But he also shows(like some footballers) that give sportsmen more money and they will want to spend it.So giving speedway riders more won't neccesarily make them sit at home in Britain counting the dosh

Well Coulthard was racing up and down the Reeperbahn last year

There will be a short report of the Bundesliga Finals from Olching on the Bayern Channel at 21:45 Sunday night for anyone who has that available. Olching(Lee Richardson,Martin Smolinski) Brokstedt(N.K.Iversen) Güstrow(Peter Karlsson) Parchim/Wolfslake(Matej Ferjan)

Personally i would be interested to hear his opinion of Tommy Jansson,as a follow on from the previous article.Don't think i have seen anything from Tommy's contempories on how good they thought he was
-
His car broke down on the motorway
-
New Champs are Parchim-Wolfslake who beat Güstrow in a run off(Ferjan vs Karlsson) .Unfortunatelly Brokstedt had rode without Iversen so finished 4th. Congratulations to Par-Wola

Bye bye Ullevi & the Olympic stadion
iris123 replied to f-s-p's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think it's a cost cutting thing.Couldn't see Sweden carrying on with 2 GP's either for too long, same as Poland. When they only get 8,000 for a GP and some league matches are getting 15,000,it's not sustainable.Seems like Bydgoszcz have got themselves in enough financial trouble. As for a GP in Norway is that secure for the future?. Can't see any of the other choices taking off, maybe France for a while.Personally i think in a few years they will be hard pushed to get 6 Countries/GP's -
Some dates here http://www.msc-diedenbergen.de/Termine2005.htm

Any thoughts on the meeting at Stralsund at the weekend? Was a bit dissapointed that the qualifying system allowed some riders to drop out of their last race. Are you coming over again soon?
-
Good answer Kevin My point though is exceptions have and will be made, why is the F.I.M being so strict.Even this year there were 'B' teams to make up the numbers.I can't see any other such situations arising as Belgium can't get a team let alone a Flemish one or a Catalonian team seeking a place.
-
Isn't the whole Britain/England thing full of strange exceptions.Thinking of the Olympics,Boxers from N.Ireland are in the Republic's team.Derry City play in the League of Ireland,Berwick in Scotland.Celtic want to play in the Premier League.Britain don`t enter the Olympic football competition basically because they want to keep the power that they get from individual representation. You would have thought though seeing as International matches were basically started in Britain, speedway wise that Scotland could still be represented. They must have been affiliated through the British A.C.U in the 70's so why the change?

Congrats from me too

Result of final from Stralsund 1.J.Hampel 2.M.Puszakowski 3.A.Smith 4.M.Schultz 5.E.Andersson 6.B.Hamill Billy Hamill won the final on both days at Teterow and Stralsund but the main final based on placings over the 2 days was won by Jarek.Phil Morris had a good day at Stralsund winning the kleines Finale and so finished 7th on the day.Danny Knakowski had a good day at his home track but had a fall in his second race yesterday as did Fritz Wallner and both pulled out of their last ride Hope its nothing serious The B Lizenz at Stralsund was won by Sönke Petersen followed by Kevin Wölbert and Toby Busch but the results below don`t somehow match up with what i saw.The loud speaker system where i was, was pretty poor so i couldn`t follow Also had my first sighting of the young Erik Pudel winning 80cc race Full Results here http://www.mcnordsternstralsund.de/5015519...954810b1e02.htm

Soldier Blue, wasn't that a triple x film from the 70's
-
Andy Meldrum, did he ever make it to London Don`t ever remember seeing him.Was often programmed to ride but never made it to any meeting i went too.Always work commitments or something.Another Farmer?
-
The Milkman on holiday then,is he
-
Remember meeting someone on the London Underground who said he was Soldier Boy(late 70's early 80's)although i think he must have been an imposter or the photo isn`t that good
-
The photo was taken a while back as the Old Den was knocked down and re-developed for housing. To go in the Ilderton Road entrance you used to pass what was remaining from the old speedway stadium, the old gates, etc also up in the park(well it was achildrens play area when i was there there was still the remains of the terracing from one end.Once Millwall moved down the road i used to go from the South Bermondsey end so never went past the Old Den or the speedway track to know if anything still remains or if the area was re-developed along with the Den.
-
Take a look here as it seems Phil Morris has changed nationality http://www.mcnordsternstralsund.de/5015519...95481202d01.htm

Thought there would be a family connection.

Was a guy called Jason Hubbard in the junior team. Seems your Unc has another story to tell,eh
-
Where was Honey second halving for you Iris The way i read it "in their second halves" didn`t necessarily mean they had to be one of the local riders.Steve Hone rode a few times at least at Plough Lane in the second half as did a certain Hubbard.I was one of the people who stayed for the second half almost without fail as i found them very entertaining
-
Don`t want to upset anyone but it occurs to me that maybe the fact that he rode for Wembley and that was where the World Final was always held played a part there. If it was held anywhere else i wonder whether he would be a double champ.Good Luck to him he done what was needed but i wouldn`t think he ranks with Peter Collins for a start
