    World Cup 2006

But would the Czechs want it?It's good as an idea, but if a country isn't strong would they risk holding an event they might not get into the final of?At the moment only Poland,Sweden and Denmark would be good bets to qualify.Britain should, but you wouldn't bet too much on it.As was said the attendances for a week in Denmark were not too good, which leaves Sweden and Poland with Britain. After a few years of that it will get pretty boring especially if one of them(Sweden or Britain, possibly)gets weaker. Can see it being held in more than one country

    World Cup 2006

Well i think they should have it in Germany alongside the football one. With Lindbäck in it we might even attract some of those lovely Brazilian ladies along

    Trevor Hedge

Agree with you Bert.Trevor was part of the backbone of the Dons side for a number of years.Just for me as a youngster at the time there were riders i didn't take to i guess.Ronnie Moore was just superb no matter how old he was.Great rider and very friendly. While Tommy Jansson was the new kid on the block. When i look back now it seemed to me that some of the guys were ancient.McKinlay and Goody spring to mind and they were younger than i am now Guess i took to the younger riders more, even those that were not superstars in the making.Rob Jones for example was a favourite for a while Thanks for that Linda. She was one of the characters at Plough Lane i always remember, even though i never knew who she was.

    Polish Winter 2005/2006

Must say i'm getting confused with all this.I thought it was enough just to take out a "local" licence, but not sure now.For instance,Marcin Sekula was riding in the 2.Bundesliga this year and i thought he maybe just took out a german licence but have seen that the rules were changed and riders must have citizenship. Now surely Marcin doesn't have german citizenship as he also rides in polish 2nd division and in polish junior champ, etc. Last year Stralsund rode with up to 3 polish riders.Puszakowski,Frankow and Kowalski but i'm sure 2 had german licences. Anyway whatever happens i hope Kevin gets a place,i'm sure he will do well.He is one of the few local riders i really enjoy watching

    Polish Winter 2005/2006

Thanks for the info tommy.Sounds serious. Can't say i really have a favourite Polish team, but because of Eddie Jancarz,Gorzow would be one that i look out for.Would hope to get there next season for the Jancarz meeting,if its on. As for Zielona Gora, would like to plan things better next year so that i can get to a meeting.Would really like to see Kevin Wölbert ride in Poland. So once the fixtures are out i will try and plan things better.Have found a couple of bus companies that do Hamburg-Poland.
  6. We do have a 250cc 2 stroke class here in Germany, but from what little i've seen of it,it is a hobby class for "fat blokes" Not a step up from the 80 or 125cc. Results here

    Swedish News

Think the news is out now and you can add Christian Hefenbrock to the Luxo Stars team.Good luck for next year.Heard that Christian approached them for this season, but was far too late(o.k for the bundesliga, which gets sorted at the last moment),they were pleasantly surprised and said they would put him in the team in 2006 if all worked out.Seems it has

    Polish Winter 2005/2006

Anyone have news on Gorzow?Seen on the net that they maybe have lost their sponsor and could be in financial trouble.Maybe have to drop down a league? Not seen anything concrete on this.Is it just a rumour?
  9. Just seen that Fredericia,Danish Superliga champs have decided not to run a team in the Superliga next year due to financial problems, lack of sponsorship, etc.Means Hans Andersen,Risager,Hougaard will have to find a new team. Will we see the league going back to a 4.t.t?Was well known that clubs had problems but is a bit dissapointing after the record crowd at the Holsted match

    Jensen Is European Champion

But you just have to see that Walasek and Zagar couldn't even qualify for the final.Obviously the quality riders were in the GP's

    Jensen Is European Champion

Well firstly we must consider the fact that just because there were no British entrants doesn't in any way discredit a competition. The British have a history of being a little slow in joining in.Just look at the football World Cup or early english entrants for the European Cup. I also think, like Subedei said,Jesper might not be the sort of rider they are looking at.If Ales had won then maybe, but the 6th or 7th best Danish rider.... :unsure:The thing is though he has won an international competition which maybe gives him more credibility than some who will get in.That is speedway.Apart from the top 4 or 5,the next 20 or so are all capable on certain tracks on certain days of winning a meeting that might be a quali for the GP's.

    Jensen Is European Champion

Wonder if the rumour that the winner will get a wildcard for the GP's is true Well done Jesper!
  13. Tomaz, have i missed something here? Why the Aces avatar? Is this a sign of the destination of Mr Zagar next year

