  1. Maybe there is a case for a riders union official to be present, assuming some of these riders are in unions. Seems to be a difference between this and the Euro Grasstrack final. Both of which were chaotic because of the weather. In the grasstrack a lot of riders refused to carry on,but at least Paul Hurry won the title on the track(and was congratulated by all that i have seen) after the meeting was delayed a day.I do think the rule should at least be changed so that if the title was going to have a "final" then the 4 top scorers should be given a chance to ride, then even if one, maybe two refuse the title could be decided on the track. If out of the four only one is willing to ride then i think they shouldn't award the title.
  2. Maybe you misread the post.I took it to mean the meeting should not have started(SCB's post had nothing to do with the start only the finish).Which seems to be confirmed by the photo's and people that were there.
  3. Maybe the crowd difference from last year is because there wasn't a German rider this year.

    Leathers

    Yeah,and the Tiger stripes.Nice!
  5. Steve,if he has the same points total as Suchanek how can you say he was the best rider. Also if there is going to be one last race to decide the champ, why not have a final with the 4 top points scorers as was planned?
  6. Well he was my tip to win,but what i don't understand is,if it was to be decided with a final, why was there to be a run-off with Suchanek. Why were Hlib and Lindgren not asked?
  7. Well Subedei has a somewhat strange obsession with removing Scotty,Rico and Tony Blair from their seats Can't replace them all with Poles I know that leaves it open for someone to say a pole can do a better job than Blair
  8. I agree From the little i saw(some on tv and the Danish GP)Nicholls was one of the few exciting riders.Iversen as well

    Leathers

I was mentioning the ones i liked

    Leathers

Quite liked the "team" leathers. The Briggo boys in the 70's then a few teams in the mid 80's had them,Hackney,Mildenhall,Rye House for example. Also thought Martin Goodwin in his red/white checks stood out.Think PC in the 70's had some colourful ones
  11. Result of the final taken from inspeed.de 1.C.Hefenbrock 2.K.Wölbert 3.M.Dilger 4.R.Schäfer Hefe went into the meeting as favourite,so not unexpected, but again another great result from Wölbert

    Speedway In Spain?

    Think it is Russell Paine
  13. Not a web site tommy but a full page advert on the back of this months German speedway magazine, sorry. It's not certain that all the Germans will ride in the national championship,i think.Have heard that Hefenbrock and Schultz will, not sure about the others. The German Championship isn't the most prestigious title to win,and maybe not that much money in it either

    Danish Averages

Kevin you can always look at www.speedwaynet.dk at the line-ups for the first matches of this year,to get the averages from last year. They provide the averages for every team to calculate how many minus points a team will start with.Bit fiddly i know In fact thinking about it they have the 2004 average for the whole season,so look at the DMU site at the teams and there are the averages,e.g Fredericia :unsure:Which of the 2 Gjedde ave's is right, you'd have to look at a start line-up

    German U21 Final

I honestly don't know about the details Tommy of with who and how he rides next year in Poland, but look at my webshots and you can see him wearing a BOLL jacket at the start of the season,so would think they do sponsor him, just like Walasek

    German U21 Final

tommy, It is no secret that Kevin is looking to ride in Poland next year,he said that at a meeting a year ago,but he was too young.I think if things go well you might see him next year
  17. Fair enough.Thats why i'm not really that interested in the GP's Can't see me going to one next year unless the have one in the AOL Arena, but can't see that with the World Cup being here
  18. Thats what i thought was going to happen(mentioned it last year). That was the system used here in the U21 qualifiers.I thought it was at least fair and gave a rider who was unbeaten all through but made a mistake in the semi's a chance to get into the final.People said t.v audiences wouldn't understand the winner of the final not winning the meeting, which is fair enough, but who is the sport being run for?
  19. Would disagree there.Have you seen the Brovst line-up this season.Pretty much all Polish.Think even the team manager is Polish going by his name. There are foreign riders at all 500cc levels.Superliga,1.Div and 2.Div.Then they have 3(?)80cc leagues and below that 50cc league(s),so quite a good structure and the product of that structure is slowly coming through.

    German U21 Final

Mmmm I know he has turned offers down. Also know he has his sights set on one of the top leagues next year.If he could fit a season in Britain in as well as all the other commitments.I do think he would take to the tracks in Britain better than some that have tried in recent years. Also think he and Smoli can spring a few surprises in Austria

    Third Chance?

Tough one.Without some sort of qualifier how do you sort out who gets in.Personally the top 8 thing hasn't worked because of Hampels injury. He would have finished in the top 8,which would have meant Jonsson finishing outside of the automatic places. Also take away Bydgoszcz and does Gollob really deserve automatic seeding For me the only ones that really deserve seeding into the GP's next year are TRick,Crump,Adams,Nicki,Greg,Bjarne and Jarek.Would like to see the rest in some quali meeting or 2.As that isn't going to happen. How many can you get rid of and still keep a high standard.Who comes in in their place. Can Zagar do anything outside of Krsko?Would Bjerre bring much to the GP's.Iversen i thought did well in Copenhagen and was unlucky not to get further. Can say in their defence,if Nicholls,Richardson, etc had a GP on their favourite track like Gollob has then maybe they would be in the top 8 as well.If Richardson isn't in there really isn't a British rider than can do as well or better.Think Ryan shouldn't be in next year,if only to give him a chance to recupperate.
  22. Yes,i would have thought so.There are a number of Polish riders riding here with German licences.Kowalski and Frankow(were last season at least),Sekula and Schmidt. Its a convenience, don't think Stralsund and Wolfslake really have much control over them though. When these agreements are made i think the clubs know where the riders priorities lie. Anyway good to see Klingberg in form before the "Big one" at Brokstedt Just wish Risager would start scoring as well
  23. Racer X Understood. But maybe there is no conflict as Polskizuzel says.Maybe it was always agreed that his British commitments come first. And of course if there is a conflict when do they know he isn't riding? An hour before the meeting? Is it too late by then?He gets an ACU licence for the rest of the season. Then if he is wanted by a Polish side next year(after all he might already know he isn't wanted by his club)he gets a new Polsh licence
  24. If Polskizuzel's info is correct then it is already agreed that he rides for BV.But yes,how quickly do they act. With next season,i don't know, but was thinking this would be his last year anyway Think they would be a bit more understanding in this case than with Ulamek if he really did defy his club
