. A pale shadow of the rider who got paid 14 last year. Tungate started well but faded in contrast to Risager who did the opposite. Manzares was on the pace but couldn't gate and Hawkins was just plain poor. Ellis was decent but pushed it too hard on the receiving end of a 5-1 and got a sore one. For Glasgow we got a No1 performance from the No1 and he was well backed up across the board. Anders is frustrating, trying to race his team mate and got himself the same injury at the same corner he did in the Rye House rain off. His withdrawal was probably cancelled out by Ellis though put the reserves under more pressure with Henry r/r. Fox started off poor but came on some, his gating was electric. He'll do for next week against Plymouth if he is available.
  13. All sounds a bit paranoid. Wolbert rode for Edinburgh for a couple of seasons and I'm sure has friends and sponsors there he keeps in touch with. As for us there's nothing personal but its time to say thanks for your efforts KW but things just aren't working out.
  14. Unfortunately George did little else unless it was in April, August or September when his engines were working. It also helped that it was on his home track. We qualified in 2011 and won it. I'm sure you could cheer on the home team, Plymouth, Berwick and Sheffield to keep you amused!
  15. Stancl broke down most meetings June to August other than his first season hence we dismissed him for Craig Watson when patience ran out. Not that Wato was any better, infact he was p1sh at Ashfield for that year and duly returned the following season with Newport or Birmingham and rattled in some very decent points.
  16. Heeps was awesome at Glasgow last year, Risager less so. A good match in prospect and for the second Sunday in a row it should be dry. Kasper could be busy covering for the heat leaders!
  17. Same reason Newcastle have an EL heat leader as their No1. Rules are the same for everyone just some are smarter than others at manipulating them. It isn't right though!
  18. Its time. When you have to pull your No1 in their third ride having only scored a point the time has come. Looks like we could've at least got a point here. I'm holding back on criticising Rusty as he's been brilliant this season but FFS three zeros is appalling. MPT did us a turn and the rest seem respectable. If Newcastle can squeeze Britains third best rider into their PL team surely we can find a solution to our No1 racejacket. The time for patience has long since expired.
  19. Kelvin Mullarkey was an absolute headcase, todays riders don't come close to him thankfully. Riders insurance premiums probably went down when he retired!
  20. My comments were just being sarcastic. I'm frustrated to no end that a decent racer is chucking in the performances he is. I don't doubt for a minute that he is even interested in his average. What I am interested in is getting a No1 that can score decent points with double figures at home. ATM Wolbert has a shocking number of last places to his name.
  21. Who does he think he is, Joe Screen! Setting himself up nicely for a low average return to El Dale in 2015.
  22. In recent Premier League matches MPT has beaten Danny Phillips and Luke Bowen. If Glasgow have any sense they'll find a different guest in future. Tom perry would do.
  23. I'm usually running late, arriving within 5 mins of the start time and its a regular occurence that the gate closest to the pits is closed.
  24. Been saying for years that parade should be ditched, half the crowd usually keep talking through it anyway. Though yesterday it did help those queueing outside at 5pm to see ht1, only 1 gate open!