    German Championship

The final can be downloaded here. Not great quality though
  15. Great final marred by a bad accident in the first heat to defending champ Mirko Wolter who was taken to hospital by helicopter. Was announced later that he has no serious injury but has to stay in hospital at least overnight and misses the Bundesliga Final tomorrow. Final M.Schultz C.Hefenbrock J.Pingel T.Stange Quali R.Haupt (F.Ex,1,2,1,3)7 M.Wolter (F.Ex)0 M.Müller (2,1,0,1,0)4 P.Rudolph (F.Inj,1,1)2 C.Hefenbrock (3,2,ret,3,3)11 T.Kroner (1,2,3,3,2)11 S.Petersen (ret,F.Ex)0 D.Rath (2,0,1,0,2)5 A.Minigalev (0,0,2,1,1)4 M.Dilger (2,1,2,f.ex,)5 S.Mell (1,2,0,2,1)6 J.Pingel (3,2,2,2,3)12 R.Schäfer (1,3,e.f,3,1)8 M.Schultz (0,3,3,3,2)11 T.Stange (3,3,3,2,1)12 S.Katt (2,3,1,2,3)11 H-J.Müller (3,0,1,1,0)5 T.Busch (3,0,0,2,0)5 A fantastic final race from Matze. He was third and came past Stange and then had a tough battle with Hefenbrock for the title, but in the end Hefe made a mistake and Matze won the championship for the second time. Hefe had a great battle earlier with Katt only for the race to be stopped because Dilger fell. Oh and the track record held by A.Dryml was beaten twice today.Once by Max Dilger in the morning qualifying races for the main final meeting and then by Hefenbrock in heat 2 of the main meeting.
  16. Spooky, but i find myself agreeing with Rabbs again I remember seeing Scott Autrey and Sumner McKnight ride in the second-half at Plough Lane, which if we ignore Keeter and Bast's little sojourn was the start of the second american invasion. The riders from the U.S have over the years brought to the sport something extra that probably no other nation could have.It looked to me tha all that was ending.I hope this new venture brings the youngsters through.Good job a lot of people don't take the attitude that because something failed in 19whatever its sure to fail again.Just have to look at the new venture in Spain and it's the same thing from speedyguy."blah,blah...1947 failed,..blah,i remember seeing San Miguel in 1953...." I say,go for it.Hope to see positive results over the next year or so
  17. I agree with Rabbit on this one still talking to me Rabbs?

    Rick Miller

Maybe there's a chance to see you back on track.John Jorgensen is trying to organize his 30 year testimonial for next year. And i hear that Egon Müller is trying to organize a series of meetings with the "oldies",though that might be longtrack. Not too sure on that

    Bundesliga Final

Yeah, well done Diedenbergen.Thoroughly deserved win.Ales got his track record back after less than 24 hours in the first heat and was a class apart.Stange and Tobi looked better today than yesterday really. As i said though there was no support for Ulamek,Hefe and Walasek and the non appearance of Jonsson meant Stralsund were always struggling.Brokstedt, well,Katt was leading Hefe,Ljung and Lukas when his bike packed up and he struggled after(on his spare?).Sönke fell and after his fall yesterday that was it for him.Morten was not in it today. All in all a bit of a let down after yesterday
  21. Yes folks todays the big one.As we are celebrating the day of German re-unification the question is will the title remain in what was East Germany? For the last 3 years the teams from Meck-Pomm have kept the title. The home side looks pretty strong.Katt always goes well and Klingberg has looked super here earlier in the season. Can Morten and Kylmä also put in solid displays.Maybe the deciding factor will be how Sönke goes in his 2 heats. Can't really see the Dryml brothers getting much back up so that leaves the challenge of the 2 M-V teams.Teterow would have been my team to challenge Brokstedt and still could be.The question is who will come in to replace the injured Mirko Wolter.Stralsund have the rider of the meeting if the info that Andreas Jonsson will be there but will he get any back up from Ljung,Busch and Minigalejev? Brokstedt 27 S.Katt(e.f,1,1,2)4 N.Klingberg(2,1,3,2,0)8 M.Risager(2,1,1,0,0)4 J.Kylmäkorpi(2,2,3,3,1)11 S.Petersen(F.ex)0 Teterow 30 S.Bromberg(0,f.rem0,0,0)0 S.Ulamek(3,3,2,1,2)11 T.Brosowski(0)0 G.Walasek(3,3,0,1,3)10 C.Hefenbrock(1,2,3,2,1)9 Diedenbergen 43 T.Stange(1,1,2,2,2)8 L.Dryml(2,3,1,3,3)12 M.Dilger DNR A.Dryml(3,3,3,3,3)15 T.Kroner(1,2,1,1,3)8 Stralsund 20 J.B.Jensen(e.f,2,2,3,2)9 R.Haupt(1,1,0,1)3 A.Minigalejev(0,e.f,0)0 P.Ljung(3,0,2,2,F)7 T.Busch(0,0,1)1 I'll go for a home win,but it really hangs on who Teterow get to replace Wolter. If they at short notice manage to get someone of Jonssons calibre then they should be too strong with Hefe at reserve

    German Championship

Yes Shortoi. There were 8 seeded riders and 8 heats in the morning for other riders to qualify.Unfortunately Henning looped at the start in his last chance heat and missed going into the main meeting.

    German Championship

Think he had the most fans there as well.30 or so by the third bend with a big flag and making lots of noise

  25. Another thing to consider maybe. If Richardson was Norwegian would he be considered for the GP's or would they(we) say, "o.k Holta(i know he is now Polish) maybe, but do we want Richardson as well?"
