  1. Fair play to Somerset tonight, Newcastle were just too inconsistent. Story of our season! What wasn't nice to see though was cheering for fallen riders. Not from fans though - this time from Somerset riders and management! To cheer when ludvig fell, knowing the aggregate was already won (and having already cheered when stu fell) is totally unacceptable.
  2. Nigel Wagstaff on SKY tonight said it could be an old injury. Like VV says Greg isn't exactly an angel himself. I thought David Norris made some very fair comments about Nicki in the GP programme.

    Newcastle

Bjarne Pedersen, Richard Juul, Andre Compton, Kevin Little, Jesper Olsen and Rob Grant. The other reserve spot was held by a few riders during the season but for the majority was filled by James Birkinshaw. Jepser was hurt for much of the season so we used a lot of guests then too!!!

    Cardiff Gp

Yes there is a flyer with the cardiff tickets. Doesn't say who will be riding just 'Exhibition of the best of British junior speedway riders'

Left Handed Rider... Does Anybody Know ?

Nicki Pedersen is a leftie. Mind you he only has 2 full fingers on his right hand so it would be hard for him not to be a leftie I wouldn't change being a leftie for anything

    This Gp Track Is Rubbish

I think the commentators think it's 'hard but fair' if it's anyone else but 'dirty riding' if it's Nicki Pedersen. Tony's move on 1st bend with Lindback was exactly the same as Nicki's move on Crump. New GP, same old bias. Well done to Trick, deserved his win, Lindback also excellent tonight.

Exactly. Wish someone would tell Kelvin that.
  8. I wonder how many of those who found the kick funny would have found it so funny had it been done by a Danish rider? Would liked to have seen Jason interviewed afterwards & watch him explain what he thought he was doing. Incidently, has anyone else noticed how many times Sophie interviews Lee Richardson during meetings he is in???
  9. What an incredibly arrogant statement to make. I hope any Danes reading this don't think all Brits are as xenophobic as you. To brand the nation of Denmark as a bunch of cheats whilst trying to make the Brits out to be some sort of superior nation is absolutely ridiculous. Congratulations to Hans who fully deserved to win.

    Hans Andersen

Well seeing as most people on here seem to think there was only one heat during the meeting why did they bother running the other 24??? The meeting was 25 heats long and GB should have had the result sewn up before the last heat. They had a good lead and let it slip. To blame one Danish rider for the failure to win is absolute cr*p . The Brits had the chance to win and let it go, end of story.

The meeting is over 25 heats not just one. GB were lucky to get some earlier decisions. GB had a good lead but let it slip, Scott could have gated in the last heat but didn't. The Swedes rode well and should be applauded for their victory. Yes we're all disappointed but lets not turn it into sour grapes. It was ours for the taking and we let it slip with or without the help of Hans.

Well I would have liked to have seem GB win it but sadly it didn't happen. What I get sick of hearing though is someone or something else getting the blame whenever they don't win. It's plain sour grapes . If Scott have gated in the final heat there wouldn't be any need for this argument but he didn't so lets blame someone else! Hans is being made the fall guy but the meeting wasn't just about one race it was about 25! GB got the benefit of some debatable refereeing decisions during the meeting so they can't say they were hard done to. Yes the result was a pity but lets not detract from Sweden who rode well and deserved their win.
  13. How I saw the incidents were: The Pedersen/Crump thing - Nicki was out in front and moved outwards on the 4th bend (as he was entitled to do as he was in front and could choose his line). Crump also decided to go on the outside. There was minimal contact from Nicki's dirt deflector and Jason went down in dramatic style. A limp which suddenly appeared then disappeared just as quickly when Nicki was excluded! As for the final, Nicki didn't gate and was at the back when he picked up some grip (as had Nicholls & Rickardsson in other races on the same spot) coming out of the 4th bend. He fell off the back and hit the fence along the straight and as Grachan says he ran after the bike and tried to clear it off the track but the ref stopped the race anyway. As for Hans, after leading the race from Nicki, Scott and Bjarne something went on his bike (blown engine?) on the 4th bend of the last lap which put Nicki and Scott through to the semis. Don't recall him crashing tho, he just ground to a halt.

    Why was Lee Richardson excluded?

Agree, I don't think KB touched him. Didn't see Lee protesting about it either so I guess he musn't have been too annoyed about the decision.
